I know I'm going to have the same issue. I can be sooooo good all day but nighttime hits and BAM!! Those evil munchies overtake me.

I know many of you eat emotionally. After banding, did the compulsion to eat still come over you, though physically you couldn't accomodate it? How did you deal with that? What did you learn?

I've been reading that some people already feel a somewhat of a restriction after the surgery. So after the post op diet and all that, would any of you say that there was definitely a difference in how much you could eat even without that first fill?

LOL!! It does suck!! I won't be looking forward to that at all. I have so little as it is.

Yeah I lost a lot of hair with my two kids and I'm not happy about repeating the process. LOL!! But I guess there are worst things like being 100 pds overweight!!!! I look forward to becoming part of the bandster family!!

I have to say that I've read a few threads about Hair loss and I am quite concerned about that. Is this true for only a few of you or is everyone going through this. I was under the impression that since the stomache is intact that there would be no nutritional deficiencies so I find this side effect quite odd. Can anyone give me some input on this?

How stringent is this requirement about showing proof of supervised weight loss programs? What would suffice as proof? If it was Weight Watchers for instance, what do they want to see? Registration books?

I'm sooooo glad I bumped into this website. I'm going to my first lap band information seminar in NJ. I'm so ready. I've been trying desperately for so long to lose all this weight and I feel hopeless. I've 120 pds. to lose. My BMI is over 45. I have to admit I'm a quite terrified at the though of it and more terrified still that for some freaky reason I won't be qualified to get the surgery.
How long does it take to get everything scheduled? What happens first?
thanks for this board!!!!

I'm surprised. I've been lurking for a while and I haven't seen anyone with a low BMI be blasted.
2 cents: How many of us wish we would have stopped the weight gain at 190 by getting the lap band? I think if any one of us who would have known what we know now, would have gotten banded. I firmly believe in my own case, the issue is not about getting a measly 50 pounds off, it's about fighting for the rest of my life to get it off. If it were a perfect world, I'd come to terms with my eating and what causes it. But it's not perfect and I may never really master it. I just need a tool that will help me cope with the ramifications of it while I deal with the emotional aspect of it. I think the band is a great tool for anyone who may be spiraling out of control. To say I wish I was that BMI is pointless because when YOU WERE you didn't stay there or take care to stay there right? I think it's a brave thing when someone sees where the road is heading and takes measures.
If I could back to when I was 190 lb. and the band was around I would have gone for it...
