  1. This just shows how different all surgeons are. my husband and I were cleared to lift 100lbs after 7 days and any exercise. The trainer at the gym, that we joined, 2 months after my surgery was hesitant about giving my ab workouts, so I had to recheck with the surgeon. yep they said cleared after 7 days, do what you are comfortable doing.

My advice talk to your own surgeon as each one differs.

  2. I would go to the doctor and have them do a blood test for pregnancy. false positives are not common and if you have only had one cycle that lasted 4 hours that could be implantation bleeding.

but then again it could be just the shock of your body going thru surgery. I have had no change or minimal at best on my cycles, once a month my visitor comes.

I would really seriously look at making an appointment with my pcp at this point. IMHO

  3. I was pregnant and obese, took a girl that I took care of with me out to Breakfast, this young lady is pretty disabled, age 15 at the time with mentality of a 18 month to 2 yr old. my pre-pregnancy weight was 272 lbs, size 24. I was 5 or 6 months pregnant and so was getting larger. (only gained 29 lbs over the whole pregnancy and most of that was in months 8 and 9). We were seated and brought drinks. then started the half hour of waiting for our order to be taken. I watched 3-5 more tables be sat and all the orders taken. Finally I got up, when asked what was up by one of the staff I said I was tried of waiting while others that were seated ofter me ordered and were served their meals.

I went to the register, the manager was there. the only thing he was going to do is give me our drinks for free. I paid for them as I did not feel that I should condone their discrimination by accepting their non-apology of a free drink. never went back to the restaurant until I moved to a new city.

  4. Roberta nicely said I happen to agree I have no thyroid problem but the tone and gist of the op is don't have the surgery. Well in 5 months I have lost 60 lbs, 20 pre-op and 40 post op. You have to do the work, the band is just a tool to help you while you are ding the work.

  5. I was called as an assistant nursery leader just before Thanksgiving, so when I read the note about Joseph Smith I had to ask my hubby if that is the book this year, yep I am just out of the circle being with the kids but I enjoy them.

Teach them about Jesus and Joseph Smith will be fun. I get to teach 'Heavenly Father has a body' next week.

  6. Gweniper:

    Congrats for making your goal.

Update - I didn't reach my short term goal of 230, but I'm at 231.6, close enough for me. Next challenge - losing 100 by 1/26/08 my 6 month bandiversary.

Congratulations to all of you that met and exceeded your goals. And to those of us who didn't, keep on plugging away. Think of it positively. I'm positive that I gained ten pounds during the Holiday season of 2006, this year I actually lost.

Here's to seeing less of all of you in 2008!

    Sue

    Sue thank you

I usually don't use my home scale as we weigh at the docs office for official but 2 days in a row it read 215 so I used it. now I will wait until thursday to update my ticker as I see the doc then. hopefully it is still 215.

Good luck with you goals. my next one is to be 192 by March 8. !00 pounds lighter than last march when they started me on metaformin for pcos and pre-diabetes

  7. My appointment was canceled on Monday as I still had laryngitis, nurse said he would not want me to come in and would not do a fill in her opinion. I went in Wednesday when I was better for a weight is all. not there for more than 5 minutes. the problem was and is that I had a coughing spell while there. I had been told on Saturday that the cough would last for a long time but it was not because I was sick just that with what has been going around, they have noticed the cough lingering.

I have had problems in the past with lingering coughs. If I were to stay away from public places because of a stinking cough I would been a recluse half of the year.

Hope this explains it better Wasa, I wasn't still sick appointment for Tuesday canceled Monday for Laryngitis. As for contagious wasn't, the clinic doc wanted me off work to rest voice and able to return Monday to work. All this over Laryngitis.

  8. Well this morning I got a nice surprise.... I fit into a size 16. I knew the 18 were getting loose and had to keep pulling them up but was not sure if I could get into a 16. well a friend that has had the surgery a year ago passed me a bunch of clothes and in it were a couple of size 16 pants. So being curious I tries them on, little snug across apron area but not on my waist. I tried them on at about 2am, my hubby was so excoted he went and got one of my presents out. slacks and a skirt he thought both were 16 but only the skirt was but that is ok he has been watching and before I told him things were getting loose again he noticed. I love him..

now if things would start moving better for him too it would be great.(he was banded in Sept)

Well Merry Christmas and happy New Year everyone
