I am newly sleeved as well. In fact I am 12 days out. From the research I've done, the sleeve is the way to go. There does not seem to be that huge risk of gaining your weight back. In saying that, of course, we will still have to make healthy choices. I have heard of people having to be re-sleeved because not enough of the stomach was taken out in the first surgery. I don't think I would be interested in that. Although this has not been a bad experience for me at all. I am very happy with my decision and would do it all over again. My doctor said you would really have to try hard to stretch your stomach after the surgery. I'm just going to continue to listen to my body and try to understand when I'm full to stop!

This is the very best thing I've ever done for myself. I've always made sure everyone else had what they needed or wanted, but I decided it was my turn. Had a wonderful experience. Dr. Ponce did my surgery. I was at Hospital Jersalem. I was a little afraid at first. However, the staff there is wonderful and then you begin to meet friends. I went all the way from Mississippi alone. I had no problems. In fact I hated to leave. My coordinator was amazing. The doctors went above and beyond caregiving. I have nothing bad to say. I hope everyone else has the same experience. If you have questions, like i did, I'll be more than happy to help ease your mind. Good Luck! Mississippi Girl

great to hear that. i am flying to Mexico tomorrow, surgery monday. was getting cold feet a few days ago. glad you are doing so well on your journey.

Hi all, sitting here reading all of these posts and they are filled with hope and excitement. i will be flying out in the morning with surgery on the 10th. i will be having my surgery at Jerusalem Hospital, and the doctor is dr. Ponce de leon. Has anyone ever heard of either of these? I was a little anxious, but seem to be more excitement now. I pray all of you have a safe journey and wonder surgery experience. I will be thinking of all of you and will update you as soon as possible. I am packing and do not have a clue where to start. I can't believe it's here…...

I know he is with all of us thought this journey. I am using Jerusalem Hospital, with either Dr. Jose Luis Curiel or dr. Ponce de leon. thank you all for the encouragement! ana, i was so happy to hear you would do this all over again. when you say know what signs to look for…..what do you mean? i do feel that i know my body pretty well. i know when something's weird happening. obviously i have a problem with knowing when to stop eating though. so i have to wonder how well i really do know. i am to leave sunday. i feel as though i will go through with this….yet not 100% have any of you ever heard of either of these doctors, dr. Ponce de leon or Dr Jose L. Curiel? what about Jerusalem Hospital? Would love to hear your thoughts. I will keep you all posted. love from, Mississippi!

I am scheduled for the 10th of this month. have been super excited until tonight when i started seeing all the horrific problems some of these people are having. my heart breaks for them. this should be a wonderful experience to finally be free from this weight issue. now i have a zillion other concerns. praying for the best for you!!

i am scheduled for the 10th. was a little nervous, but not too bad….until i just read all the posts about leaks and the horrific problems these people have had. i am really nervous and doubting myself now. need some encouragement….please!!

yes, God is good! i am scheduled for the 10th of this month. however, i just got finished reading about people that get leaks and it really concerns me. i am really going to do some heavy praying to see if this is what i need to do.

I am scheduled for surgery in Mexico on the 10th, which is this coming monday. after reading all of this, i just don't know. i know there are risks with anything. this really makes me wonder…. i am so sorry for those of you that have had such a horrific experience. this should have been so different for you. i will forever think of y'all and keep you in my prayers. i just don't know if i should do this. my husband knows and is on board, but my children do not…they would raise all kind of cain with me over this.
