New Here
I am newer.....almost 7 week. The post op phase is easier than you think. Just have a plan in place. I did a lot of Protein drinks and split pea Soup. The hair, I read it was a similar loss as a women has after child birth. With you already having 2 kids you know......it isn't "that" significant. So that is what I am expecting. I had a hard time feeling hungry at first. I always a pure Protein Bar in my car now JUST incase. If I forget to eat I get sick and sleepy. Like I said I am 7 weeks out....I feel like I have several options to eat. I honestly can't wait until I can have raw veggies and fruit....that will make me VERY happy. But otherwise...........LIFE IS GOOD! Best decision ever. My treat daily is a healthy choice frozen greek yogurt. Loose skin is something I am also concerned with as well I don't have an answer for that. GOOOOOD LUCK and welcome.

Mixed responses/directions.... Which is correct?
It takes me about 15 minutes.....if I am out to eat I try to spread it to 20-30.

Kinda cheated........... :(
Well not kinda....I guess I did. I went out to eat with a friend at a new Japanese restaurant. I was good and bypassed my favorite sesame chicken because it was fried. However my meal (Kung Poa Chicken and Veggies) came with 1 fried wonton, 1 fried shrimp, and 1 egg roll. I 3/4 of the wonton, the shrimp, one bit of the egg roll, and a few bits of the main meal. I did stop when I felt full...............I am just bummed that I gave into the temptation. I did stay away from the fried rice but next time I need to see EVERYTHING that comes with my dish. If the food wouldn't have been on my plate it would have been much easier. I am really hoping to get below 220 tomorrow......that is my first goal. The next is under 200 and so on and so forth. OK had to confess thanks for listening.

To tell or not to tell?
I am 6 weeks post op, I also only told close friends and most of my family. People are noticing and commenting on my weight loss now. I tell everyone I see a nutritionist and am on a high protein and healthy choice diet. I also tell them I literally measure all of my food and work out a few times a week. Unfortunately those who have never been over weight OR those who have never had the surgery don't always realize that WLS is not an "easy" way out. It is a tool that helps you loose the weight. We have literally made a life changing decision as our stomachs will never be the same surgically. With all that said........I do not plan on telling my co workers or random people. I am so happy with my decision and all of the compliments I have received....it is none of their business on all the tools I have to loose the weight because ultimately....I AM DOING THIS!

How long were you out of work
I took 2 weeks off only because of the drainage tube. I would have went back earlier if it came out before.

I had my surgery Nov. 25, I have lost 25 lbs and got a stall this week. It is very discouraging...,.. I hop my scale starts moving soon. Any weight loss is OK with me I am OK with only lossing 25 so far. It is my tool not my magic bullet. Good luck.

Do you order a plate of food?
I order my own and eat the left overs later. My hubby and I don't always like the same thing. If I did like his I would just ask the server for anextra plate to sshare. In my opinion you don't need to explain to your server why you are sharing. I have been a server for several years and actually it is very common.

Tried soft foods... Totally bummed
I personally started with ground turkey seasoned, crockpot chicken, tuna, eggs, etc. When I did move on to pork and beef I made sure I added extra juices or gravy.

Help Please! Haven't been able to eat or drink
A "fill" is for the lap-band correct, I don't know a lot about that but I did just have a co-worker who had the lap-band had a similar issue, she didn't go in right away and the doctor said it could have gotten really bad. Her lap-band had slipped. She actually had emergency surgery to remove it.

Normal Weight Loss
So my surgery was 11/25/13 as if today I am down 20.9 lbs. That makes about 5 lbs a week. Is that normal? I hear so many others loosing so much more the first month.

How long were you sore after surgery?
"Pain" I would say a week, discomfort about 3 weeks.

Nervous...hosting a Xmas Party Tonight
Luckily all of the food brought was served with chips so I could not eat it. Yay! I did enjoy a few cocktails with my friends. I stayed hydrated and drank Water all through the night as well. So I did have some unnecessary calories but I rarely drink so this is the 1 out of 5 times a year for me.
