Can you still eat in restaurants?

I can't even imagine how hard that would be. Stay strong!!
  3. HW 320 CW 283.5 Seems like I stall for two days then lose two pounds, then repeat. That's a cycle I can deal with.
  4. I am only 5 weeks out, so C25K is a little premature. I wanted something that would get me walking and my friends all loved the C25K program. So I looked up the other BlueFin apps and found one called PowerWalk. It gradually increases you walking time from 20 minutes to 70 minutes. It also instructs you to increase you speed for several intervals during each walk. I have found that I enjoy the program and have really increased my intensity. It recommends 4 days a week and ups the time and pace every 4th workout (week). I'm on week 3 and have the setting so I can keep walking longer even if the workout is over. It keeps tracking the whole time and then you can journal your walk after you are done! I just wanted to share this with others who aren't too far out from post-op. This is a great tool just like our sleeves!
  5. I was dating someone I had know for eight years but only dated in and off casually. As my sleeve date approached we became closer. He was really there for me making me feel good about my decision and promising to purée food for me after. I flew out of state for my surgery and when I got back everything changed. He didn't want to talk as much, he never wanted to see me, and was totally distant. Here I was days out from major surgery and it's like I had the plague. In the end he ended up picking a huge fight with me for no reason and I said goodbye. I have settled for sooooo long and it's time to start looking for someone who will be there no matter what.

A picture is worth 1,000 words

    You look fantastic!!
  7. HW 320 CW 285.1 Slow and steady... I'll take it, when else could I say I lost 35 pounds in 6 weeks!
  8. Two weeks before surgery I weighed 320. Only lost 7 in the pre-op and 313 day of surgery. Now I'm 3.5 weeks out and down to 289.1. Yay! But I don't feel smaller at all. My clothes don't seem bigger and only the people who know about the surgery will say anything about me looking different. So, my question is: for those of you who were around my weight when you started, when did you feel thinner. What was the first NSV that made you smile and say, yes! This is working!
  9. I love that someone brought this up. Since my surgery I have had a lot of time to reflect. I realized that I was making up for my failures in relationships and friendships by doing nothing but focusing my career. While I've been quite successful, I have spent zero time focusing on me. I have let my weight, health, and confidence dwindle while I tried to identify with the only part of my life that was going well. I have decided that I want to take this first year after surgery and really become the me I should have years ago. This means taking a step back in my career but hopefully multiple leaps forward in ME!!
  10. There is an app called power walk. I started it two weeks post op and am almost five weeks out now. It slowly increases you time and you can adjust your pace as you heal. I walked a 26 minute mile the first day and couldn't even do the whole mile. Now I'm on week three and completed 1.6 miles with a 19 minute pace. Take your time, don't over do it.
  11. HW 320 SW 313 12/17/13 CW 285.4 Weeks three and four have been a slow go but since it is still going down almost every other day I guess I won't call it a stall.
  12. Finally I noticed a difference!! I was able to tie my tennis shoes by putting my foot on the bar stool!!! A month ago I'm not sure I could have gotten my leg up there let alone reached my shoe after I did!! Yay!!
  13. Work clothes would be great! Jeans, going out shirts, anything really.

    Fullness guilt

I'm only 1 month out. My doctor says it's normal and that it should subside as I continue to lose. I'm pretty sure that the feeling of fullness has meant poor choices for many many years so this will be just another one of the many changes I will go through in this journey. If it were to stop me from eating my recommended caloric intake then I will start being concerned. I am fully aware that it is head guilt, and like head hunger is something that I can overcome.

    Fullness guilt

I'm glad I'm not the only one! It's especially bad if it's a food I really like. It's funny how many parts of this process I never expected. Lol

    Post op diet stages

You can get salmon and tilapia in the freezer section in a bag of single serve portions. Just take out a packet and run under cool water until thawed (about 5 mins). Then just stick it in a non-stick frying pan on low to medium heat with a little salt, pepper, lemon, dill, whatever seasonings you like. Take a spatula and after about 3 mins on each side press it into the top of the fish. If it breaks apart easily it is done. I live off this!
  20. You look great! I hope to have results as awesome as yours. What regimen of diet and exercise did you follow?

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I am having this same problem. I have a 32oz water bottle and fill it everyday before work but next thing I know it's 5:00 and I have barely touched it. So then I try to drink a lot at once. Which takes forever.
  22. Non Scale Victory. I am excited for my first one. I'm down 31 pounds from 320 so hopefully it won't be that much longer til I get one!!!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

So I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing the yoyo scale? I'm down a pound for a day or two, then up a half or whole pound. The next day it usually goes back to lower than before the gain but it really depressing to see gains when I'm eating 500 calories and walking a mile. Grrrrrrrr.

  25. I haven't had a stall where I stop losing for days. It every couple days the scale goes up almost a whole pound. The next day it is usually down a little lower that before the gain but I don't understand it. It's like two pounds forward, then one pound back.
