    Stomach pain from water

I'm 5 months out and water still makes me cramp sometimes. Especially if I take a big drink, or if it's the first thing I've drank for the day.
  2. I went ahead and got my engagement ring sized down 3 sizes, but still haven't got my bands sized down. It was only $20 to have to sized, so I figured that wouldn't be too bad and I could do it again. I also went kind of small. I got it sized super snug and now it's already a bit loose.
  3. Ok so something I've noticed over the past few days. My boobs look freaking huge now. They haven't gotten much smaller and I guess in comparison to the rest of my body. It's kind of freaked me out a few times. I'm not complaining though.

    URGENT SUPPORT NEEDED!

Done. Although everyone of my state representatives is an idiot so I'm not sure how much good it will do.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Had an NSV I didn't expect. I packed for vacation tonight and my clothes didn't take up the whole suitcase. They actually didn't even take up half the suitcase. I guess that means I can just bring more clothes with me right?
  6. I was having issues with mine too for a while. I believe mine was reactive hypoglycemia. If I ate something like a banana it would drop really low.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Kind of an NSV I can feel my collar bones and hip bones now but they hurt! My collar bones are so sensitive! I'll be vacationing in Charlotte next week and going to carowinds to ride roller coasters all day which another huge nsv for me.

    5 year history

My friend is going through the process, she just started. The thing is, she didn't have health issuance until recently. She can prove she has been over weight for 5+ years, that's she's tried to diet ECT...but she doesn't have 5 years of weigh-ins. Anyone know what will happen in this situation?

    5 year history

Thanks for the info. She tried to get it from our surgeons office, but they've been going through staffing changes and are very unorganized. It would be unbelievably annoying if they weren't suck great surgeons.
  10. Have you tried couch to 5k? I'm also trying to run, but haven had much luck so far.
  11. Well I know you posted this a while ago, but did you figure out a name? I was wondering how you're doing? I know we talked on some threads closer to when I had my surgery back in March, and with august fast approaching I was thinking about you. Hope everything is going well and good luck with your surgery.

    When to purge old clothes

I got rid of almost everything presurgery which was a mistake but I wanted to purge. Now I've just been tossing stuff into a pile as it gets too big for me. That pile was huge I've split it up now into things I can consign, things to give to a friend who is in the process of having surgery, and things to donate.
  13. It happens. Take your vitamines, get your protein but there isn't much you can do to prevent it. As someone else said, the anesthesia contributes, as well as the malnutrition. Mine falls out constantly but I still have a head full of hair and most people can't even tell.
  14. The cup size on a 44D is still going to be bigger than the cup size on a 38D. That's what I've gone from, my chest has gotten smaller, but only a bit. I actually didn't even buy new bras until a few weeks ago and strangely enough most of my old panties still fit even though I'm down over 80lbs.

Preop: Got grocery items for discharge

Lol I loved tomato soup presurgery and now I will NEVER eat it again. It didn't make me sick or anything but I got so sick of it and one day I tried some that had been in the fridge two days and it was horrible. Never again.

    No disability for "elective surgery"

I wouldn't worry about it. The reason you go through all the tests and classes and diets is to show the surgery is a medical necessity. All the documentation will be sent in for your short term too. I had PRK a few months before by gastric bypass. PRK is like lasik but it has a much longer and more difficult recovery. Obviously Lasik:PRK are completely elective but I got my doctor to write a letter explaining that I had frequent migraines and he recommended PRK to help reduce those because glasses weren't helping and I wasn't a good fit for contacts. It took a while, but I got the approval for it.

    Roller coasters?

If you feel up to it, I think you'll be ok. Drink lots of water because you'll probably be walking around in the heat all day. I went to 6 flags with no issue, but I was 3 months out.

    Driving

6 days out I think? Just about a mile and back. I was off the pain meds for 2 days. I drove further 8 days out and it was ok, but I was uncomfortable.

    Constipation

I eat a handful of blueberries a day. Easy on the teeth and it works really well.

How old do you think I am?

I think mid to late 20s. Although I think you look younger than me and in 27.

    Post Op March 2014

Down almost 80lbs! I didn't buy this ridiculous jump suit but I laughed my ass off with my skinny friends while we tried on clothes in the same store! We are having actives all week long at work so I've been seeing a lot of people I haven't seen in a while. I had 3 people tell me that they didn't recognize me yesterday. One of them was my coworker who I work out with every morning when I walked up to her from a distance. It's so weird.
  22. I'm an rny patient, 4 months out. I've already lost more than 50% of my excess weight. As others have said, I wouldn't worry as much about those numbers. Those are averages. My surgeon actually said 60-70% of excess weight with in the first year.

    Hair

Never heard that. Your hair is probably going to get thinner, no matter what you do, so maybe the thinking is to be as gentle on it as possible?

Worried if i should do this

As others have said this is a very normal fear. What if something goes wrong? Well the risk of complications is pretty low. You can make it lower by doing what you're suppose to do. Eating right, moving after your surgery ECT... Honestly, we can't insulate ourselves from all dangers. Getting in a car is arguably one of dangerous thing you can do, but I still bet you do it everyday. Even if you don't have WLS, at some point you'll have to be in the hospital or have surgery for some reason and it may be weight related. You'll find plenty of people on this board who went through hell with their surgeries. Who had almost worst case scenarios, but you won't find that many people around here that regret their surgeries. I'm 4 months out. It's cliche, but my only regret is seriously not doing this sooner. 7 years ago when I was 20 and my body could have bounced back easier. I could have spent my 20s so much better and I'd probably even have a better career to show for it.

    Ground beef

I don't have any issues with it as long as it's not too fatty. I eat the butterball turkey burgers all the time.
