    Egg drop soup?...

Egg drop soup is never a problem for me, but scrambled eggs on the otherhand...total PB! I can't get eggs down any other way but egg drop soup.
  2. I have been extremely restricted and really not eating very much. My pcp and I are trying different depression meds and such for my depression and anxiety, also I have had to switch up birth control meds for various reasons and had been on my period for almost a month straight. Last night I had a really bad night, I took my zoloft and birth control then went to bed. Bad mistake, I got up about 10mins later with bad acid reflux and threw up slim. Usually I can take a zantac and be ok but I couldn't keep the zantac down. Now I am really contemplating an unfil to let me stomach rest, but I probably can't get one for at least a week since my fill doctor commutes to my area. I have already made 2 trips for emergency unfills to my docs area witch is 200+ miles away and I don't want to do it again. I really am afraid of getting a complete unfill but I am starting to think that it might be the best option right now. Do ya'll think I should unfill until my pcp and I can get meds that work for me? Or should I just get an unfill for a few weeks to let my body rest? Or...what? I just don't know anymore.
  3. I have a smaller band but with the 10cc band (from what I have read on here) 3cc sounds normal. Since your band holds more fluid it is gonna take more fluid to fill restriction. I think it will probably be fine, but if at anytime you have problems getting water down or start having acid reflux I would get a slight unfill.

    Insurance Pay for PS???

LOL! Kpodski that is too funny! Fortunatly I am one of those fat people with no boobs! My sister got all of them! She could probably zip them up in her zipper too! I hate being fat with no boobs, it just doesn't look right! I was thinking about a boob job after I lost the weight, but now that the weight is comming off I am having second thoughts! My boobs haven't really reduced in size (thank God!) so I am kinda starting to even out. I really just don't think I'd be comfortable with big perky bazookas sticking out. My belly fat and apron could deffinately go though!

    Insurance Pay for PS???

So, I'm assuming that if I want to go the insurance route I would go to my pcp who would then refer me to a PS? Is that right. Should I go a couple of times to my pcp to get documentation that rash and lower back pain are occuring? What do you think would be the best. I am so desperate to get rid of my apron I am seriously considering purposely zipping it up in my pants. Whoa that is desperation isn't it. YIKES!!

    This was the last straw

My last straw was after my baby was born I just felt like a big fat slob. I could no longer fit in anything that looked "nice" on me. I was looking for some clothes to fit in a Woman within catalog and looked at the mu mu's. I didn't want to be wearing mumu's just to be comfortable. Plus, I didn't even feel like doing my hair or makeup because it just had no impact except to highlight the fact that I was fat and unhappy.
  7. For some reason eggs do the same for me! No matter how softly scrambled they are! Glad you are feeling better and that you are able to take a break from the tightness! My suggestion would be to go slow on the fills! It is funny but if he puts you at the same fill level that you were at you might find it way too tight. Funny how fickle the band is.

    Migraines?

I don't want to sound snooty but Topiramate (also know as topomax) is not Maxalt. Maxalt is a triptan based med that is used for migraines and topomax is an antiseizure med. Two totally different medications. The idea behind taking anti seizure meds is to be a preventative for migraines and maxalt is to treat a migraine at onset. I have suffered from migraines my whole life and have tried everything under the sun as well. I personally would not recommend my worst enemy to try topomax. I suffered memory loss, lupus symptoms, and a whole lot of other side effects that are just too many to list. I could go on and on about meds, but nobody really needs to hear me. Personally what is probably happening is the hormones your body is releasing because of weight loss and also the crystal light is what is bringing them on for you. I hate to say it but you should probably lay off the artificial sweeteners for a while! Talk to your doc about getting a triptan type medication (maxalt, imitrex, etc) to treat the migraine at onset until your body gets used to the fact that you are shedding this weight!

    come ON! [employer rant]

I am a stay at home mom and at the time of surgery I didn't have but two days to recover before I was back to my old self. I am not sure how you do with surgery but it is not as bad as one might think! Unfortunately, it is common practice for employers to use up vacation and sick time on FMLA don't know why, I guess employers get greedy with employee's time. Seems to me that they would welcome the fact that they didn't have to pay you. Alas, if you could schedule it on like a thursday and take friday off plus the weekend, unless you have an active job I'd personally say you'd probably be good to go. But everyone is different. Hope all works out in the end!!

    Rash..under my stomach (apron)

I think it is something to the likes of athletes foot a fungle infection. Alot of us obese people with aprons are blessed with this reoccuring afliction! But hey, if it becomes so bothersome, you will probably be a canidate for an insurance covered panniculectomy with is not as good as a tummy tuck, but it does remove the skin and hey if you have ins it is somewhat free! I cannot believe your doctor didn't know what it was, sounds to me like he/she was playing dumb! Especially since you had the skin discoloration that you described! It is not as uncommon as one would think. Plus, no matter how clean you are, it will still come back. I have found that for me gold bond is the best at keeping it at bay. I have heard several people use athletes foot medication when it gets real bad.
  12. If you are type 1, the only problem I could see you encountering is having to relearn how to stablize your blood sugar and keep it incheck as it will probably be all over the place when you really start shedding the lbs. I know for type 1's it can be a real bitch if you don't monitor your sugar levels closely. I am sure if the surgeon knows before hand that you are diabetic, he/she will make sure everything goes smoothly. Also, if you are type 1, if it were me, I'd be on board with a nutritionist (if you are not already) and make sure they know the requirements of the band food stages so they can at least give you ideas on keeping you sugar in a managable range!
  13. My mom suddenly developed an allergy to toothpaste but hers presented in a different way. Her lips were really chapped and cracked and they were really cracked at the corners of her mouth and would bleed. I think it was crest that she was allergic to. There is a supposedly "all natural" brand called Tom's...I have seen it at walmart and walgreens, I think that is what she uses now. Hopefully, this is the cause and it can be corrected!!
  14. I guess the question you have to ask yourself when you stomach growls is, "Am I hungry?" We have to learn to pay attention to our bodies. My stomach growls for no apparent reason at all. If you take a growling stomach as a sign of hunger and you "feel" hungry, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't have a healthy snack. Next time you tummy yells out, ask yourself "Am I hungry or is it gas?"

    Lap Band and Metabolism

Well, if growling means you are hungry then I guess most of the time my lower stomach is hungry cuz my stomach growls pretty much all the time. I personally know I am hungry, not by the growling of my stomach, but (its hard to explain) when I get an ache and empty feeling in my stomach and I am cranky and lightheaded or shaky. Actually feeling hungry was a new sensation for me after being banded so I can understand your confusion. Now, I don't know much about metabolism but I can pretty much guess mine is slow. Heck I am probably still matabolizing stuff I ate for Thanksgiving. Once you have the band you learn that you have to pay attention to your body and the feelings you have. Sometimes growling isn't a sign of hunger, sometimes it is probably gas rumbling around in there. Plus if your stomach has any memory it is probably thinking, "Hey give me something to eat, remember the good old days when you used to stuff your face?!!??" I think that is what mine is trying to tell me when it growls...........or maybe it is just gas.

    Donuts in the kitchen

Well, I guess if you are forced to partake in a sense, you could put your donut or piece of cake on a plate and instead of eating it you could decorate it with pencil shavings...staples...salt...pepper...mustard...ketchup..you know whatever is nasty and you wouldn't eat. Then if someone asks what you are doing you can just say "Oh I am celebrating, too!"

    Donuts in the kitchen

I love donuts!! But if I even try to indulge in one bit it immediately gets stuck! LOL....next time the message is sent you should get up and start yelling like a mad woman you can't take it anymore and run into the kitchen and start licking all the donuts. HA, I bet that would teach them.
  18. I'm sure that your doc has taken a look in your mouth and ruled this out, but is it possible you have thrush? Have you taken any antibiotics lately? You can also get thrush when your immune system is low. If you don't know what thrush is, it is a yeast infection in your mouth. When I get it (from antibiotics) my tounge and the roof of my mouth burn. Also it can effect your throat and the inner parts of your cheeks and your gums. Diabetics also have a tendency to get it. It usually presents itself as a thick white-ish coating on your tongue. Like I said, I am sure you doc looked in your mouth, but its the only thing I can come up with.

What does a 320 lb woman look like?

Woah! I got a hundred bucks says that her boobs make up at least a hundred of those lbs!!!
  20. This may sound weird but I have been pondering you symptoms and I just happened to be on my TOM. I was sitting in the bathroom today and picked up my tampon box and read the warnings on toxic shock syndrome. I then googled it to see if I could find more symptoms and what I found was strangly what you are describing. The article I read said that aside from tampon use it can also be contracted thru minor irritations in the skin, recent surgerys, giving birth, and nasal packing for nose bleeds. The symptoms for TSS are as follows: High fever over 102F , rapid drop in blood pressure with fainting or lightheadedness, a sunburn like rash, vomitting and diarrhea, sever muscle aches or weakness, bright red coloring of the eyes, throat, and vagina, headache, confusion, disorientation, seizure, sore throat, kidney or other organ failure. It may not be what you have but it might be worth having a doc do some blood work and specifically look for some type of staff related infection.

    Demand Your Fills

For me personally I have found out that it can take up to 4weeks for my max restriction to kick it. I found it out the hard way. I did wait about 3 1/2 weeks after my first fill, then after reading thru the forums and people suggesting I go get another I went. Bad decision!! I had to have an emergency unfill (twice since my doc didn't take out all of my second fill the first time.) Once I had all of my second fill taken out, I have found that my first fill is on the tight side, and has been for 4months now. I guess I probably should have had it all taken out to let my stomach rest and recoup, but, being a self pay, I didn't want it all taken out. I am not loosing weight fast, because I can't eat any hard protien (hardly) it has really been a struggle. I really wish I hadn't had my second fill. Please give you fill time to kick in. Everybody's body is different. If you don't feel restricted after two weeks then talk to your doctor, but please don't demand fills until you give the first fill a chance to kick in. You will really be sorry if you get too tight!!
  22. What a dick!!! Chicken couldn't even do it in person. Oh well, no love lost. Like you said, there was no attraction on your part to him! Don't give up!! Best way to get your feet wet and to get comfortable with dating again is practice dates! He was your first practice date. So when's the next!! LOL chin up and have fun with these dates! Plus if you can't be yourself and be comfortable with the person you are with, then they are not for you!

    Bathing Suits?!

I went yesterday and tried on some suits from walmart and target. What is up with this halter trend. I got a huge hump at the back of my neck, I think its called a dorsal or something....anyway the halter tops just magnified it....it was awful. The suit themselves were cute but I couldn't get past the halter part so I didn't get one. I am kind of a fan of the bathing suits with skirts cuz I hate my legs showing, I have found that the two piece bottoms don't come down as far as I'd like. So, now I am rethinking my suit choice to maybe a one piece and trying to find some board shorts to cover my legs. Plus, black is my first choice always, but I am really fair complected any other color suggestions for us ghosts?

For those who suffer from anxiety

Thanks so much for your replies. I hope this gives me the courage to talk with my PCP. I feel so guilty for being this way, and half of me thinks I am being a hypochondriac. I am just so confused and fed up. I litterally have a panic attack with think about seeing a phychaitrist. I have had a bad past with an alchoholic mother and other stuff and I have closed that chapter in my life and do not want to rehash it, and I am afraid that it will be a priority to rehash it if I see a physchiatrist. Plus, I have a fear that if I do see one I will find out that I am really crazy!! I am going nuts. To add to it, I have a 14month old and no real help with her (as I am a stay at home mom) so if I had to go to multiple visits she would more than likely be with me. What kind of help can a physchiatrist provide with a toddler running around. I feel so hopeless!
  25. I have been on an several antidepressants and have found that Zoloft works the best for me as far as helping my depressed mood. However, I think I might have some anxiety issues. I discussed this a little with my PC and she increased my dosage of Zoloft from 50mg to 100mg and I have a follow up in about 2weeks to see if this has helped any. Well, to me it hasn't. So I was wondering if those of you that suffer from anxiety could help me out and see if any of my symptoms relate to any of yours. My problem is I make a decicion that I am going to be firm with my doctor and tell her she needs to check me for anxiety, but every time I go I chicken out. I don't want her thinking that I am just looking for drugs. My mother and father both suffer from Generalized anxiety disorder and I think I might be following in their footsteps. My symptoms are as follows: I worry constantly about any and everything and if a problem gets solved then I go looking for something else to worry about. I have trouble getting to sleep at night because I have thoughts racing through my head about what I need to do for the next day or just whatever I can think of. (once alseep though, I have no trouble staying asleep) I constantly pick my arms, face, legs, and fingers. I do this so bad that my once beautiful skin is now poc marked. My once beautiful nails are now sore and bloody around the cuticles, and I can't even let sores heal because I pick the scabs. I am aware that I do this and when I do it I know I shouldn't but I just can't stop. It seems like when I pick at myself I don't think about any of my worries and I go into a transe so to speak. Even taking the antidepressant I do occasionally have mood swings and irritability and I am always tired no matter how many hours of sleep I get. What is wrong with me, I am so fed up with being sore from picking and worrying about stupid stuff!! Please somebody help! Can anyone relate to this and tell me if any medication has helped? Please!!
