  1. I came home from the hospital today. Thank goodness! I never started passing gas until late last night, but I just had a BM yay!!

Water and tea stayed down but the nasty lime diet Jello tried to come back up. I talked my self out of throwing up and I'm glad it worked!! I tried a fat free pudding cup when I got home and only managed to eat about 2/3 of it.

I keep sipping on the Water but I don't e en know if it's possible to drink as much as they want!

I'm not gonna lie, I had a huge moment of regret- why did I do this to myself?

Congrats!!! I've had that exact same thought. It gets better day by day. Ill be a month post op Monday!

  2. Dr. C should have given you Bentyl for the spasms... are you taking it? It helped me a lot. I had mild spasms, not that bad and it only lasted a few days. By day four at home I was off the med. Feeling awesome ever since! You'll do great, you had the best surgeon, just give it a few days :)

I'm sleeved!!! Wasn't as bad as I thought but there's one thing I wasn't warned or even read about..... does or did anyone get stomach spasms when drinking or eating??? And how long did I t last?!

Okay sorry it's been a bit since I posted....

He did send me home with Bentyl, Omeprazole, Reglan.

I stopped having spasms probably within a week after coming home from the hospital. Thank god. The M.D., PA and Rns said it was spasms when I would drink anything.... as soon as anything hit my stomach it would spasm. not so much gas pains... the hospital and the drs said it was their number one complaint.. the GI cocktail helped a lot too! My surgeon is amazing... I would do this all over again.

  3. I today is day 3(of 10) of my pre-op liver reduction diet. Day. 1 was a Valentines day "sweets" day at work. I managed just fine. Day 2 we came out to my in-laws in another town to spend the night. They are Italian and every single conversation is about food. It was a hard day, but again, I managed. I am laying in bed right now on the morning if day 3 and all I can smell is the damn bacon cooking downstairs! Come on people.... Really??? I can do this. I will do this.

Hey girl! I was just sleeved 2/3 w/ Dr Caruana. You'll do great... the pre op diet gets easier... I lost 14 pounds on it :)

  4. Sleeved on 2/4 and feeling really good. I have a hematoma above my large incision causing pain but otherwise good.No nausea or vomiting, sipping well. I am not hungry at all! I've been staying with my parents the last few days and they've been eating hoagies cheesesteaks, donoughts, etc and I'm not even interested. I haven't had a bowl movement but am passing gas. I'm down 16 lbs since I started my 3 day pre-diet on 2/1. I'm 5'9' starting weight was 252. This week is Clear liquids for me , so I've been drinking Propel, Water, tea with honey, Jello, and broth. I'm drinking The Original Protein XL shot 28 grams. It's really good. Next week will be full liquids like pudding, yogurt, Protein shakes, etc. I'm really excited!

you only had a 3 day pre op diet?????? WOW

I wish ours was only 3 days!!!!!--- that's awesome though ;)

  5. On day 8 of 10 ...Surgery Monday. I can tell you for me at first it was so difficult, I had the worse headaches and wanted to cheat so bad. I was dying for a friggin burger or something. I'm now down 12 pounds, and feel much better. Good luck guys!!!!

  6. Another thing is looking back at the negative things about being fat... and it completely outweighs my fears. I mean really... not dating, going out with friends, getting a better job, not fitting into my really expensive super cute clothes with tags on them... I don't even do my hair or makeup anymore cause I don't feel beautiful like I use to. I put 70 pounds on in a year, I have PCOS and I'm pre diabetic and all of my doctors have told me do something now or things will get worse. What really made me open my eyes to how bad things got was not being able to lift my leg over the motorcycle... that crushed me. The little things that all add up, and finnally made me realise it's time for change... don't be scared we are in this together... ill just going in a few days before you :) so I will let you know everything girl!!!!

  7. That's my fear too... between hair loss, nausea, and flat lining. I'm pretty much losing my mind. I keep reminding myself that I work in a hospital and just my floor alone I can get 7 post ops. People have surgery all the time... so it's a little reassuring but I just still drive my self crazy over these thoughts!

  8. This is actually a great question to ask myself after doubting surgery at times so here I go...

    1) being the fattest girl out of my group of girlfriends (hiding in pictures, not going out to bars or vacations)

    2) being told that I JUST have a "really pretty face"

    3) being asked when I am due or if I'm pregnant?

    4) struggling to wrap my leg over to get on the motorcycle

    5) hiding food anymore

    6) not fitting in my gorgeous clothes and shoes that just take up space in my closet, I can't wait to wear them :)

    7) the labor walking up and down stairs

    8) being swollen

    9) avoiding people who want to see me and I make every excuse not to see them because I got so big

    10) most of all... I won't miss being a miserable bit©h

There's much more but it feels good to just write these few down

  9. Hey guys! I'm new to this site and been having a hard time finding info on PCOS and the sleeve... I have severe PCOS and my symptoms are out of control... between the hot flashes/sweating, Hair loss, no energy, of course the weight gain..all the fun stuff. Just wondering if any ladies who have had the sleeve w/ PCOS notice any changes since surgery!? I'm anxious and so excited about my upcoming sleeve!! :) thanks!!
