How much time to take off of work?

I was told 6 weeks!! I thought that was a lot for laparascopic.
  2. Oh my, please come live with me and cook for me lol!
  3. Like you said everyone has different amounts. My surgeon and nut recommend 60g of protein a day and 1200 calories.

    Kidney stones FML

I am in the ER having a stone attack. Omfg worst pain in my entire life. I have endured some pretty odd injuries but nothing like the pain of a kidney stone. I had my first one in October 2012, this is my second and I swear it hurts worse this time.

    Highlights and waiting post sleeve

My dr and nut told us in our pre op class yesterday to wait 6 months before dying our hair. To use gentle shampoo like baby shampoo and to not use heat on our hair( straightening, blow drying) and to stay away from products with chemicals. He straight up told us biotin would not help, he said we are not deficient on it, we are not mal nourished, it's from quick weight loss and stress from major surgery. He said the only way to prevent it is to not have rapid weight loss or surgery, and if we enjoy our hair, don't color it for 6 months lol.

    March 12th here I come!

They are having me drink boost, but if we find alternatives that are equivalent in nutrition facts then they are ok. You are wanting a meal replacement drink for the pre op diet not just a protein shake.. Ask your doc if there are alternatives?
  8. My dr counts from my high weight when I started the program a year ago. And he said the more weight I lose before surgery is "money in the bank" and that the percentage of excess weight I should lose is calculated from my weight the day of surgery not my previous high weight. I had the same questions lol

    Kidney stones FML

If I can't pass it naturally in a few days then they will do shock therapy. They are keeping me comfortable with pain meds now, all I wanna do is sleep lol.

    My 600lb life

I want to see that episode!!! Lol ugh

    My 600lb life

I started watching Fat Doctor since it has full episodes on YouTube and it's a good alternative if you don't have TLC and can't watch my 600lb life. It does seem a little more graphic, the episodes I have watched are all open surgeries and they show a lot of the procedures. The surgeon was literally pulling out the "guts" and cutting them right before my very eyes!! (I tried closing one eye, but it didn't make it any less graphic lol) all in all good alternative.
  13. You have done amazing!!! You are literally Half of the old you! I plan on saving my favorite fat pants for comparison lol.

Wow that is incredibly fast! Congratulations! Are you self-pay?

    Marijuana

Right because everyone who smokes marijuana is using it as a crutch? Because it has no medicinal properties what-so-ever? Get educated. Also not everyone is obese because of an addictive personality. Your hasty generalizations and ignorance is unwelcome.

    March 2014 Surgery!

They had me fill out a questionnaire on a tablet asking about physical emotional abuse as a child and currently... Then she printed out my results and went talked about how I rated on a scale is 1-10 for anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I have all of the above but she wasn't worried about it, she said the majority of people do they just want to know how you are coping (not with food) or about your medications. Also she wanted to make sure I had a good support system. That took about 30 min and half was the questionnaire.

    Embarrassingly clueless to working out!

The best piece of exercise equipment for you, is something you will use. I started doing 33 min on the elliptical because that is all I could do and it something that I didn't dread but actually enjoyed using. Do something that you will come back and use again. The treadmill had too much impact for me to start and I could never get comfortable on a stationary bike.

    BILL ARRIVED

So thankful for insurance. I have to pay 0$, not a copay or anything. 100% covered. I wouldn't be able to have this surgery without it!
