Hi go walking. I'm having my surgery on 10/16/14. Very excited and very nervous. Have about 150 pounds to lose. I was wondering if you still get restriction without ever having a fill?

I responded to your questions but just be aware that my situation is not typical in that I've not had any fills. Because of this, I've never gotten stuck or slimed or any other issue along those lines. I also did not experience bandster hell as I had correct restriction from day one. On the other hand, I have to work that much harder to eat slow, eat small bites, and chew well.

Congratulations! My surgery date is Oct. 16. I'm feeling nervous too about surgery too. I love this site to come to for encouragement and especially the success stories. What are you on for your pre op diet?

My name is Rita, I started my lapband journey on my birthday (April 2) of this year, my insurance wanted 6 months of nutrition classes, so I did those, and now have a surgery date of Oct 3, Minus my family, and a few close friends, I really haven't told anyone that I'm doing this, and when I stumbled upon this app, and reading others posts, I feel safe to put myself out here:) pre op diet sucks but today is day 4 and a lot better then the last 3 days, I have a huge fear of anesthesia, as my dad passed away while he was under, but I'm pushing through all fears and doing something for me, I have a wonderful supportive husband and we have been married almost half my life, and 4 beautiful children ages 17, 13, 6, and 5

Just got my surgery date, 10/16. Going to start today cleaning out my fridge and cupboards of junk food. Can't wait. Am feeling nervous. How are you feeling today after 2 weeks from surgery?

I have my final appointment with the surgeon on 1/23. I'm going back and forth. Some days I'm all determined to do it and then days I'm scared out of my mind to do it. Not just from the surgery but the whole way of life and changes that it will bring. I lost 121 pounds 4 years ago and gained all my weight back. Feel like a failure that I can't control my food issues on my own. Your story was very uplifting. Thanks for sharing.
