  3. Gwen! That's is so awesome! Congrats to both of you.

thanks Leslie, the surgeon told my hubby how proud of him he was and that he knows that he is a hard a$$ at times but he has to be at times. he told me he is also proud of me and encourages me to continue on. stress has over taken me this past few months but I am still losing and that is the key.

just posting to post that I love cheese too but surgeon prefers us not to eat it and now it seams to want to make me slime and pb:scared2:

  4. that makes since. basically it sounds like it causes the same things but without the elevated prolactin. no fun. sounds as you can get the breast reduction while on the 4 month trial and then find out if more surgery is needed. good luck

  5. he has a prolatinoma, he only has side effects when he does not take his meds and that is bad headaches. If I understand what you wrote above is said you are missing periods and are producing small amounts of milk??? when my husband was off his meds for 2 years (no insurance for his meds at the time) he started producing milk, from what I have read and seen on health shows, that is very common to prolactinomas. but I don't know anything about non-functioning stalk effect tumor.

I will have to research it, educate myself, I love educating myself about different things

and you are welcome I hope all is going good for you

  6. apples my surgeon does fills with no numbing agents, for the most part it is like when they go to numb you at the dentist, just a stick. other times when he misses the port and has to shift the needle it hurts a bit but nothing major. keep up the great work.

  7. when checking in at the hospital, the register had to check several times if my husband and I were approved for same day or overnight. she explained that some insurances will only pay for same day, but the surgeons in our town do the surgery as overnight. now we would be free to go same day if there were no complications but they want that extra time just in case. the hospital is working with them to get it so that those that are approved for same day has the right codes. very complicated, but if you were there overnight and only approved for same day, and there were no complications sounds like there was a miscommunication between surgeon and hospital.

  8. Hmmm. I'm not exactly sure where I am on the issue. When I was very young(6 or 7), my aunt, uncle and 2 year old cousin were killed by a drunk driver. I was shielded from the event and quite honestly don't remember much about it. I do know that it was a van of drunk teenagers who hit them and nomne of them had more than minor injuries. The driver served no time in jail.

The flip side - my younger brother(28) is an alcoholic and he is certainly not trash. It wasn't known by anyone but him and his wife until he was 100% out of control. He spent 6 months in and out of hospitals and detox centers. Finally after what seemed like an eternity - he went to an inpatient rehab. He worked so incredibly hard while he was there and has continued to do so. During his drinking episodes, I know of at least a couple of times that he drove. I called the police both times and gave his vehicle description and plate number. I was more afraid that he would hurt or kill someone else than himself, sad but true.

    .

I can see that you see both sides of the issue, not to make lite of your uncle, aunt and cousin but try being 21 and losing your mother to a drunk driver. this happened to me. my mother never got to attend my wedding when I was 27, 2.5 years later she could not be there for the birth of my daughter, my daughter will never know what she was like but for what I can tell her. I have one sister that her kids are the only ones that she got to see and hold and they where 3,2, and 10months at the time of her death. another sister has 2 girls one born 4.5 months after her death. I have a brother that was 16 at the time of her death, who was not on the right path in life as it was but now has spent the most part of the past 14 years in jail trying to forget her death. and one sister is so messed up we don't know what to do to help her.

so lock them up and throw away the damn keys.

your brother is lucky he hasn't killed anyone. but as I learned 14 years ago, they get a slap on the wrist. :(

sorry this is a very sore subject with me. and yes after 14 years still very angry that my mom is gone. i am just glad that I wasn't any younger!!! to this day I still need my mom and some @$$ took her life.

  9. I have experienced it following my last fill 2 weeks ago. had to have half of the fill removed 3 days later as the reflux was so bad. I still have mild heartburn and reflux. they told me to be very careful as reflux and heartburn is a sign of too tight and that could lead to band slippage.

    good luck

  11. so I went in on Tuesday the 20th for my monthly visit and I had gained 3 pounds since the last visit 7 weeks ago, last week I was down but this week with the heat I was retaining Water bad. (happens every time that the heat goes above 85 and it was 90 here over the weekend) to top it off I let the doc know I was getting so hungry that I search for food, and I was able to eat more and more. I was at 3.7cc in a 10cc band. he gives me a fill and I go home and when I lay down to sleep I would wake up feeling like I was drowning in my own fluids. this went on until this morning I called the office, food goes down but the reflux is horrid.

so the doc is not in but the nurse is trained (found that out today) to do fills and unfills, but only gets the chance when he is out and patients need help. I get in there and she tells me he went gong ho on me and put in 1cc she was not surprised to see me. (I do well with little fills nothing big, I was thinking he had done .5cc)

as she is prepping the site she comments on the location of his entrance when she could feel if higher up. so she inserts the needle and then can not hit the silicone area. she asked if he has ever mentioned that the port is tilted, nope but I feel that it has moved under my ribs more I used to feel it better while laying down now it is harder to find. the doc used to be able to stick the needle in and be done fast now it takes longer. so she fished around for a long time then took the needle out repositioned me and went lower at an angle then it went in. removed .5cc we will see how the weekend goes. she apologized for not removing the first needle earlier, and said 'now that I made hamburger out of you'. I love the nurse but now I am sore was sore from Tuesday (bruised in fact ) but I can live with that.

    but ouch that hurt:eek::cursing:

oh and since Tuesday I lost 5lbs. like I said water weight

  12. because of my work schedule (work overnight) and the inability to get with others during the times I have free they finally gave me a writing route. I write to 2 sisters a month, these are sisters that don't want visits but like getting little messages. there is one sister in my work that does like 15+ each month. talk to your RS presidency and see if you can not be re-assigned companions or have a writing route if your ward has one. good luck

  13. I was charged $3791.41 for mine

my husband was charged $2888.28 for his

mine was 3 weeks before his

    I got APS

    he got APL

why his is cheaper who knows

they charged me more and I was in less time and less complications

he had a special bed (i did not) respiratory services (again not me)

there were several things like that that happened

I was charged for other therapies that I never received so watch your bill carefully

  14. Gwen - see my post above yours - This is not True - Target is not owned by a Foreign Company...

    Indio,

sorry I was posting and my coputer is slow so I didn't see your post until after I posted. Ok so they are not foreign owned, but as others have said they too have locally owned ones that do not allow support of the vets. sorry but that is my experience. thanks for doing the snoops thing to prove that corporate Target does in their way support the vets. they need to bring it down to the local level so that the average person sees that they are being pro-vets.

  15. Pix,

What's the Vet thing with Target, I think I remember something in the news but can't recall now. Now I know where your husband is possibly and why you have a count down for him. Hope it flies by quickly for you! Hopefully answering this question doesn't start another big fight on LBT again, lol! I live out where they train the nuke sub peeps. brandyII

Oh and I don't have that store you mentioned here. I do use Amazon a lot though.

I am not sure all the ins and outs of it but my husband and I refuse to shop there because of their stand on vets. they refuse to support them even in the simplest way of letting them set up their stands for the donations with the poppy flowers. someone told me at one point that it is because Target is owned by a foreign company....who knows but if they won't help support the vets I won't support their business
