Hi there! I'm from Western PA Somerset County! I am post op day 5, surgery was August 11th by Dr. Moon.

I'm having my surgery tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!
Hi there, I'm having surgery too!! Tomorrow at 6:00 am.... Feeling like it isn't real yet, I feel a little down and anxious, little snippy, I guess that's my nerves !!

Hello, I'm having two huge things occur within the next two days, my birthday and my 20 year class reunion... Question is may I have wine Saturday night? Getting sleeved on Monday!

I am so happy to say the peer to peer review went well, I AM APPROVED!!! AUGUST 11th!!! These last few hours were so stressful, I was mentally psyched, physically prepared, scheduled my vacation days off for these weeks . When I heard denied I fell to the floor, I was devastated. But after the review and my wonderful nurse I am back on track to have the surgery on August 11th!!!!!!!!!!

Kristigo, I'm very sorry to hear this has happened. HOWEVER, most of the peer to peer reviews I've read about result in approval. Please hang in there. Your reasons for wanting the surgery have not changed. And that's why you try. ((hugs))[/quoteI was told that the dates of the appointments are what caused denial, so hoping they get that straightened out...I'm just depressed...however Cigna told me I meet all the other criteria which is great!

I just heard from Cigna I was denied. As I sit here in tears, I was told last Friday that everything was going thru, that I should start the preop diet. Well here I am on day 2 of this DAMN liquid diet and have been told that the doc needs to resubmit paperwork and have a peer to peer review, why do I even try!!!!

I've seen people on this board talk about Quest Protein bars and how good they are. I've even seen a few people say that, for them, these bars are a trigger food and that they couldn't keep them in the house; but I could never understand it. To me, Protein Bars are the kind of food that you tolerate or choke down, but never one that you crave. Until this weekend, when I had my first Quest bar and now I get it. Those things are delicious and I could totally see myself over-eating them!
Really? I thought they were gross and disgusting and had a hard time with one. Just can't do it.

Hello there, Wow it's great to see someone from my area on here! I saw your location and am also from western PA!! However, I am just beginning the process, I have decided on Lap Band surgery. Can you tell me a little about your initial visit to the doctor. I am scheduled to go to an informative meeting on December 5th. Back in 2008 I began the process, but decided to hold off and wait, we were trying for another child. I remember meeting with the nurse and then with the psychologist but that was when she told me that it may be a good idea to not have the surgery since I had some doubts and was actively trying to conceive. Just wondering if anything has changed. How long from the initial visit to the actual surgery? I am 37 and weigh 297 and am 5ft 9in, I'm hoping to lose weight and have better health. Hope to hear from you!
