I have a14 band also, don't get discouraged it took me a long time to really feel it. Just remember everyone is different. When my dr did my fills he never put large amounts in they were very small. 4 years later I still am getting fills still loosing slowly, but hey I will take that.

I was banded April 26. 2012 . And since the beginning of liquid diet I have only lost 33. Am I where I should be? Am I expecting too much? Dr says I'm loosing at the perfect rate so that I don't have extra skin later to take of. But dang I really thought it would come off quicker. Thanks' date='

Slow weight loss is not unsuccessful' date=' it is just slow. Slow weight loss is good for many reasons. You will get there. Be proud of your success! I was a slow loser. It took 4 years to lose 90 pounds. I am now recovering from a Tummy Tuck, lower body lift and breast lift. My life has truly changed. The 1st 60 pounds were easier to lose than the rest. I had to get serious to lose the last 30 pounds but it was so worth it.
Keep it up. It is worth it![/quote']

If you have' date=' how long did it take you? Any advice to those who haven't reached goal yet. I get so upset with myself when I read about other success stories and here I am still not at goal or even close 6 months out.Starting weight 286
Current weight 250[/quote']
Hi I am 4 years out and still not at goal. Everyone is different, I just read there stories and take advice. Don't get me wrong I do not regret having the band I am a slow looser, lol. Maybe if I didn't sabatoge myself I would have reached my goal sooner, but hey I didn't . So over 4 years I lost about 80 lbs and still loosing my doctor didn't put any fill in til like 2 months after surgery and I still get fills And just dropped a few pounds this week. So remember slow and steady wins the race. As long as your not gaining its all good. Take a step back and start from scratch again. Try the 5day pouch diet. So good luck with your journey I hope this helps.

I would give my dr a call. I had my surgery 41/2 years ago and just started with acid and nite cough went back to the dr . He gave me a couple options one was take some out ( fill). Be very careful take acid meds and no eating or drinking after a certain time at night , that I had to play with for awhile. But I am happy to say I didn't get the un fill and I haven't had a problem in over a week now. I went back on liquid for a few days then mushies and now eating normal again. Minus eating after 6 and drinking after 7. Good luck I hope this helps.

So glad I saw this and I am not the only one out there struggling!!!!! I was banded October 2007 .Lost about 75lbs . + 5 -5 . I gotta get my act together.

Its not the easy way out, its a tool we still have to work hard to drop weight. We still diet and still excercise, and still struggle.
I dont feel exactly like that but i feel really uncomfortable when people compliment me on my weight loss like I dont deserve it bc I took the easy way out!!!

I have to say, I am a slow looser very slow.I did not thought i was gonna stop loosing myself..Well its been 2 1/2 years and I am still loosing slow sometimes I dont have a loss. Just stick with it, dont give up and dont worry what other people think. remember you did this for yourself.Good luck on your journey.
Usually, I feel good when people compliment me on my weight loss, how good I'm looking, etc. But sometimes, like lately when I haven't lost anything for a few days, or God forbid even gained a pound, I feel like a fraud-- it actually makes me feel guilty and discouraged! I think these wonderful people are eventually going to be disappointed cause I just may stop losing forever!!
Has anyone else felt this way and found a way of getting over it, other than feeling bad about yourself til you eventually lose again?

rice will do it to you.....

That is why i decided NOT to tell anyone, only my husband knew. It was my decision, I did not need anyones negativity to try to change my mind. I may not of lost alot like some banders (I am a slow looser)But what I have lost Has not came back on and for that I am very happy for my choice. and I still don't tell or explain to anyone only a few people know and thats how i like it. Good Luck and dont let anyone discourage you.

Well I went cold turkey when I had my surg. also. I would drink about 4-5 cans of d. coke a day sometimes more weird things were happening to me. But once I stopped they stopped I have no desire to even take a sip But recently discovered that I cant have caffeine when I tried to drink a caf. hot tea ,(That i also gave up with the soda.) and those funky feeling came back I new it was the caffeine.

I hear you loud and clear. I had the surg. a little over a year ago, I am a slow looser i lost about 60 lbs (hey but i loosing)When I read how much other people lost I think what am I doing wrong? Nothing everyone is different. It is gonna work dif. for everyone. As for you can do it on ww, Well maybe you can I couldn't. This is the longest I stuck to a program (ha ha ha)I laugh because yes I am human I do cheat but I cant get carried away like I use to. I cant.Well good luck I hope this helps you out.

I have been banded for almost 6 years. It wasn't quick by know means I am a slow loser. But I haven't gained any back. I haven't had any complications from the band and I do not regret doing it at all, before I did my band I also did a lot of research I wanted to know what to expect and other bandsters experience with that everyone is different, I remember reading horrible stories but then again I read a lot more successful stories. I am sorry of the band hasn't worked out for you, I wish you luck with the sleeve. I just figure I would share my story.
