  5. Yes, this sounds very dangerous! Can you get in to see your doctor sooner?
  6. I was banded 4 days ago and ever since then I have been feeling like I want to burp, but the belch wont come up. I can feel it go back down and then burn in my chest. This happens SEVERAL times a day. When I go walking I get this huge relief like I am about to bur, then it just goes right back down. I feels as though there is a clog in my throat and it will not allow the burp up. I have passes gas a few times, but no relief has come of this. I am still in a LOT of pain. Has anybody else experienced this? Any suggestions????
  7. I can totally relate! I got banded on Thursday and I have no restriction in my band. This is because i was told that they want to give my belly time to heal before I get filled. My first fill is 02/21. My appetite just came back and my stomach growls like crazy. I have been getting in about 4-6 cups of water and my protein is really gross to me now. I am so confused.
  8. I'm lost also. How do I upload my picture?
  9. God is good! I'm so happy for you!
  10. All I can say is...Wow! You look Amazing. Keep up the great work. What an inspiration!
  11. I tried that even before joining this forum. It's exhausting , Houston being such a large city, doesn't help that matter! But on here it is so much easier. I research each and every doc that someone tells me about. As for Dr. Mirza I asked them and they said not in the foreseeable future.
  12. Good Morning all! So I just found out this morning that I would have to pay $4900 more just to have my surgery through Dr. Mirza in Houston because he is out-of-network for me. This is what I was afraid would happen. First off let me just say, that I am sad about this because I wanted my surgery though him. But I simply cannot pay a total that on top of what I already have to pay out of pocket. If it were a smaller amount then it may be doable. I am convinced that there are some good quality doctors in this huge city! Is there anybody from Houston that had a VSG done. What's the name of your doctor??? And on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest), how would you rate them...honestly. Thanks for any help.
  13. Wow! Keep up the great work! :-)
  14. I have a feeling that it will be very difficult on the liquid or puree phase for me because I have children that I cook for everyday.
  15. Oh noo! I hope you are doing much better by now
  16. Well wishes for your surgery! Yes, his team is awesome. I went to them last year 2012, but was declined by UHC, now I have UHC through another employer and I am covered! I guess I will find out the difference at my appointment. Hopefully it's not too much of a difference. But on paper through my insurance, I added up a difference around 4,000 just about.
  17. Okay so I got a call from Dr. Mirza's office and they told me that my insurance will cover the procedure, but that they are considered out of network for my provider. Now I am sure that they will answer all my questions when I have my first visit with them on the 10th, but I am curious to know what this means for me. I have a higher deductible for out of network providers, so I am not sure at this point if I want to go in for my appointment with the office. I did some research and found that he is a great doctor, but I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on something that my insurance has agreed to cover. So does anyone further along in the insurance process know what this means? Will the hospital charge me more as well? Do you know of any great UHC network doctors in Houston? I would love to keep Dr. Mirza, but I just can't see myself paying thousand's of dollars more than what I would already have to pay.
