It will change your life. I wish I could have back all the money I spent on pills, shakes, programs, etc. This is the only thing that worked.
I know some people thought my start weight was not "that bad" but it used to require non-stop vigilance to maintain a 14. Now I'm smiling in a size 6, on my way to a 4. It's still work, but you actually get RESULTS so the work doesn't feel pointless.
My husband was also not huge but had struggled so much with weight since childhood. Now he's almost to a healthy bmi. We are saving a lot in food budget, lol.

Hi! I totally went through this. One night I nearly sobbed and told my husband I couldn't stand always being queasy. But it has gotten SO MUCH BETTER. I am 5.5 months out, and rarely get nauseated, though sugar still kills me.
I have a few go-to foods that never make me sick. Caprese salad is great--something about it settles my tummy. I also have good luck with refried Beans. bread is rarely my friend.
It will get better, I promise.

Hmm... Get all your laundry done now, because you won't feel like it when you get back. Other than that, just relax and pamper yourself a bit. Dream about how great you'll feel buying tiny sizes and knowing that you're healthy.

I was sleeved on a Thursday, a second surgery on a Friday due to a blood clot, and back at work on a Tuesday--and I am a big wuss. I was doing a mix of desk/walking work, though; someone who does physical work would want longer.

I'm 5'3" too and in my 30's. My arms are a tiny bit loose, but not to the point it'd be worth fixing. The skin seems to lag behind fat loss a bit. My tummy doesn't hang down, but the skin looks crumple and grosser as I lose. I will plan getting a Tummy Tuck, but everything else is ok.
I don't think there's much you can do to control it one way or another, kind of like hair loss.

I was obese for no reason at all. I like food but I'm not addicted to it. I have had a fortunate life and none of the horrible issues so many of you face. Not particularly an emotional eater. I have a good income and access to whatever fresh healthy food I want to buy.
Really, I just think I don't need much food to live. I can maintain weight at 1,000 calories. I know that every diet expert out there roars how impossible that is, and spouts bs about starvation mode and thermodynamics (which they woefully misapply), but I lose 1-1.5 lb a week eating very, very low calories. I WOULD NEVER have lost this weight by just "eat a little less and move a little more" nonsense.
Mainstream public can understand all types of human biological variability--but can't accept that two identically-sized humans could extract calories to greatly different extents.

I went to dr illan at BajaBariatrics.com
His coordinator Omar is amazing and gets back instantly. My husband and I both liked the dr.

The closest thing I can compare it to is "baby blues." You are a bit tired, a bit sore, a bit emotional, but overall it's a good thing.

I get a tightness in my chest when I'm full. It isn't painful, but it is warning not to eat even one more nibble.
When I get hungry it feels more or less like it used to, but I don't get hungry often. I'm 5 months out so I can usually eyeball a correct portion.

I can't believe it's even a doctor controversy considering how many sleevers have this. I can't even LOOK at ice cream without shuddering because I got dumping from it twice before I connected what was going on. I don't even like sweets now because I know I'll get the sweaty I'm-gonna-die feeling after two bites.

It never fails to make me giggle.

I forgot to mention we have two little kids. They basically eat wag we do, but we eat less than a 3 and 4 year old!

I had a blood clot. It was the worst pain imaginable. I will be wishing you well.

I'm so sorry. I had a few complications and a not so great first month, but it did get better. I hope someone will have comforting advice to share. Hang in there.

That's really interesting. One day they'll discover the mechanics if the whole thing, and it's not as simple as "willpower" or "calories in/calories out" or the whole thermodynamics rule that people misapply when it comes to weight loss.

I'm not a dr, so I'm going to struggle to explain myself, but I personally believe the sleeve causes some physiological changes beyond just restriction.
For example, lots of people are much colder after the sleeve, even before they've lost weight. For me, almost immediately my palate changed and I like different flavors now. I wasn't really an emotional eater but I did like food. I still like food, and appreciate a delicious meal but it's...different.
So the sleeve won't change if you're eating for emotional reasons, but you might be surprised at the chemical changes that change your approach to food. Hope that kinda made sense...

Oh man popcorn. I love it but there is seriously no shut off for it. Same with salt and vinegar chips. Can't keep em in the house. Sugar makes me sick luckily.
