  1. It's like lipsticklady said, I don't expect anyone to change because of me. But I also am not going to sit at home like a bump on a log because I can't eat like I used to. My nut has even said that she WANT us to go out to eat, just make healthy choices. And to eat "normal" again, just making good choices. I'm sure once I get out of my liquid stage (this week) I might even go out with friends more. But to say had husband or to stay away for 6-8 weeks? That's just absurd.
  2. I think you're being a little (way) to dramatic.

    I need help!

Same. I go to puréed foods tomorrow and I'm allowed mashed potatoes. Not that I can eat much, but I can. And will.
  4. I've also gone out twice, both completely my choice. I went to applebees both times and had some broccoli cheese soup and mashed potatoes. I only ate about a quarter of each thing before I was full, but man was it nice to go out with friends and be able to "eat". And my bill was only $5.75! And I'm only 2.5 weeks out

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

My doc does. Anything liquid counts as overall liquids for the day, and protein if there's some in the liquid.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I am 16 days out and feeling pretty great! I still have some minor pain/soreness in my big incision, but Tylenol kicks it. I am struggling with getting my fluids/protein in, as I'm just not hungry or thirsty. I'm trying hard today. I had a lab practical today, and basically you go to a different station every 2.5 minutes, so I took a g2 to class with me and made sure I took at least one sip at every station. I managed a half a bottle of g2 in that hour and a half. That's better than I do in a whole day. But I've melted 33 lbs off my body, and I couldn't be happier about this decision to change my life. I've lost 10% of my former self! In a month!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I finally had the best and most awesome BM today. Woo! So I bought one of those protein shot drink things. You know, 42 grams of protein in 3.8 oz dealies. It was gross. I cut it with water and it wasn't horrible, so I got through it. Mostly because I got a stern talking to about getting protein on at my 2 week follow up appt on Tuesday. But now I'm the horrible taste of the stuff won't leave my mouth. I ate some soup hoping it would, and after every bite. Still there. Gross! I'm officially down 31 lbs in a month. I started my liquid diet a month ago yesterday. I couldn't be happier!!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I don't know what to tell ya. I've been taking prilosec on and off for over a year. I started off buying the brand name stuff, then got smart and switched to walgreens brand. I got a script for it when I had my EGD done in January, and it's also a capsule. Not to be rude, but I know my drugs. I've taken pharmacology, and I'm in school for nursing.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Yup. I sure am. And it's always been a capsule, no matter if it's store brand, brand name, or generic from the pharmacy with my prescription.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Yeah, the cheats I've done is some refried beans and cheese, and I've had a couple light string cheeses. And I've added a couple smashed to smithereens saltines to soup to get through it I've handled it just fine. The refried beans take me like,, an hour to eat. Hah.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

The brand name prilosec otc and the store brand I've gotten from walgreens are capsules. In fact, the walgreens brand capsule looks exactly like the ones in my prescription bottle. Maybe there are different pills.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

The prilosec otc I've had had all been capsules. I think Prevacid is what they have me in the hospital and you can let it sit under your tongue.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

My hands have been the driest i've ever had. I'm also really sure I'm really dehydrated as my pee is getting more yellow and less amounts every time I pee. I need more fluids. Probably why milk of magnesia hasn't been working for me no Fluid to get the poops out. Need. More. Liquids. I

    Starting liquid diet again

And also, just because you CAN eat more than 4 ounces doesn't mean you should. I say that meaning maybe you don't have all the "I'm full" indicators, and now you're overeating for your sleeve, which seems like it would create a stall or no weight loss at all.

    Starting liquid diet again

When someone says they can eat what they want, I guess I take that as literally eating what you want and disregarding what you're supposed to be eating post op. I don't mean to judge, but you say you ate pizza and can eat whatever. At some point you needed to try things that aren't on our "diet" too see that you can eat what you want. I'm not trying to start a fight, I guess we all just need to word stuff different or not read into stuff so much.
  23. Alright. I need some insight. Yesterday after I put my boots on, I did something that caused A LOT of pain in my lower left incision. I either twisted or I don't even know. I just know I went from feeling great to wanting to die. I called my surgeon right away and they said I could have ripped some of the muscle back apart that was healing, or strained it, or pulled the internal suture. Ok. Great. She said I would be sore for a day or 2, to use pain meds and she had heard sometimes a heating pad helps. So I of course took pain meds and pretty much spent the rest of the night laying down. I got up this am and it was still sore. I took more pain meds, walked around some and then laid back down this afternoon. I got up again and was pleasantly surprised the pain was gone. Barely even a twinge of soreness. So I figured if take a shower to feel human. Hah. As I get in the shower, the pain comes back with a vengeance. I proceed to basically cry the whole time I'm showering. I take more pain meds after I'm done because I'm in so much pain I can't function. Basically. It's worse than it was yesterday. Yesterday it didn't hurt at all if I was sitting or laying down. Now it's tender even when I'm sitting/laying down. Standing or walking or actually bending to sit down makes me cry. No joke. I got up a little.bit ago and cried the entire time. Now, for me to cry about pain, it really F'n hurts. I can take a lot before you know I'm in pain. I guess the point of all this rambling is... is this still something considered normal? Or should I actually call my doc tomorrow? I have his cell number. It's more that it actually hurts to live now. Like when I'm standing it hurts to even take shallow breaths. I'm just so pissed at myself, as I have to go back to classes after I've been on break. I was doing sooooo well, and now I'm worried I won't be able to go because it hurts every step I take. Plus, how much can I really learn if I'm on tons of pain meds? Hahaha. Thanks for reading all this crap. I know it's long, and I apologize.
  24. Thankfully after pretty much laying on my couch ALL weekend, I'm feeling MUCH better. Very little pain, and am once again weaning myself off the pain meds I was able to got to all my classes today with no pain! I was so worried when I made this thread, that the pain was going to last. But I did take ibuprofen, and I asked about that at my 2 week post op appt with his nurse, and she said while it's not good to take for a while, in this case it was for inflammation, and it's okay to take for a short time. I really think ibuprofen along with the lortab is why I'm feeling so much better already. Now if only I could have a good poop. I took some milk of magnesia and while I had a small BM, I know there's more in there. Lolz Ps I wouldn't wish the pain I had this weekend on my worst enemy. It hurt worse than when I tore my acl! Be careful friends!
  25. Same. I'm glad I didn't have to cheat my way into this.
