    My sleeve Day 1

it didn't for me but u may have a more sensitive tummy with spicy stuff. Everyone is different but hopefully it will be good. Tasted like heaven after all the liquids lol The red beef u may need to wait on but mine said for mushies the meat had to be super tender. With the roast the soupy part is sinful even without the meat

    My sleeve Day 1

This one is is a recipe from my mom who makes a wonderful pot roast. Large pot roast Two packets of Lipton onion soup mix Large can of cream of mushroom soup Little bit of water Throw in some diced up red potatoes Seasoning Throw it all in the crock pot and cook on low for 10-12 hours. Once it's done take a lil bit of the meat and a lot of the soupy part and blend the heck out of it. Soooooo good! And the family gets a wonderful supper. I could live off this. Te meat literally falls apart.

    My sleeve Day 1

Day 19 205.2 lbs 17 lbs lost since surgery Getting pretty tired of of protein shakes but need at least one to get my protein in. So I've been searching the web for some recipes and came across the world according to egg face lol she has some recipes that I'm definitely going to try and I thought I would share. Here's one.... Shelly's Baked Ricotta 8 oz of Ricotta Cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 large Egg, beaten 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning salt & pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave.

    Gastric Sleeve or Bypass

I believe they say that bypass is the gold standard but I didn't go that way. I had a band and was revised to a sleeve. I'm only 3 weeks out but so far I love it! I've already lost 17 lbs in just three weeks. I chose the sleeve because I just need to eat less. But what I do eat, I want to absorb the nutrients from it. I was also not wanting to have the "dumping syndrome" that many bypass patients have. Meaning if u eat sugar, it dumps into ur intestines too fast and u get really sick with vomiting and diarrhea. Some ppl want that to happen though because it keeps then away from that kind of stuff. That's not for me though. I would rather just be able to eat a very small amount of food and lose weight. Continue your research and read all you can from real people not just studies and such and see which would work out best for your needs. There may be some bypass patients who will offer advise too or tell you the reason they chose bypass over the sleeve. It's your own journey.
  5. hahaha well we can't have that lol This is unacceptable! Surely this will go away at some point...right? I mean fat is fat so seems it would just have to. Omg what if it doesn't!! *sings* I lost my thrilllll on fupaberry hillllll
  6. I had a lap band in 2003. Fought with it the whole time but at one point I lost a lot of weight. I ate nothing solid for four months. So I went ahead and did a tummy tuck and breast lift. Then my band broke and I gained every bit back. I never regained the hanging belly because they cut it off. I did gain in my upper belly though! So I had a revision to sleeve almost 3 weeks ago. I lost 25 lbs pre op and another 17 in the past three weeks! So with these 40 lbs I've noticed my upper belly is realllly flattening out!!

    My sleeve Day 1

Day 18 206.6 lbs Weight loss has slowed down a bit now but it's still coming off so not about to complain. I have trouble figuring out this eating thing because idk if what I feel is my sleeve, or the hernia repair...?? Then the gallbladder being removed too so who knows lol I tried some yogurt today that I thought was similar to the yopa in fact looked like it was nearly the same thing but it was nasty. I threw it all out so I'm getting hungry. The hunger isn't anything like what I've experienced before though. It's just a little hunger. I thought I wouldn't have any hunger at all for a year or so but nope kinda hungry. Bummer.

I applied for FMLA. I sent all the forms to my surgeon and they approved it. I was only able to get two weeks off though.

    My sleeve Day 1

yep the bags used to be bigger but u might wanna try it before the surgery andd then after and see if u notice a difference. U can add as much water as u want to make it thicker or thinner and some good unflavored protein mixed in. I've only had the cheddar potato and broccoli and cheese so idk about the other flavors they have.
  13. Oh weird thing that happened at the health food store. One of the guys that work there asked if I needed help finding something. I explained I had weight loss surgery and was looking for chewable type vitamins. He starts in about all this stuff I didn't ask about. Started saying things like u didn't put it all on in one day, it's not gonna come off that fast either...uh huh I know... U should cut out a inspirational pic of yourself at a thin size and put it on your mirror! That way you won't give up. It will inspire you! I said well thanks but I don't have a thin pic, I've never been thin. He says what!! Never??!! Even when u were younger??!! I said nope I'm old and fat and before I was young and fat. Where's your vitamins? He stands back, looks me up and down and says girl let me tell you, u are a looker already and when u come back in here no one is going to recognize you! You're going to split the walls with your beauty! You just wait and see since you have no idea what it looks like on you cause I can see it now! Ok well he changed the direction that was going and sorta made me feel better. it was just a really weird and awkward moment with him lol strangers can just say anything huh.

yes it's in bag though as a dry mix not a can. Nothing seems to taste as wonderful as it did before the sleeve though. Very strange

    My sleeve Day 1

I actually ordered the Unjury about two weeks before surgery. It arrived in about a week. I stocked up on sugar free pudding, broth, jello, and cream soups, smooth yogurt, and power aid zero a few days before because I didn't know if I would feel like going to the store and I was afraid hubby wouldn't get the right stuff. Lol

    My sleeve Day 1

the chocolate splendor is 21 g of protein per scoop and 100 calories. If u mix it with 8 oz of skim milk u get an additional 8 grams and if u put a tbs of peanut butter powder it adds 3 more so one shake would be 32 grams sometimes I add two scoops and two tbs of peanut butter powder Bringing it to 56 grams for one shake. I don't believe that the human body can only absorb so much protein at one time. I've been reading different articles and studies that talk about how our ancestors did not break their protein consumption down into several meals. They pretty much protein loaded when they could consuming whatever kill they had. The body processes protein differently than carbs so it's not so cut and dry. So I figure as long as I'm getting my protein needs in I'm doing good. Others may feel strongly about breaking the meals up but this is just how I do it
  19. I am not a big fan if Greek yogurt cause it tastes sour to me but I need more protein so I bought several kinds today at wal-mart. I found a new one called Yopa light plus soooo dang good! It's 160 calories and 18 g of protein. I got the low fat vanilla with chocolate and peanut butter crunchies. I may never eat anything else lol
  20. oooh that sounds great. I've never seen siggis though....

    My sleeve Day 1

Day 15- 207.8 lbs Today was good I had a protein shake this morning and my yogurt for lunch. I wanted something a little more savory so for supper I heated up one of those hormel chicken and dumplings. I didn't eat the dumplings or chicken cause I'm not to that point yet but these little lunches come in a pretty thick soup like broth. Dumplings are not in my plan anyway lol I put a little butter spray in it and it was wonderful. Nice and thick and very savory. It really hit the spot! I wish I could just buy the soupy part of it. I think I will add a bit of Unjury chicken soup flavored protein powder to get my protein in. Till tomorrow.
  22. hi Crissy It's 5.4 oz maybe u can have some soon

    My sleeve Day 1

that's really the best thing to do. I researched both the bypass and the sleeve for quite awhile. I was almost certain I didn't want the bypass but scared the sleeve wouldn't give me weight loss either. But this forum has soooo many ppl post sleeve who have done such a great job at losing weight. They are very very inspirational.
  25. just that each day gets better while the swelling goes down. Just keep sipping. Maybe try something hot first, it's easier for me to get in hot soup. Good luck! I'm new too.
