  1. So today I went to see my surgeon. I've known him since 2010! He knew me right away. He walks in and says "Hey Miss prego with the bad gall bladder!" And I was 8 mos preg with my baby when he did my gall bladder. Comforting for ur dr to remember u after not seeing him in 3 yrs and he hadn't seen my chart.... It was in the room with me! So we talked. He agrees that I can have RNY in sept! Yay!!! I have a month. Not exactly a date but I will settle for a month. He tells me that I have to have open RNY cause I have 5 other surgery scars on my tummy. So ok, I'm good with this! After checkin my belly out, he tells me that I have not one but 2 hernias that he needs to repair while he has me open and asleep. So I that's gonna add a lil more to my surgery than I wanted but whatever. I surprised him when I had all the info I have learned from this site. It was a great feeling going in so prepared. He then gave me a folder of 55 pages and told me to read over it and write down any questions I have and call his nurse and she will be happy to answer anything we wanna know! Impressive to me!!! So after my informative appt, I went and met my bariatric coordinator, she was super sweet. She set up all my classes and the psych eval, dietician, and my excercise coach appts. I take 3 classes in feb and 1 in March. And I was told that January counts as month one of the process! Great news!!! Over all it was a fantastic appt, and my dr says it will be a great journey and he feels I will do super! Woot woot!!! I'm feeling totally stoked!

    Bodymedia bodybugg

I've heard good things about the fit bit! I am actually thinking of switching to it. I just can't adapt to having a thing around my arm constantly. I'm always adjusting this thing and always moving it causes a lil it to get a lil sore. I just figured I'd see if anyone else had this issue? I'm def going to either have to get something else or figure out a way to keep from it rubbing my arm raw! Lol

    In the hospital again!

Ty I'm trying to learn to do just that. Mine seems to be brought on more so by copd exacerbation than anything. But I'm still laying low and if I feel run down, i do lay in bed and try to get extra vitamins and minerals in me. But it's hard being a single parent. However, I'm learning to get my parents help when I need it.
  5. Just a short note to let everyone know, I'm back in the hospital with another copd exacerbation! I have a head and chest cold, and now that's all flared up. I am not moving air in and outta my lungs. Keep me in ur prayers!

    What ya eating tonight?

Still pre-op here, but ha a fantastic cob salad! I think this will be a new favorite in my house! Even the 3,5,7, and 10 yr old ate it with no complaints! Score one for creativity!!

    Post op protein.

This is what I'm using! Still pre-op but my dr said this was perfect for after surgery. It's 60 grams of Protein, low sugar, very low carbs, and it comes in chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla. It's $15.86 a 2lbs tub on amazon.com or $18 at walmart. Cheap and a ton of protein in one shake!?! Does it get much better than that!?! Lol

I tried to get released today, but that just wasn't happening! Still waiting to hear from my dr. Ugh! Can't wait to see my kiddos. It's hard being the momma and not being able to see the lil ones. But at least there's a light at the end of my tunnel.

Miralax is a god send!! It may take a couple days to get fully started, but once it kicks in if u use it daily, it will be the best thing ever for u!

    my 600 pound life-pennys story

The husband is part of the problem! He was the one contributing to her obesity. If he was the supportive "man" he should been he would not have helped her cheat. He would have supported the drs orders. The reason this frustrates me so, is if this is life and jeopardy as it is for so many of us, and clearly hers, you would think a supportive mate would have tried to save her life! Not keep assisting her in her own death! Ugh frustrating!

    my 600 pound life-pennys story

I finally caught her story last night on Tlc! I was shocked at her excuses. Like u... I've never been to her weight, but have used excuses and now see how awful they looked and really are! Ugh can't believe I did that to myself! My Hw is 220 and can't imagine allowing myself to get to 600. But I guess if u don't get a handle on addiction, this is very possible. Like u said, She has proven this is not a miracle fix, it's a lifestyle change. Fried freakin wantons will certainly not help! Lmao... We all have to want it and be in the right frame of mind for sure!
