  1. I think a stall is normal here and there. Like a plateau without WLS. I stalled for 4 days last wk, then suddenly dropped again. Walking and water, you need the water to flush the fat your kidneys are working to breakdown. Don't worry, you will drop much much more in the wks and months to come. I know personally 5 people who are a yr or more out and they all stalled once in a while. Now they all look like totally different people!
  2. 2 wks post op and down 20lbs!!!! Yay!!! So exciting. I start my 2 wks of mushy foods today. How's everyone??
  3. I'm 11 days out and my 2 incisions that had drains have not totally sealed. I don't know why they didn't put another stitch in after taking out the drain. One was even a little infected, but better now. Stitches out if all 5 incisions today.
  4. Congratulations everyone! I am 8 days out today. Feeling so much better, but am having some pain under right tube incision spot. Pain meds help, but am almost out. Not sure it's closing properly after tube removal. I think I'll have to go back to dr, make sure everything is ok and hopefully renew pain meds. Stitches should come out tomorrow or Wednesday. Overall though feeling pretty good. On full liquids now. Had watered down (and double strained to be sure) tomato basil soup yesterday. It was delicious! Could only eat 6 sm spoonfuls. So weird to be full like that. I'm already down 14 lbs and 5" around my belly!! Amazing. So happy the worst is over and the future looks so bright What flavorless protein powders do you use in soups?
  5. I'm 6 days post op and coconut water has been the best for me! Nourishing, gives me energy, tasty ???? As far as getting it all in, I just never let a drink down unless I'm picking up another. If I'm always holding a bottle or a glass, I will continue to remember to sip off it.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Today starts 5 days out! What a difference a few days make! Once the IV was removed the nausea subsided - thank goodness! Been sipping on water, sugar free juice and coconut water for last couple days. Everything tastes so good. Food smells amazing but have no desire to actually eat anything, so strange. Looking forward to these drains coming out tomorrow, they are so cumbersome and uncomfortable. Good luck to all those pre-op, keep it up to all those post. Most important thing I've learned so far is to stay positive ????

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Update: 3rd day post op and feeling so much better! Still not keeping everything down but have found if I sip while standing it stays in. Again, since I am breast feeding I am not on l anti nausea meds. I'm very happy with how I feel today. Hope to be released from hospital today, drains out Friday. Good luck to everyone, stay positive.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

I should have mentioned I am still breast feeding, so dr didn't want me on the anti nausea medications that would normally be injected right into IV. I'm really praying that's all it is - lack of that medicine and will pass, not a complication????
  10. I'm 2 days out and can't keep anything down. Was burping up blood all day yesterday, then bike last night. Passed the leak test this am, burped that up and every liquid I've taken in today. I'm nursing so they don't want to give me the nausea medication. I'm wondering when this will pass though. Still on IV until tomorrow upon being released. Drains out Friday.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Thanks for the replies. Feels good to take this journey with others. I'm still very nauseas. Not burping up blood anymore, but all the liquids I take in come back up. Not sure if this is normal. Wondering how long until I can keep something down.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Passed the leak test. Was given apple juice, tea and sorbet - nothing ever tasted so good! But it's taken me the better part of an hr and I'm not even a third done

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Was sleeved yesterday. Went better than I expected. First few hrs out were awful but it gets better and better as the hrs pass. Been burping up blood which is the worst part of it. Drains and IV in. Leak test today and if things go well, water! I can't wait to just swallow some water.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Good luck to you! The worst is definitely over for me I think. Never knew I could get by on just clear liquids, keep thinking of contestants on Survivor - helps me through. Have thought of food, specifically crunchy foods a thousand times I'm sure. Keeping busy, staying positive!!

    Breastfeeding mommas!?

I will be sleeved in just 4 days! Nursing a 6 month old who has started solids but doesn't take a bottle well. I'm nervous about how this is going to work post surgery, so happy to read all the nursing success stories!
