  1. Awesome Chris77 Thank you for your update. Super great work on that weight loss!
  2. Hi All, I am about 8 years out from a sleeve. Overall, happy. But often in the middle of the night I wake up, literally chocking on acid from GERD that developed immediately after the sleeve surgery. I am looking to talk to people who have had a sleeve and then converted to bypass. Would you please share with me: 1) Your reasons for conversion from the sleeve to bypass. 2) What was the post op period like compared with sleeve? 3) What is the best and worst part of having the bypass? 4) Any dumping issues? Thanks so much!
  3. Hi GinSunFLoweres. I never had GERD until AFTER I had the sleeve. Thinking of converting to bypass.
  4. That is awesome to hear catwoman7! It feels pretty good to be content, huh? Blessings to you!
  5. Great job on that weight loss! That's doing it the hard way.
  6. Ill bet. I go back to logging every now and then. Why did you decide to revise? I am thinking about it for nasty GERD.
  7. Oh that is awesome! I wish you all the best! I will be on the lookout for your posts!
  8. Oh interesting! Other than GERD, where there other reasons for the revision? I'd like to consider that myself. When are you scheduled?
  9. I have been doing pretty well, overall. Life goes on after surgery for sure. But, I have been blessed. Really my only complaint about the sleeve is that I developed awful GERD immediately after surgery, so I am dependent on Prilosec twice a day. I suppose a revision to bypass would solve that problem.
  10. I would love to connect with anyone who is >7 years out from surgery. How are you doing?
  11. Oh wow, it's been over 9 years since surgery. GERD came with the sleeve, unfortunately, so I am on prilosec for life , it appears.
  12. Hi! I am about 7 years out. What kind of protein are you going to try? I lost all my weight , but gained about 25# back over Covid Years. I could use a kickstart. I live in the Pacific NW, so it's cold and rainy. Looking forward to Daylight savings time and spring so I can get out more. How are you all today?
  13. I was sleeved about 7 years ago. looking for old and new friends. Is there still a chat? Anyone out there want to chat for a few?
  14. Hi all, I received my sleeve about 7 years ago. Looking for some old friends. Hit me up if you remember.
  15. Hey cmbtexas! Good to hear from someone from the "good old days" with the chat room. It made me sad to hear about your struggle with the bottle and depression. I must say- I've had similar experiences. Wish we could chat more about it. I've managed to keep off all the weight I lost (100#). I've also managed to lose another 180# (LOL- got rid of the husband). But I picked up the bottle (again). Self-medicating? So, I went back to Alcoholics Anonymous. They have been the answer for me. I enjoy the meetings, the structure, and especially the people. A place to belong. Well wishes my friend!!
  16. There is an app for that. It's "diet shakes". All kinds of recipes. Check it out!
  17. I have been hungry since surgery 2 1/2 years ago. I eat less with the sleeve and follow Dr. Vuong's plan and have lost 79 lbs. but hunger has always been an issue for me
  18. Dr. Vuong is my doc. Excellent doc and his books are invaluable
  19. my weight loss goal for the new year is to reach goal weight (150lbs) by March. this should be realistic since i have 18 lbs to goal. i plan on doing this by continuing to follow the 5:2 plan, exercising sporadically, using MFP, coming to this site, and participating in a weight loss support group that my counselor is planning to start in January. Thanks Rib!
  20. The hubs told me yesterday that i looked awesome. that was the best Christmas present ever
  21. i cant tolerate Pasta anymore. i do eat a little bit of rice with fish every now and again. i didnt start eating it until about 5 mos out. my surgeon is okay with rice in moderation.
