I started my process 1/13/14. I had Molina. They made me do 6 mo program. Caresource is 9 mos. So check with the number for client services on the back of ur card for their requirements. And a tip I had to find on my own....open enrollment is coming up for insurance!! I changed mine to better suite surgery. Even tho it took 6 mos...it has been a journey. It is a great program with lots of info coming ur way. (Reason for suggesting the binder) I got tons of handouts....that I still refer back to. I am so excited to be in the home stretch now....headed to the losers bench in a matter of a week!!! so excited!!! Please let me know if I can help with ur journey in the future.....its great to have info and a helping hand along the way!!!

The facility he uses is fairfield medical center....aka Lancaster hosp. They do all the bariatrics on the 4th floor. He is a great dr. I had him for my gall bladder when it went bad and I was 7 mos preg. He did amazing and even called me at home to check on me. He is a great dr and u can talk to him about any issue and hes always willing to listen and help. Seriously a good dr. Love him.

Hi. I'm new here. My primary recommended me for weight loss surgery. I'm still waiting to find out more information. (How do you post in forum?)
*Misty*Raine* replied to Adrianneval's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My advice is simple. Research and learn all there is to know about each surgery. Then make an informed decision. Its your body....your health. Listen to what ur dr says. He is very informed. He has been doing this long enuff to know what surgery works best for ppl. Hes seen it all. But in the ned.....ur still responsible for ur own decision. Dont do anything that is going to result in regret. Make sure its what YOU want. Its ur life.....enjoy and live it. -

My sister inlaw has been on food stamps and had the surgery. She goes to kroger or walmart and gets the pure Protein shake mix. And the sugar free Jello sf pudding sf popsickles and the broth cubes. She even gets Protein Bars with hers. She said just make sure the label says "nutrition facts" and not supplements. She said anything that has nutrition labels....are food. Hope ger advice helps. -
Anyone having surgery 7-15?
*Misty*Raine* replied to *Misty*Raine*'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to my ml house today and had to leave.....food smelled so good. Just made things worse. Ugh. I think my biggest problem is coming off the caffine. I am having horrible headaches and feel really sluggish. Its almost like a head fog or haze if that makes sense. I have 0 energy. Anyone else experiencing this? Or am I weird? -

hernia w/ gastric bypass? anyone?
*Misty*Raine* replied to *Misty*Raine*'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This will be my 2nd hernia repair. The first one they cut me breast bone to belly button. (Craptastic dr!) So when I opted for bypass....new surgeon was thrilled when he seen my hernia that I was opting for both surgeries. He said gastric would help keep it from comin back but without it.....it was inevitably gonna return. Mine too is very large. (Bigger than a softball) ....and into my chest. He said it was the 2nd largest of his 30+ yr career. :-/ not sure how I feel about that! Lol -
