    Do You Drink Coffee?

My Dr. Says i can have coffee as tolerated when I'm back to regular eating. Right now it can be regular *decaf* coffee, no sugar or milk.

    post op 7 days pizza

Lol, bobbyswife you weren't talking to me either since you didn't address me, But i will address you. Believe me, i trust the advice of my dr. Over internet NUTS any day of the week. Lol, chewing up pizza and spittng it out because you can't swallow it due to your sleeve being new MAY point to a mental health issue in bariatric patients? Please show me a bit of info on this phenomenon, unbiased please. Lol, i hardly call myself being nasty because i questioned someone's judgment of the OP, and these so called "rules" that every bari patient MUST follow. Who did i call an EX FATTY? why put on a shoe that doesn't fit? That comment was a general statement not aimed at anyone in particular but i wonder why you felt it was an attack on someone. Actually, no i don't. Hmm.

    African American Sleevers

Thanks, i just said the same. No more...it's totally upsetting all of my insides! I feel like i have a huge lump in my throat right now, i just started the mango isopure this morning. But no more. I also can't stand stevia! Ugh. Two cups of tea wasted so far!

    African American Sleevers

Hey everyone, i have one more day of this isopure to go but i think I'm allergic to it! On Sunday i can start full liquids and my protein shakes but this mango isopure is making my throat feel a bit closed, while the blue berry flavor went down and caused stomach pains...I'm just sitting here wondering why i feel so icky, it's this stuff!

    post op 7 days pizza

Now if your ideal meal is a snicker bar and skittles for lunch 4 days out of 7, and oreos for the other 3, you may need help. But if you're NORMAL like most of us, wanting pizza doesn't make you in need of mental help...it makes you normal.

    post op 7 days pizza

And what exactly are "the rules"?? Every one here had a different Dr, different experience. I know i am going to love my sleeve and eat NORMALLY for the rest of my life and yes that includes pizza and crackers. My cousin has NO limits to what she eats-- if she likes it she eats it and has lost 130 lbs so far. Her Dr. Is not concerned and she looks great. But you know what? When we go out for Chinese, she eats Chinese. When we have rice and beans she has that too. Her rules are hers and she follows them. So whose rules should she be following? What i would not do post surgery is panic about food and calorie count and nit pick, and i wouldn't judge other people from my EX FATTY pedestal. If i have to do that THEN i would wonder why i did this. I did this to have a normal reaction to food, not be unable to deal with social situations because i am forbidden from eating something i want. If my sleeve gives me permission to eat, then that is what i am going to do and i will still lose weight.
  8. I'm trying to lose pretty slowly...i WANT to lose in tiny amounts. So far I'm 4 days from surgery and I'm down 8 lbs. Looks like I'll be losing more than 10lbs a month lol.
  9. Biotin is your friend. I am taking 1250 mcg daily starting Monday. I refuse to lose my beautiful locs.

    Weight loss

Why do you feel the need to lose so much weight so quickly? I would be upset to lose more than 30 lbs a month honestly...this is not a race and i do not want to put my body into shock anymore than i already have. 22 lbs a month is an awesome loss.

    post op 7 days pizza

I know some people who went home on purees. Low fat, low sugar foods blended up are just fine from day 1. I have a stomach made of steel and that hasn't changed. I also can comfortably get down about 3 ounces of liquid easily every half hour. I'm not complaining...very happy with my dr., a slow weight loss and my sleeve!

I do not have an eating disorder and i do the same. Please! Not everything you do with food is an eating disorder after you've had a major surgery.

Check in: Week of Nov 17th Sleevers!

Hey sleevers, i had surgery on Monday. I was only on a pre op diet for one day...clear liquids only. It's now day two post op and i am finally feeling better. Gas is passing more freely, i am satisfied with my liquid drinks, not hungry and it is easy to get my liquid requirements in because i don't feel sick. My doctors were excellent and my sleeve is great!
  17. I had my surgery on Monday! Fully paid for.

    Sleeved today! Nov 17

Congrats. I was also sleeved yesterday but i am in pretty serious pain. Still i don't have a single regret.

second thoughts about the surgery :(

i also have these moments of panic. this is what my surgeon said to calm me down: there is always a possibility of something going very wrong with this surgery. but the probability of something going very wrong is less than 2%. i will treat you like a dearly loved family member on that table and do my absolute best to give you the utmost care i can. that helped me to feel better tremendously. i know that i have had emergency surgeries on my digestive tract in the past without even taking a single health test, let alone the 10+ i've taken for this surgery! so that helps me to be encouraged also. and last but certainly not least, is i always think to myself...if i back out of this now, in 10 years, when i am probably full blown diabetic and struggling with sleep apnea at almost 300 pounds, will i wish i had taken this opportunity now, while i am only on the borderline of some serious conditions and young enough to live out an awesome life looking and feeling the way i truly want to? everytime i think about that...i sober right up and know that this surgery is right for me. for YEARS i have struggled with my weight and self image. NOW, i am struggling with my weight, self image AND my health. i don't want to waste any more YEARS of my life WISHING i looked better, WISHING i felt better, WISHING i was this, or could do that. i want to be the BEST me i can be, and like my doc says, "there's no time like the present." good luck, you will be just fine! congratulations and much success to you on your journey!

    sleeved last night

yay! so happy that you're feeling much better. i am anticipating that first week of pain and being down so i am trying to prep as MUCH AS I POSSIBLY CAN lol. my sleeved family members are saying i'm doing too much--but i'd rather be overprepped than underprepped and i don't want to take any chances not being able to have something i really need to make my life better. thank you for the encouragement, and i'm sure you'll think surgery was right as soon as your body adjusts and you fall back into your old self again!
