  1. I was banded on May7,2008. I have my first bladder infection and boy is it bad. I've got 101.9 fever and had a horrible night. I wasn't able to see my doctor that banded me and I question if it's ok to take alot of Advil. I got an antibiotic that is liquid but I'm taking Advill every 4 hours to help with the fever. Is this OK?

my surgeon has no problem with me or my husband taking advil. in fact they recommend it after surgery in place of the pain meds they gave after surgery. they do recommend liquid as the pills are harder to swallow and as with all pain meds in moderation.

every surgeon is different so please ask yours.

  2. I want a real frog mom wont let me get one SUCH bull IM allowed to have 5 hamsters and 2 fish and a dog but no frog OR snake :scared2:

I have to agree about the snake "shudder" I hate snakes!!!! But why not an aquatic frog that stays in the Water with the fish? we have a 29 gallon aquarium that has neon tetras, hatchet fish, black skirt tetras, 2 snails and 2 frogs. It is fun to watch the frogs and try to find them. they love to just hang around the floral bushes we have in there, oh did I say hang around, well I mean hang off!!!

  3. I do eat bread regularly but I often do this becuase I realise what I want is the filling (mine is chicken, avocado, sprouts and salt and pepper, yum!).

yum sounds good. I can't do sliced avocado any more it gets stuck like bananas do but I so want some. I will try an open face sandwich that sounds doable.

    thanks

  4. I am craving BLT's. My tomatoes are about to ripen and when checking them today it was lik, "wow I would love a BLT with those fresh tomatoes". well here is the thing, both my husband and I are at the restriction that bread is hard to get down. He suggested toasting the bread extra to make it crunchy (he like things blackened) the only thing is I don't like the bread that toasts to a crisp (the supermarket brand that is thin) it tears my mouth apart and crumbles everywhere. I refuse to by it for DD.

I like the whole grain breads that are heavy (made with whole grain not enriched) and the slices are thicker. I can't figure out how to make it crunchy and still good.

What ideas does anyone have for a substitute? I know BLT's the bacon is not the best but I use the veggie alternative bacon, a healthier choice.

  5. I have had my lapband for almost 2 years now and since the very beginning I would have these horrible episodes of severe swelling of my stomach. It gets to the point where I am not able to take my daily meds, drink any fluids and of course no eating. These episodes have caused dehydration, vomiting blood and severe heart burn and reflux.

After speaking to my surgeon he said that I could attribute this to my monthly period and the bloating that come along with this. He suggested that my GP perscrib a Water pill to help with the complications. My GP didn't feel comfortable doing this for various reasons and my surgeon had to then agree. I looked at over the counter Water pills, but they all contain caffeine which i can not have:( So still nothing is solved.

I get fills and UN fills and this has gone on for 2 years. I have only lost 30lbs. I am so frustrated and i wonder if anyone has this problem of has any helpful advice. Thank you for any help i am desperate at this pointconfused.gif

Hi I get tight the week before my TOM each month. My sirgeon suggested that instead of filling and unfilling do water pills, he would even prescribe one himself. But it looks like both have reasons not to for you.

you said you are looking for a non caffeine water pill, I found one at Walmart, not wure where else it would be. it is Sundown's Natural Water Pills.

    good luck

  6. After I had my DD I have a massive uti that went to my kidneys. They gave me a lose dose antibiotic to take immediately after intercourse. I had to do this for 6+months. To this day I am so afraid of this happening again that I have to get up with in minutes to clean up. No cuddle time for Gwen. But no repeats of the infection.

(Truth be told it was from the cath they gave me during the birth. I made sure when I had lap-band surgery that they were to not put one in.)

  7. oh dear... so sorry! at least DD went to bed relatively early last night (930)

We are going through a transition here, I work overnights and had been working 5 nights a week, starting this week I went part time and only work Fri, Sat and Sun nights. She and her dad have a routine and with me home it has thrown her off. (As any night I was off did, now there are 4 nights instead of 2) So we will work through it just may take awhile.:)

  8. String cheese, tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, Protein bars, scrambled eggs, taco salad. I don't like to cook so I will buy one of those chickens that's already cooked at Walmart. I can eat pieces of that for several days. I like the lemon pepper one the best. I can't remember who on here told me to dip it in spinach dip. I dip the breast in that because it's a little dry. That is very good.

yep the lemon pepper is the best now they have the garlic butter they gave me a sample one day it is moist and yummy but it is injected with butter so I will stay with the lemon

  9. if I am not mistaken RS meetings other than on Sunday are quarterly, unless you are joining groups such as book clubs, exercise groups, etc. as for your kids can they not carpool with other young people going to the Wednesday activities lessening the times a month you have to drive?
