Day 5 and sharp pain!
Did you have someone do the hard rapid tapping on the area where the gas is? It truly worked for me. Got the gas out immediately.

5 days Post Op
My blender is my very best friend right now! I will also take chicken, chicken broth, all kinds of cooked veggies and throw it in the blender. Yummy. Need lots of broth though.

5 days Post Op
I'm 8 days post op. I figured out to take a can of creamed chicken soup. Make it on the stove. Add one whole can of canned chicken. Then let cool. Then I purée that in the blender. It eats like a full meal. Very full, and full of protein. I don't eat the entire amount. Eat on it through out the day. I was starving the first 5 days on clear liquids. Thought I was going to die! So much happier now! I also take regular soups with chunks and purée them. Quite good. Also, google Egg Drop soup recipes on the Internet so easy and a great satisfying meal.

Post-op diet (first 4 weeks)
My doctor advised me against high fat, high calorie and high carb choices. Personally, I would avoid ice cream, mashed potatoes and juice. I have made my own soup to puréed as well. Chicken broth, lots of chicken, celery, green onion, broccoli, and Lima beans to make it a bit creamy. Carbs in Lima beans, so I go light on them. Salt and pepper to taste. It's actually pretty good. And good for you. You should experiment on some home made choices. You might impress yourself.

Weight gain the first week?
I make a can of cream of chicken soup then add a whole can of canned chicken breast. Purée in a blender and you have calories and a ton of needed protein. I eat it in 2 meals. I have V8 as a snack. Low sodium. I am one week post op. the first 3 days I felt so weak, like I was going to faint from starvation. I don't know if I am the norm, but I was hungry right after surgery!

One week since banded 12/16
You have lost 3 lbs since 11/22? Is that correct?

One week since banded 12/16
I was on clear liquids and protein shakes for the majority of the first week. I'm now on thick puréed soups and I even took part of my fiancées dinner tonight and put it in the blender with fat free chicken broth. It's baby food consistency. It wasn't bad. Got full very quickly. 4 bites.

What to expect in first week
My surgeon put a small patch behind my left ear before surgery. This was for nausea. They told me to keep it on for 3 days. I wasn't nauseated at all! It really helped. I did tv have to take gas x either. The hard tapping got the gas out of me.

What to expect in first week
I am 7 days post op. my fiancé did rapid, hard tapping on my back and shoulders for the gas pain. The gas was gone after he did that. I only had gas pain for 24 hours. Yes, sick of the sweet. I am on the soup diet now. Adding chicken breast to everything for added protein. I put the soup in the magic bullet mixer with the chicken to purée it. Not bad. Drinking V8 too. I haven't had any problems. Down 15 lbs today. Good luck with your surgery and keep us all posted.

Banded this Morning
Be prepared! He also nicknamed me "The Jetstream" after the gas was releasing! Oh my! That's all I'm gonna say! But seriously, the rapid hard tapping worked immediately!

One week since banded 12/16
Always spoil yourself! I fully believe in rewards! I can't wait to buy my first pair of $300 jeans and tuck my shirt in! I started at 245. Down 15. Can't wait to buy jeans! I made myself a promise, not to buy clothes until I reach 199.

How much have you lost?

One week since banded 12/16
Thanks for all the great advice. I feel like I'm starving! Seriously! I felt this way day 2. It's been a week, and I started puréed soups yesterday. That's a little bit better since I am so sick of artificially sweetened chocolate protein drinks! Yuck! I'm adding canned chicken breast to the puréed soups to add more protein so I don't have to drink anything chocolate. Ok, so I will feel starving until the fill, correct?

One week since banded 12/16
I am down 15 lbs! I was only "uncomfortable" for 2-3 days post op. It's very hard during the holidays. I don't know what to do with my hands at holiday eating events! Habits die hard! I just want to pick up the food and put it in my mouth, like everyone else. I have to stop myself and redirect MY HANDS. There is more thinking to this during the holidays, I think. Maybe I timed my surgery wrong? Maybe I should have waited? Either way, I am making the best out of it. My kitchen has been spotless for an entire week! That's something to be proud of! My first fill will be 1/7. What should I expect? What does pb mean? I haven't vomited once since surgery. Not even in recovery. I don't want to vomit. I hear its pretty much a done deal once the fills start. Any advice?

Help! Banded This Morning.
I had bad upper back pain from the gas until about midnight last night. Fiancée tapped and rubbed my upper back for an hour. The gas was released and that was it. I'm much better today except for the abdominal pain. Trouble rolling over in bed a d sitting up.
-
Just got banded yesterday!
Thanks! It's my work picture. When does the abdominal pain go away? It's hard to sit up from a flat position. Hard to roll over in bed.

Just got banded yesterday!
So far so good! Not bad gas pain at all. Was done at noon yesterday. Came home around 2. Had some bad pain in my upper back around midnight last night. My fiancee tapped and massaged my back for an hour, then I was able to release the gas and I have been fine ever since. Pain meds are helping. I'm on the shakes today. I haven't vomited once. Not even right after surgery. I hope it stays this easy.

I'm going in tomorrow at 8am for my lapband. Looking forward to changing my life! Scared.
Thanks y'all. Really excited. Just worried about getting back to work! And the gas pains. When you take the gas x, how exactly does the gas get out of you?
