  1. Congrats! Much success to you! You will do great.
  2. They used that right after sx so I know they have it there. I will ask before my next appointment. Maybe if I went through my insurance and they could bill them each time they would use it. I paid cash, so maybe they are trying to cut corners? Hmmm
  3. I strayed a bit. Made egg drop soup the first week. It was fab! I am on solid foods now. Eat a scrambled egg every morning with no difficulties at all. When I went for my first fill appointment I was 2 lbs ahead of schedule! Everyone is different.
  4. Thanks! From the talk here, I assumed it was normal and was expected. I eat right. I mostly eat fresh veggies, and cold water fresh fish. Lots of sashimi too. I guess this stuff just doesn't get stuck? I haven't had much restaurant food yet. Will go out to lunch tomorrow. We will see what happens. Thanks again for the info.
  5. Fine. But I dont feel a real restriction. And I get hungry often. Should I call them in a week or wait until my monthly appointment?
  6. I am 4 weeks post op, and i think the gas is getting worse? This can't be!
  7. My sx was 12/16. My first fill was on Monday. Not once have I experienced this. I keep reading about it but it hasn't happened. I am down 24 lbs today! I am so excited. Wen they filled me, they made me sit up with the needle still in place (painful) and had me drink a cup of water slowly. It started to make regurgitating noises, so she took some fluid out of the band. Is this normal?
  8. I had my first fill yesterday. I finally feel better. Not hungry. Yea!!!!! At least for a while, I suppose. And I have noticed that bra thing too!
  9. Congrats AP! I am one month post op! So happy for you.
  10. Omg! My boyfriend calls me the jet stream! Lol. Its constant! Dang!
  11. Houston is known as the fattest city in the country. I live in Houston. Thinner women make more money. It's true in Texas. Not sure why. Texans don't like the frumpy look. It's not cold much, and women don't have to cover up. Jeans are the normal attire. And it pays to look good. I don't make the rules. And I don't follow them. I chose real estate and to be self employed! No person is going to chose how much money I make but me! If I work harder I make more money. Simple. But, Houston, we DO HAVE A PROBLEM!
  12. Banded 12/16. Down 21 lbs. first fill is 1/13. Tonight I ate quiche. Crust free. I thought I would be ok bc it's egg. It sat on my stomach like a brick. Tonight was the first time I have had an issues with something I ate. Actually had mild stomach pain. Never eating that again.
  13. My sx was 12/16. I can feel it. And when I suck in my stomach it goes in deeper than the rest of my belly.
  14. Omg! I had potato leek soup tonight! So good!
  15. You eat the egg. It makes a ribbon like cooked egg in the broth. I also made a big pot of Paula deens chicken noodle but left out the noodle, I would just purée my serving in a magic bullet blender. THAT was the best. So flavorful and yummy. So much better than canned soups.
  16. Also take a can of cream of Chicken soup. Prepare as directed on stove. Let cool. Add one can of canned chicken. Then put in a blender. Very filling! Lots of protein!
  17. Home made egg drop soup is the best! Google the recipe. I'm 18 days post op.
  18. My dr said aspirin causes band erosion.
  19. Day 4 I finally have some relief. Thank God for the Z PAC and robitussin DM. The coughing really scared me. I hadn't really coughed since surgery and this was constant and hard coughing. My doctors appointment for my first fill is 1/7. I guess if I am in no pain, I just assume nothing has moved or has been damaged. Do they do any barium or ultrasound on your first fill to make sure it's still in place?
  20. Has anyone else gone through this? The constant coughing jolts the band and is quite painful to the healing stomach muscles. Not a good time. ????
  21. Today I made home made Paula Deen recipe for chicken noodle soup. The best soup recipe ever! Starting from boiling a whole chicken, ending with adding cooking sherry, and 3/4 cup whipping cream to the giant pot! I will purée that and have it as my Christmas dinner! So yummy! I am also cooking a turkey breast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc for my fiancé to have for dinner. I really am ok with this. Surprisingly true! My whole live was centered around cooking. I spend 2 years in culinary school. I went a week with out cooking post op. I wasn't sure how I would handle it. Apparently I am just fine with it! Fiancé is so happy! I am very hopeful that I will be able to not be distracted by food. It's a very nice feeling! Finally. Merry Christmas to all of you. Wishing you all the best success for 2014! Feeling blessed!
  22. Back atcha! I survived the Christmas Eve spread of food at my sisters house last night. I will tell you, I was really watching HOW MUCH FOOD people eat! Literally! I was disgusted. That helped me a lot.
