How do you get followups when you have surgery out of the US? I have always wondered that.

    frustrated :/

Your body is still adjusting and trying to shed all the IV fluid they pumped into you. No worries, stick to the plan and it will happen...

    Overeating

end of week 3 yesterday and my doc still has me about 400 calories..
  11. Did your doc say you couldn't still take the Imatrex? I used to take those for migraines. Also remember, aside from migraines, not drinking enough water will cause a headache.
  12. I would say definitely talk to your doc and maybe see a Nutritionist

    Anyone having trouble with friends?

If instead of saying "I can't have it"...you said "I am full, I don't want it", that would really throw her for a loop......

    Anyone having trouble with friends?

My family all live in another state except for my hubby of course, and my son and daughter about 1-1/2 away. My daughter is overwt and supported me in the beginning but now is combative about it. Her and her husband wanted to bring fried chicken (my fav) here for Easter and I said NO but they could certainly go eat it there. So far nothing has bothered me, I have made nice meals for my husband, including bacon and french toast, popcorn, omelet, and lots of other things. Went to the movies and watched him eat his big popcorn and smelled it all through the theater. But I just don't want to smell the fried chicken..I have told very few people that know me, and none of my family out of state. I didn't want to deal with their opinions and the "why can't you just go on a diet". I figure it is my business anyway. Funny how most socialization is built around drinking or eating and we never really notice it until we start our new life.

When did you start eating meat?

I was surprised at my two week post op when my doc said I could start eating soft tender cooked meats with no sauce on them. I had made my hubby some bison stew in the crockpot and it was so tender. I also have had about 1/4 oz. grilled bison burger. You just don't want it to be dry..always tender cooked. Last night I cooked him a steak on the grill, I ate a couple of bites. No problems.....what does your doc say??

    Gas

when did you have surgery. You can take some Phayzme......
  20. Judy, to me it's really impressive you're eating over a 1,000 calories a day. I struggle to eat 500-600 a day. I rely on my protein shakes for the bulk of my protein. Would you mind sharing what foods you're eating that you like the most and tolerate the best? Thanks, Sandy To me, that is a lot of calories but I am not that far out. Right now ending my 3rd week, I take in about 400 cal a day, by doctors orders.......strangely I am satisfied. I went to the movies today with my husband and he had a large popcorn and a soda. I had my Protein Drink and a bottle of Water, BUT the looser fitting pants I had on made it ok...
