    Tired after eating

You're very right about all of it... And I can relate to many of your comments... As well as some of the other posts... I'm fortunate enough to have a cubicle of my own and have what I need and my disposal... I need to master the new 'full' sensation and you made the bell go off... When I start to feel the restriction... As I've been sitting here working on a snack... Working and reading posts... It's given me a chance to put my spoon down and think how I FEEL several minutes after a bite not just put time between them... I actually could feel done... I put the rest away and have managed not to feel terrible... A little tired but not like I need to climb under my desk and take a nap!!! I know the process is worth it... I'm just feeling a wee bit overwhelmed by the changes I either wasn't expecting or didn't know would be so hard...

    Tired after eating

PdxMan... You seem to have it all down just right... I feel like I'm at the bottom of the learning curve and am struggling to get any of it right!!! Sometimes I wonder if it'll ever get easier... And then I read posts of those of you that have already battled it out and won and think I might just get there... Thank you fort asking the time to offer suggestions and advise... It's much needed...

    Tired after eating

I'm at the puréed foods stage. My nutritionist doesn't want me to graze all day... rather to make designated eating times that are the same every day... I do take about 30 minutes to eat my 1/4 C meal... I'm also finding that I don't feel very good after eating... Sometimes to the point of being nauceas... This has been just plain hard!!! I'm sure the time will come when I get over the humps...

    Tired after eating

Xxxafternoon... AFTER I eat... Any meal... Love auto correct...
  5. I think more than anything, I just want to get to a point where I don't have to think about what I'm supposed to eat or how much... I just do it and all the obsession gossip away!!! It's a struggle every day right now fighting what I think is hunger, what to eat that I'm not long since bored of... Getting enough of this or that... Mid January can't get here soon enough... My sweet husband is so patient with me... I can't thank him enough for his support and following my diet along side me still... I'd have gone crazy by now... Well... CrazIER...
  6. Seela... I can relate... Mostly I think I'm crazy!!! I have my first post op appt tomorrow with the NP and Friday I graduate to puréed foods... Any suggestions on what to eat... The notebook my nutritionist put together says I can have anything I'm willing to purée...
  7. I'm grateful for all the posts people have been making about this head hunger issue. It truly caught me off guard. I'm also glad to be in such good company because I also thought there was something wrong with me... Today is a new day and more protein powder and water it is!!!
  8. Yes, I had surgery on the 22nd. It's funny how I honestly thought I had researched everything so as to be truly prepared. The term 'head hunger' isn't new to me, however, I didn't know I'd lose the sensation of feeling full. I think this is where I started to run into some confusion and frustration. I realize I need more protein and to eat slower and wait for whatever new signals by body has in telling me I've had enough.
  9. Thank you SO MUCH... I was feeling that I was failing my surgery, not that my surgery was failing me. I've lost 27lbs since my pre op diet. I just don't like feeling hungry. I'm not doing as well as I could be with the protein so I will make that a priority starting tomorrow. Puréed foods start on Friday!
  10. Sorry, I should have read first. I may or may not feel slightly nauseated.
  11. I'm 11 days post op and my stomach seems to growl a lot and I seem to feel hungry all the time. I do ok in getting my water in and try to do meals and snacks on regular intervals. I feel like I'm so hungry at times that when I have my broth, I can easily have about 8 ounces without thinking. I may or may. It feel slightly nauseated but I never have a full feeling. It's almost like I have my regular size stomach still in there. My weight loss feels fairly incredible. I do, however, feel like a chow hound, of sorts.

    Just Got Sleeved 11/26

I just had my sleeve surgery on the 22nd. I have to agree that it was a rough time to have surgery as I mourned the loss of a turkey feast Thanksgiving day... HOWEVER, it was one day and has now passed. I'm still on full liquids, which is getting old but I've only got 4 more days before the puréed part starts. My highest pre op weight was 288 and this morning, 263.6. I'm still feeling a wee bit weak but post op pain is minimal now. I have another week off before going back to work. My sweet husband has done the diet part right along side me so I wouldn't struggle doing it otherwise. As difficult as the beginning part has been, the journey so far has been amazing and we both look forward to a life changing year! I feel incredibly grateful to live in a time where medical advances provide the tools and opportunity for a longer, healthier life, rather than to succumb to the health problems of morbid obesity all too early in life. Lots to look forward to!!?

    Driving our new boat 2013

From the album: Before Sleeve surgery

This is the day our new (1993) pontoon boat came home!!! Brian picked me up from work and we immediately went and put it in the water. I'd never driven a boat before!
  18. I'm 9 days post op. The day after surgery, in the hospital, I had some kind of carnation protein shake and vanilla pudding. I'm not sure I remember much else other than water and pain meds. The chap stick is really helpful. While your in the hospital, they should be providing your "meals".

    One Week Ago Today!

Thank you for your feedback... The soreness is what's getting me down more than anything... Perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel us closer than I think!

    One Week Ago Today!

I was sleeved on 11/22 as well and am experiencing a great deal of soreness. I'm also struggling to get in anywhere near all my fluids. I decided today I'd go back to chicken broth to help with getting my fluids in and that's helping. I'm hoping to hear feedback on how soon post op any of you saw the soreness start to go away and really feel better.
  21. I'm having surgery tomorrow and have been on a liquid diet since the 9th. I bought unflavored protein powder and mixed mine with chicken broth. I was allowed to mix mine with a few things so long as the whole shake didn't go over the nutritional content. So, I also added either fat free yogurt or fat free sour cream. It made a great creamy type soup. My husband was sweet to do this part with me so we didn't have to cook. Admittedly, that would've been a nightmare. Lunch time at work was kind of hard, but like many of the rest of you, cheating just wasn't an option. I found the protein powder pretty filling after the initial first few days. Hang in there, it's so worth the sacrifice.
  22. I'm glad you're feeling better! Get good rest.
  23. My sweet husband has done this pre op diet with me so I would have company. We have stayed home more to avoid the temptation of eating out. If I had been doing this alone or with little or no support, this would've been a nightmare for me. Unbesleevable1, my husband has a great thing he says when I fall down and need to get up. He always tells me it doesn't matter where I've been, only where to go from here. Done let the past pull you down. Take it a day at a time. Sometimes it a moment at a time. It's learning we CAN do it.
  24. I found unflavored protein powder and mixed it with broth, fat free sour cream or yogurt and some seasonings. If felt like I was having a nice warm creamy soup. The sugar free jello helped at work and a sugar free Popsicle for dessert at night. It gets easier and now I'm struggling to get it all in. My surgery is Friday so I'm almost past this part.
  25. I'm so excited for all of you that are having surgery today! Good luck to all of you. My surgery is Friday and so I'm looking forward to hearing how you all do! Adam, this is your story to write and I look forward to reading each chapter!
