  1. I can't say enough good things about PSSC and Dr. Landerholm. Even Bridget the ARNP was great! I read reviews that one gal didn't like her, but she was really nice!
  2. Wait I see new charges for the docs! It says 20,000 for each of them? Crazy?!?!!
  3. Peanut butter was the first food that made me vomit post op. I was just eating a little tiny bit on its own, and my body rejected it. Oh how I used to love peanut butter
  4. Just started next phase...finally had a few bites of toast and scrambled eggs. I shared 1 egg with my niece and she ate most of it. I'm still weirded out by only being able to eat so little. It seems like unless I'm eating all the time, I will never get that much food in to sustain myself. I know it gets better, just so strange though.
  5. It also depends on how long it takes you to eat. Some people still eat fast, while others are eating slower. I really have to think about eating slow or I have a hard time.
  6. I love PSSC! They rock! Really nice and they truly care about you.
  7. @@auntjanny I made the mistake of eating and drinking too close together and suffered awful nausea and vomiting! It's so hard! The other day my hubby said "you were watching the clock on drinking weren't you" when I began sipping my half water/half simply apple juice.
  8. Thanks Proudgrammy! I always love everything you have to say! You keep the optimism going on this forum! Yeah for our sleeves and twoderland!!!!
  9. Hey! I talked to my sister and she said if the bone is too fragile/thin to do implants in the normal way, you can get them implanted from the bottom of the bones which tend to be thicker.
  10. Thanks! It is so weird, even with only a 2 lb loss in week 2, I have to think WOW! I'm under 300....woohoo! And in such a short amount of time
  11. This is the first time in 6 or 7 years that I have been below 300 pounds! Yesterday I weighed in at 299.8!!! HW: 337 SW: 312 CW: 299.8 (2weeks post op)
  12. So I lost 10 pounds the first week and only 2 the second week. Is that pretty normal?
  13. I'm still a newb at 2 weeks out, but I'm wondering, just how much can you eat later on? Say 3, 6, 9, and 12 months? I know when I took a few nibbles of scrambled eggs, I thought to myself "hmm I better not do anymore" I think I'm too scared to try and eat more if that makes sense. I don't want a leak or any other issue.
  14. I shed a lot anyways, so I'm wondering if I will just shed more later on. My sister and I both have shedding issues, I guess thicker hair shed more? I have no idea. I take biotin daily as my nails have always just bent and broken off, I never notice much of a difference until now, and I had to stop them pre-op and can't take them until 10/3.
  15. Great job on pre-op diet and congrats on your future sleeve! I have watched so many in my family battle obesity and I ended up losing a few pounds and gaining back double over the years. My highest was 337 and I'm 5'4, so I'm like the girl on willy wonka that turns into a blueberry lol. I got down to 320 on supervised diet and that was a struggle! I lost another 10 on preop diet and last Monday at my weigh in I was 304! I haven't been this weight in years! You may have days where you wonder "what did I do to myself" but if you read on here, we all think that during the first few weeks! It really is making a huge difference in my relationship with food. Even though I am 2 weeks post op today, I no longer wake up wondering what I'm going to eat today, that behavior reminds me of my friend who wouldn't get out of bed before having a cigarette. Her life revolved around them, and my life revolves around food. It feels like the sleeve helped me break up with food lol. Now I only eat to get calories in and live! Eat to Live!
  16. My nieces and nephews love having burping contests with me even more. Now I'm constantly belching! I swear I swallow too much air when I drink out of a bottle but I'm fine when I used to use a straw...I can't wait to use straws again!
  17. If the scars bother me too much later on I will probably just cover them with tats
  18. No problem! I look forward to keeping up on your journey. It's so exciting to compare with others...and I'm a huge hypochondriac so I'm on here constantly asking if this or that is normal ????
  19. @@auntjanny I will mush my food when I eat it lol...no more blenders haha
  20. If you have a rite aid close to you the snapple packets and even sugar free hawaiian punch packets are only $1.00 each. Better than the 3 or 4 at grocery stores. You will rock your surgery! You are right, we have to take it day by day!
  21. I got packets of snapple sweet tea that are sugar free. I know it's not the same thing, but you will get used to it. I used to be a quad shot, white chocolate and vanilla breve gal, now if I have coffee it's a tiny sugar free vanilla with 2% milk. When I eat things now, some are too sweet even without sweetener. You will do great!
  22. I was sold on the sleeve as soon as I heard about it. I too was hesitant on having a foreign object and didn't want my guts rerouted, so when I heard that docs could just take out a hunk of my stomach, I figured, why not? Everyone has to make the decision on which wls is right for them. Good luck!
  23. Tea is good! I use stevia so it's calorie free! Woohoo! After my sleeve getting in liquids is easier when drinking hot tea. I stocked up on lady grey, chamomile, mandarin zinger, and a celestial variety pack. I bought an apple cinnamon one but it is so sweet even without sweetener.
  24. I packed too much. I slept almost the whole time besides walking and sipping a bit of Water. I never used my cell phone, never changed until I was discharged, never used my crossword puzzle book etc. the only thing that came in handy was my stuffed animal I brought (from my niece and nephew) and the blankie (from my nephew). I didn't use any of the water flavoring I brought either. Not sure why I pack so much, it's not like a mini vaca lol
  25. I was in 40 grams or less of carbs per day. I lost about 12 pounds. I could eat whatever I wanted as long as I was under my carb count. I honestly saved my carbs for things like 10 mini tortilla chips to crunch up on my taco salad (about 10 carbs). I drank diet soda and sugar free coffee and lots of water! I ate a lot of seasoned chicken on salad and taco salad. Even when family was eating fast food, taco time kept me sane lol. The chicken hard taco only has a few carbs, so I could eat two of those and a few bites of chili and be satisfied. I know someone posted above about greek yogurt...try the plain fage and add things like torani sugar free syrups or no sugar added jelly.
