  2. I dont even know where to post this anymore- frustrating!-- i digress. Where has everyone gone? The chat room used to be an active place. A safe place for emotional support, advice, encouragement and friendship. If you've left, please come back. If you never been to the chat room, please stop by and introduce yourself. (you can find the "door" to the chat room at the top under "community". Hope to see you there! Tink
  3. Where is everyone? The chat room is a great place to meet each other, discuss wls, get support and ask questions. The chat room used to be an active place. Where have all the good times gone?! Go today since the long weekend is coming and it will be a major pain to get seen before Monday. Dont wait that long to feel better. Take care of yourself. you have been on my mind. 5. First, can you take some tylenol for your headache? are you drinking enough fluids? Second here's some tips that helped me: sugar-free popsicles (a lot of them). Chew ice (Sonic has the best ice for chewing, lol) Get out of the house (go for a walk, do some Christmas shopping, go to the goodwill and get a goal outfit) Take a long bath. Talk to a friend on the phone for a long time. Meditate (if thats your thing) Decorate for Christmas (you wont feel like it after surgery) and sing along with Christmas music Start or pick back up a hobby (strum that old guitar, or get out that knitting) Hope some of these ideas help. You CAN get thru this!
  6. Im having trouble losing this last 25 lbs and have been thinking of trying the 5:2 diet. I know many of you have been using this diet as a tool. ive searched the forum and didnt get any hits. isnt there a support group for this topic? I cant find it anymore. Questions: Are you currently on this diet? (or have you been?) What has your experience with it been like? Any links you can recommend? What do i need to know?
  7. Im thinking of trying the 5:2 diet. here is a link that tells about it and there are forums here about it, also http://thefastdiet.co.uk/
  8. Where did you get your surgery done? I was sleeved 11 months ago at Lovelace Westside Hospital.
  9. do you still have X- large shirts and size 81/2 shoes?
  10. Im in NM too-- in Rio Rancho. where do you live? (I made green chili stew yesterday) yummy
  11. In case you need encouragement: Come on, Linda305! You can do this! You can do ANYTHING for another week. Stay focused. Keep your eye on the prize. In case you need a stern talking to: Linda305! WTH are you doing? self-sabotage! Afraid of success, fear of losing food? Drink those shakes! Suck it up! Figure out why you are doing this BEFORE you have surgery. The food thing doesnt get much easier immediately post op.
  12. oh yeah- "head hunger". that should have been on my list too.
  13. I love to go to Chico's because i can wear a size 2 there, lol. I also love to go into my fave consignment store. i had to stop shopping there for awhile, they only carry up to a size 14. now i can go there again. YAY for shopping!
  14. Any chance this could be depression rearing its ugly head?
  15. I had some nausea post op, and inhaling peppermint oil and drinking warm decaf lavender or peppermint tea really helped.
  16. i am 11 months post op, and frequently get asked what i wished i had known pre op. here are 4 things: I wish i would've known that i would still get hungry.- i was told my hunger would be gone. I wish i would've known that the 1st 5 days of recovery could be difficult- i was told i would just be a "little sore" I wish i would've known that my weight loss would be slow- i compare myself to others I wish i would've known how yucky the Protein shakes would get to be--they suck now. Please chime in! What do you wish you would've known pre op? Our honesty could help those who are still pre op. Dont be scared-- im not complaining. i love my sleeve and the results i have gotten so far.
  17. im 11 months out also. i log on mfp religiosly, stay below 1000 cals a day. dont exercise like i should. afraid ive reahed my "happy weight" and wont be able to lose more without some serious effort. but i feel complacent and pretty comfortable at this weight. size 14. 23 pounds to goal. ill bet that the increase in your exercise will get that scale moving again. Hang tough! we'll get there. How far away from goal are you?
