  1. Are we supposed to avoid Pasta because our new sleeve can't always tolerate it or because of the carbs?

Also, I've been getting really nauseous in between meals. It almost feels like my stomach is completely empty, which is causing me to gag and almost throw up. The only thing that eases it is if I eat a cracker or hard pretzel. But I'm worried about the carbs. Can anyone offer any input?

  2. I'm 4 weeks post-op. A week ago, the scab on my biggest incision fell off. It was oozing yellow Fluid and was red around the edges. It was about a 1/2 inch deep and 1/2 inch wide. I could see inside of it. It was just a hole in my belly. I was really scared. I sent a pic to my NP. Wasn't sure if I should put more steri-strips on, use bactrim or keep it covered. My NP wasn't alarmed at all. Se said not to use bactrim or any ointment, just keep it covered with a band aide or 2x2 gauze pad. She said that there was probably some fluid behind the scab, which is why it fell off and started to ooze. I'm just keeping it covered with a band aide and it seems to be getting smaller. I wouldn't worry. But definitely, take a pic and send to your dr so they can be the judge.

  3. That's great advice! And congrats on the 10lbs! I'm down a total of 20lbs. 17 pre-surgery and 3lbs since surgery. Not sure if that's good or not, but I'm trying to not focus on the weight. My focus is getting my fluids, Protein and walks in. If I focus on that, I know the weight will come off. Well that's what I'm telling myself anyway.

  4. I'm still having a lot if abdominal pain. It's not gas, so I think it's my incisions. Getting in and out of bed is terrible. I'm walking around the block everyday and trying to so up as much as possible. I suffer with chronic back pain, so it's making it much more difficult to sit up.

I'm also not even close to getting my fluids. I can eat about 2oz of Jello at a time. I'm trying pudding now, and I've gotten a small spoon full in. Anyone have any tips on getting closer to my Fluid goal?

Please tell me it's going to get better soon. For some reason I was expecting to be much better by now.
