Alright I had the bypass January 7, 2014. Yesterday I was down a total of 39lbs. This morning I wake up to see I "gained" 3 pounds. I'm still only eating 2 oz. My bowel movements are irregular and I had the implanon birth control inserted in my arm 2 weeks ago so my periods are all messed up. But whyyyyy does my scale say I GAINED 3lbs!!!! It's so frustrating....

So it's been about 2 1/2 weeks since surgery. I have definitely had my ups and downs. I ended up with a horrible UTI when I came home from the hospital and that lasted for about a week. I am over the mashed potatoes, Beans, applesauce, and yogurt. I can't eat all 3 meals usually. I am having trouble getting all of my Protein down. It makes me sick to my stomach. BUT through all of that I am a happy girl who has lost just about 30 lbs, 29 officially. I have my first post op doctors appointment on Feb 3 and hopefully get the all clear to move to the next food level. The 2 oz fill me up, but I am more than ready to add some chicken and texture to my food options!! I know each day gets better! Nobody said this was easy..... And I'm well aware of that but I didn't realize how much I relied on food. Not just fast food, but the snack crackers during the day! It's really pathetic how much I miss going out to eat...hahaha

Well I was able to come home today!! So exciting, although I'm a little overwhelmed! I'm still pretty sore and my belly makes this funny noise and feeling. It's like it's talking to me. I ate my first FULL liquid 2 oz meal today which was mashed potatoes!! I've walked a good amount but I am pretty tired. A hospital is not a time to rest that's for sure. I'll talk to you guys soon!!

Good Morning! So my surgery was at 1:15 yesterday. I was back to my room by 3:30 or 4:00. I ended up having a drain put in to one of my incisions but I wouldn't even know if it was there. Since my surgery was so late in the day I have to stay 2 nights. I didn't sleep much last night. I was up and walking by 6 pm last night and have been walking about every 2 hours. I've been eating ice all night long but they are getting ready to pass out Breakfast. Which I'm not too hungry. I am still very sore. I wouldn't expect any less though. I will keep updating as new things happen! Thank you for all of the wonderful thoughts!

No I don't but I will probably just write about it on here. You should follow @dreamscometrue. I had the pleasure to meet her at a class we had to go to but she's been writing about how everyday has been since surgery. It's very interesting, helpful, and encouraging!!

I don't have to start my diet until the day before! I've just gotten over a bad stomach bug and haven't had an appetite for a week now... Getting a jump start on the weight loss! (wish it were that easy!)

January 7 seems so far away, but I know it's so close. I'm ready for my new journey! I'm ready to be able to sit on the floor and not have to worry about looking like a beached whale while trying to get up. Haha!! I'm ready to go to the gym and know there's going to be progress this time. I'm ready to be able to go shopping at regular stores and have options. so much to look forward to!!

My pre op diet doesn't start until the day before surgery. A light Breakfast, Clear Liquids for lunch and dinner!

It's really a comforting feeling that people my age have WLS. I haven't told a lot of people, but I'm slowly embracing it!
