I was there with Lora V at the same time, getting the same surgery. We drove around with Omar, shared some laughs. I met her daughter and her, and can not say enough nice things about them, they are wonderful people. I can not really comment on any of this negativity, As my expierence was rather uneventful. Omar was attentive, and simply did his job. I am not one to act or comment on hersay. I am not saying that any of these accusations posted on here are true or false. Just that my expierence with him and the doctor was uneventful. The results have been amazing. I do hope that people find some closure.
Fully agreed! But after I did research I wasnt impressed. My experience was great but when went back for dads surgery I was very very disappointed with Omar.

Hey. Welcome! Im in auckland.

Nothing happened to me. I had the best time. However when I went with my dad for his surgery everything was different.

I'm crying reading this today, i feel i've been cheated by this guy...
I feel sorry for you. I went to Dr Illan from New Zealand.
-
Some wait for up to 6 years here. I went to mexico cheaper and affordable. 1/3 the price.
-
I heard theres a long waiting list though.
-
He is a member of places but not of international ones.
-
Um for international people who are seeking a surgeon. But obviously not. I will only now send people to mexico if they really need surgery.

Having those letters would of been more helpful.

I will not give names. I have talked with another surgeon who has FACS next to his name.

All ive been told is that bariatric surgeons should have one or more of the following...
FRACS, FASMBD, FICS, SAGES, FACS after their name. Dr Illan has MD which in NZ means he is only a medical doctor. Basic surgeries only.

May you need a surgery to correct your head cause you aint right in the head. Omar was fine until early this year. So maybe do your research PROPERLY. as someone has told me. Dont we all have a past? Past is a past for a fucking reason. You dont bring past into present and future.

Who gives a shit about my grammar god damn it. You slandering a great surgeon is so pathetic and immature. Susan. Get off your high horse and go away.

Attacking Omar means your attacking Dr Illan. Your all low lifes with nothing better to do. Grow the fuck up. Get a life elsewhere. Dr Illan is a great surgeon. This thread is going to scare so many away...

Do you all know what your doing? Your ruining the reputation of Dr. Illan. Have you got nothing better to do than bitch and moan? That's a lovely life you have. Now grow some balls or what ever and shut up and grow the hell up!

There is no question as to who I am. I was Dr. Illans first NEW ZEALAND patient. He was happy. Surgery 5th December 2013. My experience was great Omar was awesome very caring. Although he didnt need to care about me as my mum was there. That was the best mini holiday ive had. Pure awesomeness.
Last month me and my dad went as it was his turn to be sleeved. But this time Omar wasnt as chirpy or as happy and caring. Which I wasnt very happy with so I just cared for my dad etc. He seemed quite distant and angry alot.. okay time to finish this before I get hammered at. You all know me im guessing. Have a great day.

I completely agree! Dr. Illan's team is just plain awesome! Every doctor came in to meet me and go over my case. They answered every question I could throw at them and passed with flying colors. They all spoke understandable and good English. They just seemed to be interested in me and my case. (As I had previous complications in US from lapband surgery). PM if you have questions.
Agreed!!
