I also am having problems drinking. I am so thirsty and know I'm probably dehydrated but everytime I drink it hurts. Doesn't matter what it is my stomach gets air bubbles and gurgles after every sip. I'm really getting frustrated because all I want to do is gulp liquids down but my stomach is refusing to let me. Is this normal and common with other sleevers?
I had my surgery on May 7th and most of the time when I drink anything I get a sharp pain followed by LOUD gurgling.. What the hell is it??

He does not believe in sending you home with pain meds? Well I can assume he has never been in terrible pain then. When will people realize that pain meds are a good thing? Our bodies are healing from some major stuff and if your in pain or fighting pain you can't heal right. If you take the pain meds then you are giving your body a chance to heal.
As far as Tylenol goes... It's pretty much the weakest sauce you can take. I call em placebo pills cause they just don't do anything. If I have to take them 500 mg just won't do. I take 1000.
My liver is fine and in not hooked on drugs. I keep up on my pain meds cause I want my body to heal properly.

My doc said no more tylenol because it can cause issues with the new tummy and the liver.
Most all doctors say no NSAIDs (Ibuphrophin, Naproxim) but Tylenol is always ok. I had an IV OF Tylenol in the Hospitol.

Yeah don't take diet pills? ? That's crazy talk. Just take this journey slow and don't worry about the weight loss, health first!

I took norco at the Hospitol in pill form. My doctor just said any pills you swallow mush be the size of a tic tax. So he gave me a pill cutter.

My surgery was on the 7th I'm being released today and the surgeon was jut in here. He said it's totally normal. My tummy hurts every time something goes In There.... Lots of nagging pain at the big in is ion point. I have walked and walked and walked. I think I'm gonna need some gas x strips
When was your surgery again? If it's been more than a few days, I might give the surgeon's office a call.
Try a heating pad and see if that helps. I definitely used gas x strips for the first few days, and they did help manage the gas in my tummy. They won't help if it's gas pain from the CO2 they used to inflate your abdomen during surgery, but that's why I was recommending the heating pad.
Good luck, and I sure hope you feel better soon.

.I have my preop with my surgeon today and it's less than 2 weeks til surgery. Did that keep me away from Girl Scout Cookies? No it did not.

I have to say what makes me nervous is not the procedure itself but anticipating post op pain, post op feelings if deprivation and concerns that I won't be able to handle the post op diet. Anyone else feel like that?

Also I'm obsessing on Vitamins. What brand, how many milligrams, what type.... I wish I could be like you guys and clean house with anxiety instead of getting stuck on details.

-MB
Do you have a pre op diet? I'm the same way I'm not afraid of the procedure im afraid of the aftermath.. I just wanna be ok. I take the chewable Bariatric Advantage vitamins. They are so good!
