Ah, makes sense! You accidentally put Feb 2013 instead of 2014 in the info that shows up on the side. You are doing great!!
Oops! Thank you!

Surgery was 2/7 and I began at 247. Today I weigh in at 200!

Please tell me the surgery date on your info is wrong...did it really take over a year to get where you are at? I mean, I would be thrilled with losing 40-something pounds in a year normally but with the help of vsg I would hope it's faster. I hope I didn't offend you, just really hoping you mi-typed the year.
No, my surgery was a month and two weeks ago. As in, February 7th...

Z28ChevyCamaro- what does your daily diet consist of? I was sleeved a month before you.
My diet consists of alot of fish and chicken and beef because I absolutely hate Protein Shakes. I make sure I get all my Protein in a day, then find low calorie and sf things when I get hungry. I don't have a set diet.

Sleeved on February 7th. I was put back in the hospital a week out from surgery due to my body trying to reject the staples, my stomach swelling, and giving me pancreatitis. All is well now. I am on regular foods. I haven't had a problem with any food whatsoever. I love my sleeve. I have lost 40 pounds so far. I can exercise, I just haven't had the time.
Congrats, February sleevers!

Anyone mind posting a picture of their scars? I'm one month out and I need a little boost to know that they won't look like I was mauled by a tiger in a few months to a year...
I had my surgery done laproscopically. I have 5 small incisions across my belly above my belly button horizontally. I also use the scar cream Insure Nutrition sends me. Just curious how everyone else healed.

I felt the exact same way. I'm a month out and only had to be on Clear Liquids for a week, and IT SUCKED. I begged my surgeon to switch to full liquids a day early. To this day I cannot stomach the smell of chicken broth.
But I promise you, as you advance your diet stages, you'll realize how awesome the journey was. And you'll become best friends with the scale!

Try taking some gas ex. That may help you.

I never had any pains. Try a different kind of Soup. Your stomach may just not like that kind of soup. If it still happens, continue with Clear Liquids until your stomach is ready.

Motrin is a definite no no that close to surgery. Motrin promotes bleeding. Tylenol is recommended after surgery. I would get to the er. My doc told me I was fine too right after surgery when I had severe cramping. Turns out I had extreme pancreatitis.
Your doctor doesn't know your body. YOU DO.

I was sleeved on Feb. 7th. I spent a week at home, followed by a week in the hospital. I was having severe stomach cramps and they eventually found that my stomach was rejecting the staples, swelling up, and pissing off my pancreas giving me pancreatitis.
Everything has been fine since then. I haven't had any more issues, except... I wake up every morning with a mouth like the sahara desert. Its so bad that my lips crack. I sleep with my mouth cracked open. I have never had this issue before.
I'm doing my best to get all my fluids in and am on the soft food stage. I still eat alot of purees and Soups. But no matter how much Fluid I get in, I still wake up with a terribly dry mouth.
Any thoughts or has anyone else had this happen?

If the pain is that bad, go to the ER. If you don't want to do that, then call your doc. You shouldn't be in that much pain.

I was told no gum because the act of chewing it and swallowing normal saliva from it causes alot of gas.

Wow. I think I may die if I had your diet! Haha! Mine is limited as well, but not three months. I can have those after a month. I know most are high in carbs, so I need to stay away.

My NUT recommends any fruit that ends in "berry". I hope that helps.
When does he/she suggest the right stage would be to have them?
-
According to my doc, immediately after surgery, any and all liquids added up to be your fluid intake.

I have a 'bariatric bible,' as I call it, which breaks down each of the recommended stages of the diet. But I cannot find anywhere when I can eat an orange or an apple... or a grape or 3.
I love fruits, and I just want to eat some as a snack. I know everyone is different, but when did some of the pros begin to devour some fruits again?

Not a question on this topic but I'm having trouble following who is who. Are some people being called by their real name and not screen name?
No. Belladonna was goeffurself's original name. She changed her username mid-conversation.

You keep saying people are off topic when they're answering YOUR question. Also, I think you should go reread all your posts. Your posts are always very know it all. We're all new to this, including you. Being rude when you don't like people's answers to your questions isn't going to do you any favors in the future.
Amen, sister!

The last two points are 100% relatable. I have certainly noticed my 'skinny' friends acting weird around me now, because guys are looking at me, and even talking to me when as before, they'd go right for her because she looked better, I guess.
I'm not complaining, tho! (;
