I GOT MY SURGERY DATE FOR 7-15!!! Super excited. Did the 6 mo program....and its finally almost my turn! I gotta have a filter put in for blood clots on 7-10. Then im on my journey!!! I start my diet on 7/5/14. I am super stoked. So please tell me someone else is gonna be my surgery buddy? *praying for a buddy*

So everyone knows my surgery is tues. So this morning....I get a phone call.... my mom had passed away. I am so beside myself. Please pray for me .... I dont know how I am gonna get thru this and surgery and help the kiddos.

Today is my daughter's 20th birthday. Tell ur friend goodlum

Keep yall posted on how this goes. Really not nervous.....scared of pain....but I'll manage. Lol....Good luck to all my surgery buddies this week too. God Bless us all.

Surgery is tomorrow....getting really nervous. 5am comes early. Hope I'm ready for this.

Mine was also moved from 7 am to 5 am. Ill tale it.... I havent slept since fri.....I think I need to sleep. Lol im READY. Ty all for your support. Guess im gonna be here looking for it alot more than I had planned. Good to have great surgwry buddies too.

Ty I just lost my biggest supporter. My mom passed away friday.... we arent havin a funeral or viewing per her request. She wishes for a simple cremation. So thats what we honored. Just a hard time right now. And I guess I should be worried about dying....but that worry seems to just be gone now. I know I have an amazing dr....I am just worried about the pain associated with this surgery and the 2 hernias. I am sure I will do ok. Its just a sad time right now and with all thats going on.... im really missing my mom tonite.

So I started my preop diet on 7/5. I have to do it for 10 days. On 7/10, I have to have a filter put in. So at least that day I wont worry about food. In the meantime.....im doing my 3 shakes and 64 oz Water. Can soneone tell me if I can have sf yogart? Im dyin here! Watched my family eat steak last night and chewed a whole pk of gum!!! Help!

OMG....I am totally excited. As I sat here talking to my mom today about surgery being 3 days away....wow It really hit me. Sh*t just got real! Lol I am ready to hyperventilate! Im panicking cause what if I miss something I need to take? What if I mess this up? What if I cant lose? How is this gonna change my families world? Are they ready for this? Is this really ok to put then thru? I know I have to do this for myself to live a longer healthier life. I just need to know if this "holy crap its happening" feeling is really normal? HELP!

If u try it....let me know if it worked as well for u. Once u get used to a weaker caffeine intake... then u can switch to decaf if thats what ur dr advised. I know now that I am drinking tea....I can go to my MILs house and drunk her decaf and never feel the effects of it. personal victory!

Tho we might be from different walks of life.....we all feel the same struggles. We all FEEL. We HURT. We NEED. WE LOVE and DESERVE to BE LOVED. Dont let the scale control u. Let your personal victories be celebrated and appreciated. God bless all of us!!

I couldnt agree more. Im 3 days pre op and I have lost 23 lbs with it on my own. I cant wait for post op to see what the total is. Its def a fixture in my life.

So I have really cracked down on myself. I purchsed a fitbit one and keep adding challeges for myself. If I log 2 miles this week walking daily I wanna see 2.5mi daily the next week. Am I crazy? I also bought a body core media first but didnt care for it. I dont like having something strapped to my arm constantly. Fit bit straps to my bra and I dont even feel it.

My suggestions are gonna follow alot already listed. 1. Log all food. 2. Adequate Protein 3. Water.... body store fat if dehydrated. 4. Change up ur routine ....excersize never stops.....always change it up. Since DL told.me to log food..... I have lost 23lbs preop and have surgery Tues. Good luck and God bless.

So I remember from my hernia repair and being cut 11" down the front....the Dr used a belly band. (Tight fitting huge ace wrap) I just spoke to my drs assistant and she said u can request it or dont have to have it. Did u have one and if so was it helpful or made it worse?? I am THINKING I wanna use one again. It was very helpful last time I was cut like this. (Oh yeah, my Rny is going to be open and 2 hernia repairs.

So I went to my surgeon on 7/2. He said that I have 2 ruptured hernias in my stomach. One is above.my belly button the other about 5in to the left of it. Theyre gonna repair em both and do my gastric bypass same time. Until then....he gave me pain meds to use for the extreme discomfort. Is anyone else having this done?
