I had to finally call my doc and ask for something to help with headaches/pain since tylenol is the worst. They gave me tramadol. -
Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Sarahjane79 replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yay! I also have no calorie limit. Basically I was told to only focus on getting the 60 protein for for the day. Which if eating high protein foods at meal times, is going tomes keep those calories, fat, and carbs lower. Although if we're going to be working out, we need some carbs. like today I've only really had 2 meals cause I haven't been hungry, but my protein is at 53 grams. I hate 2 lunch meat roll ups for breakfast pre workout, and then tried the kids steak at applebees for a late lunch. Haven't been hungry yet again tonight. But I'll eat something before bed. -

So, I started the gym today. I get a free year at the heart center at our hospital, so I'm finally taking advantage of it. So far today, with the speed walking I did around school after working out, then shopping/walking all day with my bff, I've got a net calorie of -22. Ha! I don't know that I've ever burned 6-700 calories a day! -

Yup. Although I guess I was on a purée/soft food phase. Not strictly just purée. -

I also ate lots of veggie burgers. Morningstar has a good one called grillers prime. Tastes like a real burger. And I also eat lots of lunch meat roll ups. Lunch meat, cheese and a little mayo/honey mustard, all rolled up. Pretty delicious. I love boars head lunch meat. They have have a good maple turkey. -

Tuna salad. Tuna, some mayo, I chopped up a pickle reeeeeally good, added a bit of the pickle juice ( vlassic has a no sugar added pickle so good. No sugar, calories, carbs, etc) it was the beat thing I'd eaten in 5 or 6 weeks. -
You can't possibly be a real nurse of you don't think nursing is part of the medical field.

Yup. Saturdays. We can do this. My wii fit just told me how impressed it was that I I haven't missed a day in 4 weeks. It's going to be unimpressed next week. Hahah -

How much was the fitbit? You'll have to let me know how you like it. I've been thinking about getting one or something like it for a little while know. I just use my phone for now, but if it's in my purse or not on me it obviously doesn't track. It's a Samsing app, and pretty great, but I'd love something more accurate. -

Your surgeon recommended you drink diet coke?! That's interesting. I can't wait to try s drink. I'll probably wait at least another month or so. We'll see. I can't remember how long my doc said to wait. I'll check with them first though. -

Any February 2014 Sleevers?

So, I took a few pictures as today is officially 8 weeks out -
Is Dr. Gluck doing your surgery? My only advice is to sip. Sip sip sip. I'm 8 weeks out, and I still struggle with getting my 64 oz of Fluid in. I do fine with Protein. Although it was hard to get that in until I got to soft foods! You'll be fine! They are awesome at mercy. The only pain I'd ever really had was just the gas pain. And even then, it was just uncomfortable. But yeah. Just walk. and walk some more. feel free to ask me ANYTHING. I'm an open and book and will answer anything you want to know. Ps. I'm an doing great. I've lost 55 lbs now. I still do have some pain in my lower left where the biggest incision was. But at a week out, I was putting on my boots, and ripped my healing muscles back apart. Yes. It hurt as bad as you might think Hah. But it's something I can live with, except sleeping. I had to call the doc and they prescribed me some lidocaine Patches. I did sleep on my couch for 4 weeks after. But But I started walking and couple weeks ago, and am going to join join a gym this week. But I've yet to eat something from my list of allowed foods that hasn't agreed with me. Honestly is been really good, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to do this.

Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I feel like some days I have no restriction. Granted after eating the 4 oz I'm not hungry at all, but don't feel full. (I do feel satisfied) and some days I can't even eat 4oz. -
I was on the 19th, and I'm down 55 lbs. I walk 3-5 times a week. I will workout more when I join a gym, I can't depend on michigan weather to cooperate with walking, hah. I don't have any great meals, but I love reading the world according to egg face blog. She has all kinda of bariatric recipes. I eat lots of lunch meats, eggs, tuna, veggie and turkey burgs. As far as exercising, anything more than what you're doing is a great place to start.

I ate just over half yesterday, and the other half today. But it was even better reheated! They're big patties, so you definitely won't be able to eat a whole one. -

I bought some frozen turkey burgs, and while there is 10 g of fat, there is 30 g of protein. I can eat just over half at a time. I made one yesterday with some teriyaki marinade. So good! It was even better today though, reheated. -
Yeah. I eat one. By the time I get done I'm not full, but I definitely don't want to eat more. I can't imagine eating two of them. Unless you're talking about those little tiny breakfast ones. I could probably eat 2 of those if that's all I ate.

body shaper or girdle
Sarahjane79 replied to DOMINICANA88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup. I loved it all after surgery as it did help with pain and just made me feel better. I imagine once I get some more loose skin I'll go back to wearing some sort of shape wear. Right now it's just not needed. Plus I outgrew the 2 I had in the last 2 months. I'll wait until I reeeeeeally need em. -
body shaper or girdle
Sarahjane79 replied to DOMINICANA88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore a binder as tight as I could for a few weeks after surgery then, bought a tank top type shape wear and wore that for a few weeks. I'm pretty sure you could wear any kind of shape wear asap after surgery as long as it isn't hurting you. -
Vlassic actually sells a no sugar added line of pickles. So no calories, no carbs, no sugar. I only eat them once in a while or chop one or 2 up for tuna salad.

Silly Hospital Clothing Questions
Sarahjane79 replied to SparkleCat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got lucky. My highest incision is a good 3 inches below the girls. But even still, I i didn't care to wear the sports bra home, that I wore there. And yes, I also just used a second gown as a robe.
