1. Cannot even believe it's already been 10 days!! I was so freaked out about doing this and had so many buddies back out at the last minute and I just kept telling myself, I CAN DO THIS! I DESERVE THIS!

I will tell you that I had problems waking up from surgery. I was not taking deep enough breaths to get enough oxygen. I got combative with nurses and it took 3 people to restrain me. (Don't remember any of this)

I was up and walking 2 hours after I got into my room. I had manageable pain, and little problems drinking fluids. My biggest complaint was the large incision pain and the gas. I felt like my ribs were cracked or something. The tissue surrounding that area is still sore. After I got home I slept in my recliner for 3 nights cause my induction pain was too irritating. It was hard and still is hard to get all fluids and Protein in.

I started puréed foods yesterday and had no issues. I had a soft scrambled egg and it was amazing! I had puréed tuna with mayo today and it was divine. I do have what feels like gas resistance. when food hits my stomach. It's like pain, grumbling and gurgling. I was told it's just gas resistance and to take my daily acid pill and it will get better.

All in all it's been pretty amazing! I feel really good I look good and I'm down 21 lbs in 3 weeks!!

I hope this good experience continues. Just thought I would share. :)

  2.
A diuretic effect has nothing to do with the bowels-has to do with Fluid level in your body, and if you google Protein and diuretic together you will see that a high Protein diet does have a diuretic effect. The high protein content of the drink probably off sets the water/milk you add to some degree so some Dr. choose to not count that toward your Fluid goal. The point I was making in my previous post was just that everyone shouldn't assume that their fluids mixed with protein count toward their fluid goal, not all Dr/NUT do it that way, and people should follow their dr's instructions.

AHAHAHAHAHA!!! Your so right about the diuretic thing of course and that's what I get for doing too many things at ion e. I know what a diuretic is lmfao!!!

My surgeon considers Protein shakes a liquid that counts toward your fluid intake. Why? Because they are mostly liquid. Of course go by what your own doc says. :-)

  3. The recovery unit I was in consisted of a large circle with 22 rooms. There was a nurses station at not sides of the circle. I was up and walking circles 2 hours after surgery. I walked about 5 circles about 3 times a day.

Now at home I walk around the house every 30 min or so. I also take 2 walks around the park 2 e a day for 15 min at a time.

  4. Hello everyone!

I am 6 days Post Op and feeling pretty good. No nausea, manageable discomfort, gas pain gone; overall it's been a pretty good experience. I was just wondering what everyone's post op diets were like and what stage you were on.

Tomorrow marks the first day of my puréed diet.

    My diet goes like this:

    Day 1-2 Clear Liquids

    Day 3-7 Full liquids

    Weeks 2-4 puréed

    Weeks 5-6 soft

    Weeks 6-8 regular soft

Does anyone have any recipes or tips?

I'd love to hear where everyone is at!

    Hope everyone is feeling well!
