I also have PCOS and I am hoping to get sleeved in January. I have period issues and fertility issues. I have heard of PCOS patients doing better with the RNY and I have heard of them doing just as well with the sleeve. I decided on the sleeve because the malabsorption issues of the RNY scared me. I look at it as this -I will lose weight with the sleeve, and any weight loss will help my PCOS. I may not lose quite as much or quite as fast but as long as I am healthier! Good luck on your journey whatever you choose!

Just curious if anyone used an abdominal binder post op and if they recommend it. I had 2 C-Sections and I LOVED my binder and I lived in it for like 2 weeks.

I am right there with you. All my stuff was submitted and I am waiting for the call. I am hoping to be done in mid to end of January. I am nervous but excited. I need this kick in my ass to get my life back on track and I want to be a good role model for my two boys. I want better for them then what I have become. And it will be nice to be able to run around with them come summer time. Where abouts are you? I am in MA.

Lol thanks Arts! I don't plan to hide in any closets

I am a labor and delivery nurse and I work 12 hour shifts. I am hoping to be sleeved in January. I can only really afford to take 2 weeks off so I am hoping that is all I will need. But when I go back I will just be hanging with the babies in the nursery for a couple of weeks which is kind of like light duty. Good luck to everyone!

I feel the same! My hospital boasts that they have never lost a WLS patient. I keep fearing I will be the first!! ????

I am here in MA, hoping to have my sleeve in January. Everything pre-op is done, just waiting for review and approval. Waiting game!

I am in MA. They have to "review my case" before I can be approved. I have no idea how long it takes. I am hoping for surgery in late January.

Hi there everyone!
I am a 31 year old married mother of two miracle boys. I have finished all my pre-op testing and I am currently waiting for a surgery date for my sleeve. I have PCOS which is a hormone related endocrine disorder that places women at high risk for diabetes, infertility, heart disease and obesity. It also makes it very difficult to lose weight. I am wondering if there are any PCOS Sleevers out there who can share how the surgery has affected their PCOS symptoms, if at all. Thank you all for any information and all your inspiring stories!

Hi massguy, good luck with your recovery! Are you "mass" guy cuz you are in mass? I am just curious cuz that's where I am. Looking at surgery probably next month in Boston. Hope things are going smoothly for you!
