    March 14 is THE Day!

Hi just wanted to say good luck.
  6. Hi everyone My date is set and I'm looking forward to the day. There's lots of issues I'm unsure about. I've tried liquid Meal Replacement before but found day 3 I was feeling extremely stressed. The mental thing. But I know after the op that's all I can have for a while so that scares me. While food seems to rule my life at the moment I'm wondering if post op it will rule my life more? I'll be fixated on what I can't have all the time. Learning curve here I come.

    Pre Op Hospital List

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
  11. Hi Everyone Sorry couldn't help myself with subject line. I'm just had my first specialist appointment where we discussed what the 3 options are and worked out that lap banding was the best option. Costs etc I'm a bit shocked at the out of pocket expense. Was thinks it was going to be huge turned out to be $2800. My post op questions are ..... What would be the normal recovery time before I can return to work? I like swimming so I'd like to get into the pool ASAP after surgery. How long before you can do physical activities like this? How much pain will I be having? And for how long? I'd appreciate all comments.
  12. Gems in the water didn't think about. Thanks.
  13. Hi Karen It felt like the subject line fitted me at the moment.
  14. Hi Everyone. I go for my first specialist appointment. I'm very concerned about my out of pocket expenses when it comes to surgery and post surgery. I'm with BUPA and have basic hospital coverage, do I need to up it? Can anyone tell me any pitfalls they have encountered? I'm also worried this procedure is out of my price range even though I'm thinking this is very much needed. Love to hear from others in Australia.

    Australia Insurance n Medicare

Thanks to you all. I'm just scared to payout a lot of money incase I blow it and mess up. Not just my money if you know what I mean. Money taken away from family. You would think the government would assist better with this type of thing. Saves them money in long run.
