1. I know that she had complications during surgery and they ended up having to do an open instead of laparascopic and remove her gallbladder at the same time which they didn't plan on doing. She died within a week or so after. I haven't received any information on the cause of death yet. I kept in contact with her daily via MFP. Her family hasn't mentioned the cause on Facebook and I didn't want to be the one to ask. I wasn't aware of any other medical conditions prior.

  2. I have heard of this happening but mostly during the liquid eating phases. Even heard of people pooping the bed...personally I am a month out and neither have happened to me. I have had relatively normal BM's and my farts are the same lol. I wonder if she is eating something that simply isn't agreeing with her or if it is related to said colon problem. 5 months seems like a long time, I'd be going to the doctor.

  3.
I am 4 weeks out and last night had worst experience with roteissere chicken, .. it was horrible felt bad for about an hour, sweats and chills and severe nausea. I have to slow down when I eat. I have been on soft foods since my 2 week post op visit. I am struggling getting protien in.. I lost 18.5 at post op visit but have only lost 4 since then. I guess I am on a stall..... frustrated. Any one have any suggestions for soft food

I threw up chicken last night. So far only a bad reaction to crab and chicken.

  4. The slower you lose the less excess skin! That's good right! I have always been a faster loser with any program or diet I have done. I think it's partly because of my age.. I'll be 24 tomorrow. But you really need to get that Water in to flush out the ketones. For those of you who have that nasty flippen taste in your mouth, tastes like metallic or an aluminum can... I have found the more water I drink to flush out those ketones the better it is. I'm not cleared to go back to the gym yet but I have a black lab who keeps me busy on the leash and I've been parking far away and taking the stairs every chance I get.

  5. Not everyone dumps for a month my dr had me on something with close to 30g of sugar, including the morning after surgery... And two weeks following... I had no problem as far as getting sick.. I just didn't like it because it was too sweet for my tastes.

  6. I'm in the same boat. I had my sleeve on March 19 and weighed 226 (I had list 14 pounds on preop diet). It is now April 6 and I weigh 218. I haven't lost a pound in four days. My husband says I'm having a pity party and thinks I'm eating too much. (Yesterday I had 603 calories). I am feeling pretty low.

Tell him to eat 600 calories! Like really! REALLY!!!! Gah, hang in there and stick to your plan, it will move. Don't let others around you who dont understand discourage you any further, stay strong.

  7. I'm starting my second week with purée foods but I had a question is chili from Wendy's ok????!

Yikes...i love wendys chili...but dont think you want to introduce any spicy foods at this point....of course you would have to puree it...but thinking the sodium content is too high as well...you have to slowww down hon...im anxious too to have reg meals but think of this 6 month period of changing your lifestyle....not sabbotaging yourself.....you can refrain!!!

I started adding Tabasco sauce in my purée phase and had spicy chili, didn't bother me

  8. Hi Stacy I live in southeast Portland. I just had Rny done on march 24, no regrets!!!! So happy for you... It is so surreal to watch yourself evolve :) congratulations. If you need any support or a workout buddy let me know!

  9. I had an awesome phone call today moving me to the next stage of food (was supposed to be on Monday) I cried. Lol so emotional. Anyway I had like no food because I've been on liquids. So I scrambled up some things and made a tuna mousse with double Protein cream cheese I had. Some lemon, a tsp o sour cream just to moisten (didn't have mayo), dash of Tabasco, some pepper... Put a tbsp on a cracker with some melted cheese and it was heavenly lol ahhh substance
