  1. My experience was great. Fuzz was my surgeon, he was the only one at that time. It took me about about 6 months or so to go through all of the pre-requisite items they have you do in the program. Was banded on Nov. 28th 2007 and I'm down around 140 lbs total. Best decision I ever made. I still have around 50 or so that I still want to lose, and it's been the hardest part. I've been having some heart issues this year, so I had an unfill a couple of months ago. I can't explain the difference the last couple of months have been, I've really struggled. I had a heart ablation last month so I'm going to get the band filled again in January, and I can't wait!!

  2. I had surgery last Nov. 28th and went for my first fill on Jan. 9th. The doctor told me that he put 2cc's in during surgery and he put an additional 2cc's in during the first fill. As I was driving home I started getting sick and all afternoon I wasn't able to keep anything down, including Water. They had me come back in that afternoon for an unfill and now i'm sitting at 2.5cc's. I can tell that I have some restriction because I have to chew really well, and I have to watch what types of foods that I eat. If I eat slowly, I can enjoy almost anything that I want, and I never really seem to feel a full sensation. I'm now trying to consume mostly Protein and watch what I eat because I know that I can over eat, almost like I could before, given that I chew well and eat slowly.

I've read that alot of people feel full after eating small amounts, and I'm wondering if this comes with more fills? I either get a sensation of something being stuck after the first bite, or nothing gets stuck and I never really feel full.

  3. Hey, I also got my band on the 28th. I'm doing pretty good, I'm kind of weak because I haven't really had much to eat or drink. I was to be on a clear liquid diet for the first 4 days, but I could barely get any Water down. It has been getting better and today I was able to eat a pudding cup. I'm going to try and drink a Protein Shake this evening to try and get my energy up. I'm seeing all of the food commercials on tv and they're killing me...haha...it's not that I'm hungry, I just want one.

  4. I had my surgery on Wednesday morning around 10 and had to drink some kind of solution in front of an x-ray machine to make sure everything was working properly before they let me go home. I'm home now and I'm on a clear liquid diet for the next week, followed by a normal liquid diet for the next 3 weeks. I'm having problems swallowing very tiny sips of Water and I'm supposed to get down 32oz. today. Every time I swallow I can feel the liquid go down and then a small burp and I'll feel a little better, and it's a little dis-comfortable while the liquid is going down. I'm hoping that this is completely normal because of the swelling in the stomach and that it's going to get better. My doctor did tell me that I'm a little tighter than normal before I left the hospital yesterday. Did anyone else experience anything like this?

  5. Hi everyone.....I made it through surgery and i'm back at home now. I believe everything went fine and I was up walking around about an hour after surgery. The band is extremely tight and I can barely get Water down right now. Every time I take a sip of anything I can feel it go down and then a little burp after it passes. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping it's because of the swelling inside. They told me that I might have to do the Clear Liquids for a couple extra days to make sure the swelling has gone down before doing the liquid diet again.
