    So, this fasting stuff works.

I don't believe everyone's sleeve stretches either. If I eat to much at one sitting it hurts like hell! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  3. This is a support forum...regardless. I do understand too. I see less newbie negativity on this forum than any other....that is why I joined. Being 4 yrs out and have gained some of mine back....I really like the WLS Veterans section. I may reply to other post but most that really doesn't concern me...I just pass by. You have a lot of wisdom to share....and believe me....talking in forums can be so misunderstood. Because of my bipolar my communication skills are affected...in real life too. So I am learning to choose my words so I don't hurt someones feelings unpurposely....not that I am not expressing my true feeling or thoughts...just teaching myself a different way to communicate. BTW... repetative questions from newbies get on my last nerve. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Premium protein drinks

I have not found a flavor I don't like. You can get a variety pack of 15 for 16.00 if you call Syntrax. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  5. Throw or give the scale away. That is what I did to break my habit of weighing everday. Now I have some and rarely use it. I use my clothes mostly as a guide and of course at my doctor visits every 3 months. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Vicious Cycle

I do the 1GM per inch of how tall I am....5 ft 6 in...so my minimum is 66 GM per day. I have short term memory loss due to a combination of my bipolar and fibromyalgia...so I focus on the day and the moment. If I make notes...I forget them...lol. 7. When I was 23 I weighed 188. Never went below that again. At 50 I was touching 300 lbs..so many diets...was a member of Weight Watchers 12 tmes over the years and can't recall all the names of other diets I tried. So I went to Mexico and had my sleeve done....best decision I ever made. I am bipolar...diagnosed two yrs ago. I got off track and some meds made me gain some weight...but I am back on track now and losing again. I wished the sleeve would have been available when I was 23. I have not regrets and really do understand you. My doctor in Mexico was Dr. Almanza. I have heard good and bad about them all...do your research and follow your heart. 8. I agree and I understand. My goal is 175 and if I don't reach it...oh well...my lowest was 182. So I know I can get there at least. 4 yrs post op GS...it is what it is. That is one reason I only focus on my daily Protein intake...if i kept a liquid or food diary that is all I would think about all day and everyday. So don't be hard on yourself...roll with it. 9. My body can't handle that much water...but I drink a lot of tea. If I drink that much water my body retains it and swells me up....but the tea doesn't. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  10. BTW....I still can't eat much at one time or it will hurt...so I don't think mine stretched at all. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  11. I relate. I had my GS in 2012...lost118 lbs and got back to my old habits too. I do not exercise...one because I don't like to and two because of the same problem as you....and also other health issues. I have had one total knee replacement and need the other one done...but I went through hell with the first one and don't want to until I have no choice i the matter. Recently I finally found a Protein drink I absolutely love...Syntrax nectar. So I have given up sodas, don't eat anything white, no sugar...only splenda and I don't count anything daily but my protein. I am 5 ft 6 in so I follow the 1 Gm per inch of that and I get a minimum of 66 GM of protein per day. I am losing again as I had gained back 20-25 lbs. I was eating at night...I am bipolar so I wasn't sleeping properly. Now I finally found a med that let's me sleep. I drink one of my Protein drinks before I go to bed. I am not a big Water drinker either but I count all the tea I drink...which is quite a bit in this 100+ degree weather here in Texas. Don't beat yourself up...you will find what works for your body. Sleeve vs bypass

I think that is between you and your doctor...if you have ins coverage. I did not have ins...so I chose the sleeve because I wanted my body to stay as natural as possible...plus I did not want to take all those Vitamins the rest of my life. I have known others who chose the bypass or the lap band...we all have basically experienced the same things post op. It boils down to every body is different and I believe that ultimately the choice is up to you and what you choose to live with the rest of your life...because all WLS's are just that...for life. 13. I am lactose intolerate and have IBS-D... the Syntrax nectar is working for me Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  14. Being 4 yrs post GS...I did not track anything but Protein. I can't drink 64 oz of Water a day because it makes me retain Fluid and I am swollen. Now that I finally found Syntrax nectar....I had given up on Protein shakes because they all tasted awful to me. I tried a food diary but that made me think about food all the time...I am disabled so I don't work and don't exercise either. Everyone's body is different. I thought I would never give up sodas...but I have now and no longer crave them. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  15. I was on depakote a while back, that was a true weight gainer for me. I looked up what seems to be a wonderful Psych ARNP that does med management close to me. I'm going to call my ins company to see if they cover second opinions, which I'm sure they do. Anthem so far has been awesome. Who knows, maybe my doc will call in the Prozac and I'll give that a whirl to add. But, I truly want off this. 16. My weight gainer meds were for my fibrimyalgia and some of the antidepressants...which did not work for me anyway. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  17. I relate too. I have been on prozac for many yrs. Tried others like the ones mentioned but they made me gain weight too. I am 4 yrs post GS. 2 yrs ago I was dx bipolar...you cannot imagine the mess i tried and gained weight. Now I have a wonderful cocktail of depakote, prozac, and valium. Now i am losing again and sleeping much better with my moods much better stablized. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

  19. I had my GS done 4 yrs ago by Dr. Almanza in Tiajuana Mexico. My husband went with me but I can tell you we were treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. We were never left alone. I had a friend who went alone and had no problems. I would do it all over again...no regrets. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    4 years post op-vsg

I can certainly understand. Logging food is not my thing...my bad habit was the drinking requirements and not being able to find a Protein brand I liked. I am lactose intolerate and among other things have IBS-D. My daughter told me about nectar and I am amazed at the taste...I absolutely love it and so does my body. I started out at 298...lost down to 182..now back at 205. Some causes was meds I no longer take but I can tell this protein brand is working for me. My goal weight is 175...I had my GS 01/16/2012. Great job you are doing! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Protein-whats your favorite?

I am 4 yrs post GS. Have tried many protein brands and just gave up on finding one I liked or my body accepted. My daughter told me about Syntrax nectar....I am hooked! They are the best for me. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  22. Are we not able to delete mistaken post? Also when I go to my profile it says I have not shared any info about myself....I did tell my story. Is friending someone available on this android app? Thanks in advance! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  23. I appreciate you sharing this info. I sooo miss my margaritas! Lol. I can't drink them no longer because I was diagnosed Bipolar 2 years ago...so my meds doesn't allow alcohol. I am also unable to exercise...one because I hate it and two I have too many physical limitations. I do love to walk but my bad knee and spurs in my feet take care of that. My story on my profile tells my weight issues. I know you will get this all figured out. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
