  1. Normal, but try not to worry about how much you can eat. I stead, focus on the guidelines your surgeon set and get to know what the full feeling feels like so you learn to stop just before that. Truly, for optimal digestion, you want a bit of room left in your stomach or pouch.

Thanks for the advice. I feel like I eat too much but I guess that's because I'm full. My husband says I'm not eating much. I guess my brain and my stomach are trying to relate for once... lol

  2. How in the heck are we to get 60 gms of Protein per day? I have been pondering this for when I eat reg foods! I am on soft foods til jan 16th then reg !

A can of tuna is 23g of protein. I usually split the can, that's 2 meals. I also found a protein powderat the Vitamin Shoppe thats 30g of protein in 1 scoop, so I drink 1 a day. I usually get the rest during my other 'meals'. I was told to eat 5 times a day...

  3. I started making my shakes with sugar free almond milk and started pureeing fruit to put in it. I have a hard time with the shakes too. I also used low carb ice cream and turned them into milk shakes before the lactose intolerance set in. Maybe you can try that?

I crush my medication and mix it with sf chocolate pudding. It helps with the bitterness of the medications.

I drink a lot of crystal light and then switch to decaffeinated tea with spenda.

  4. I know it's boring, but have you tried running/jogging in place on a cushion or mini-trampoline? It's so boring on my treadmill, that I made a desk. It's really just a shelf board across the arms of the treadmill and some foam insulation pieces above that, so I can put my laptop on top and make posts to this forum as I walk. I can also watch videos, and play games while I walk. I think if I didn't have this, I'd set up some cushions or a mini-tramp in front of the TV.

I'll have to try the mini trampoline. I saw some at Walmart and they aren't expensive. I've got two toddlers, maybe we'll but out in some mousercise... lol

  5. How about exercise? I know, it's like a four-letter-word. But I was told by my surgeon's NUT and ARNP that I'm supposed to get in 30 minutes of cardio 3-5 days per week, and can do weights too, just not power lifting until I'm about six months past surgery. Before surgery they gave me a bunch of stretches and light exercises to do, like ankle pumps, until I could get on to "real" cardio. So I started at one minute on my treadmill and advanced it a minute a day until I got some aerobic capacity back. I've been working up to the 30 minutes--I'm at 25 minutes, 2.5 mph, 4% incline on my treadmill. And I'm sweating like crazy! I'm also doing an upper body routine with 10 pound dumbbells. Anyone else?

I need to get started asap. It's been so cold and rainy here. I don't have a treadmill.

  6. Hi!! My names Jules and I was sleeved on dec 12th! I am working on phase 2 and it seems I need some help with these Protein shakes.. I am having difficulty making one that doesn't make me wanna vomit cause it tastes so bad when I drink it LOL any suggestions?!

I've been struggling with that myself. I was making mine with low carb ice cream and milk. It tasted like a milkshake with minimal sugar. However, it seems as if I can't tolerate milk anymore so I am back at square 1.

  7. The liquid just flows through! Think about it like this: are you hungry? If you are it's head hunger! Once you get on puréed stuff you will feel different and the fullness is not like before you had surgery!

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing. I just had some doubts because I remember hearing one of the nurses say it would be a struggle to get the 4 medicine cups of Fluid in during an hour (that was required to go home from the hospital). I never had a problem. Thanks for making me feel better. I can't wait for pureed food.< /p>
