  1. Hello everyone,

I would like to find out if I'm the only one with this problem. I had my surgery on 2/10. Surgery was successful. When returning to work things seemed to be fine, until the stressors hit. I get pains in my chest. The pain is similar to the pain of drinking to fast. I also began to burp. A week after my surgery, I was stressed because of a family member and vomited. My line of work is very stressful, but in the past a walk or calm music would help. I have tried walking. I leave the office and walk, but as soon as I go back in the building the pain comes back.

    Anyone else physically feeling stress?

Thank you all for your time and replies.

  2. Thank you for the update and for your honesty. I think it's so important to know people have the "what did I do to myself?" moment. I had that moment between sleeps in the hospital. I felt so sick and so non-functional. Even now, I'm only

going on to my third day and I am awake in the middle of the night with pain and low blood sugar. How could I not wonder what got me here? I personally feel that its a healthy question to ask both before and after surgery. How else can we learn and move on in our healthy new life?

I'm glad you are seeing the rainbow through the clouds. Having a good support system is really helpful. My husband is one of the good ones. I know he's had his "what is she doing?" moment. Again, it's just natural.

Please keep us updated on your success. Down 35 pounds in a month? That's incredible. Keep it up! You're doing great!

Yes, support is so very important. Thank you. I wish us all success. We did it :).

  3. Hey everyone,

I have been gone for a while. I was sleeved on the 10th. I had my prayers, lip balm, and gas x ready. Lol. All I can remember was the recovery room. My blood pressure did spike a little. My surgeon said my liver was good and it was a nice sleeve.

I live in GA, and left the hospital the next morning. We were snowed in and all I had was broth and popsicles. Lol. Today, I feel great. My husband took me shopping because I can't eat anything. Walking helped soooooo much. I was miserable before. I was able to walk today, and I feel like a million bucks.

Let me be honest. Day 2 I cried alone due to regret. I finally shared it with my husband today. I asked myself, y couldn't I do this myself. I asked , what had I done to myself. I prayed for understanding. Today, my rainbow after the storm has come.

This post is very long, I felt it would be selfish to not share my truth. I have a wonderful support system, and my husband has been great. Oh. Fyi. I am 35 lbs down from my last weight in before pre opt. I wish you all luck.

  4. I'm on my diet and it is hard. I keep myself busy and have about 8 different flavors of gum. Lol.

Let me be very honest. Im not hungry. I just dont like being restricted. I dislike preparing my husband and family meals. Well, it does keep me busy. I have been tempted to lick my hands a couple of times. Lol. I have to laugh about it. On the 10th, I will be going under and need to think positive.

We can and will do this. With prayer and support, we can do anything.

  5. I am so excited for you! My final appointment with the dietitian is on the 17th and I feel the same way, excited about being sleeved and loosing tons of weight. Being denied is constantly lingering in my mind, I'm trying to block those types of thoughts. Once I get the approval I will finally be able to breath again lol. Keep us posted on your journey. Did you have to do a supervised diet for your insurance?

How did everything go? Has your paperwork been submitted? Wishing you the best of luck.

  6. I bought three favors of the Bariatric Advantage chews. Caramel, Lemon and chocolate Peanutbutter.

I actually like the lemon and caramel. I have an almost whole bag of the choc pb to get rid of. That is the only one I didn't like.

I also have the BA preop chewable Vitamins. Don't care for the flavor. I will be looking into other Multivitamins when I use these up.

Cala, the nutritionist gave me samples of the lemon and berry. I have been taking the Caltrate petites. Thanks.

  7. Postoperative kinda sucks, but the medications make it bearable.

I haven't been to the support group yet.

Don't have a weight loss buddy yet either.

    I am in Adairsville.

I'm in Dallas. How far is Adairsville from Rome. The support groups are great. They are on the first Monday of each month.

We can be phone and chat buddies if you like. The journey thus far has been interesting. Lol.

  8. Dr Scott did my sleeve on Jan 22. Everyone at Floyd treated me really well.

The shakes taste good, but I never want to see a chocolate or strawberry shake again!

I went home the afternoon on the day after surgery.

You just put a big smile on my face. I have had a great experience with Dr. Scott and his staff thus far, but this is my life. It helps to here a successful ending from someone who had surgery with Dr. Scott.

Thank you for this awesome feeling. How is post opt? Do you attend the support groups? Do you have a weight loss buddy?

  9. I was submitted to insurance on 1-15-14. I have BCBS of Alabama insurance. Should receive my approval soon and then I will get my surgery date. I'm pretty sure it will be in February. I'm in Chattanooga, TN. We're kinda neighbors. I will have my surgery at Memorial Hospital. My doctor is Dr. Jaime Ponce. I would love to be your buddy. Message me anytime. We can share our journeys with each other.

    Dana

Dana that sounds great. Can't wait for you to get the call, that makes it official. Awesome.

  10. Anyone scheduled for a February Surgery date? If so, who is your doctor? What's your location/hospital? Who is your insurance company? How long have you been on this journey? And if you would like a buddy?

I'm 32 years old in GA. Dr. Scott will perform my surgery. Surgery date is 2/10. Location will be Floyd hospital in Rome GA. Aetna is my insurance company. They approved the procedure in 7 business days. I started my first information class in September 2013. I would love a buddy.

    Have a great day.
