Hi! My name is Katie and I'm 29 years old. I've struggled most of life with weight gain and tried every diet in the book. I'm a third grade teacher and also teach dance 4 days a week. With my busy schedule I turned to fast food because it was easy....and I hate to admit this...I just love it! Well, I finally got to a point where I couldn't take it anymore. Tired of getting dressed every day and hating what I looked like in the mirror. I hated that I couldn't demonstrate in my dance classes because I am so overweight. A parent at the dance studio had it and looked great. That's when I started doing my research. After speaking with this mom I tried to check out my insurance but of course it wouldn't cover the surgery. I decided I didn't care because I was and am so ready for this change. I save about half and financed the other half. I had my gastric sleeve surgery on Thursday, December 19 and can't wait to see where this journey will take me.
