  1. Good for you !! I am overall doing pretty well too and like you say, everything I am sipping, is thin and room temp. I think what we learn is that we are all so different but have a common factor :) Keep up the good work. Do you know when we start to see the scale move? I would really like that !!!

I noticed this morning a 3lbs loss so I think the iv fluids starting to come off it can only be downhill from here! :)

  2. Ive had RNY on 4/8 been home since Thursday evening doing great..dr hosp did follow up today and I told them all the fluids and protiens im getting in and she was very surprised I am average 100oz of fluids a day and the requirements is I believe 65-70 she asked if I was nausea or anything I said no. Im also takin my supplements and having Protein Shakes one kind I tried didnt agree too much but other wise im keeping everything in its going down nicely I have followup on 4/21...I almost feel like I didnt have surgery except dor every sip I feel the gurgles as it goes down. From what im reading what im experiencing is odd...altho the shake that didnt agree was a heavier shake the other shake is EAS carb control and broth and tea and jellos so mostly pretty thin liquids could that be why I can consume so much?

  3. Still in hosp I expect to be leaving today. Yesterday got reallty rough. I got tons of mucus in y chest and I was cough and gagging and the stupid day nurse wasnt givin me pain meds she kep telling me it was nausea so she kept givin me nausea meds I puked well sorta all day finally when nurse changed he gave me pain meds and let me rest and I feep alot better now. Anyone vomit aftet their surg? That a scared me thought I wad going to tear something. I hope I can start to tolerate more than Water. Also did anyone experience the gurgles with every sip? How long does that last?

  4. Yeah I havd go cook for my family too but they been eating dinners same way as me except my 7 year old I have go serv hed carbs like rice or potatoes because she is diabetic and needs carbs to prevent lows...my husband been doing same preop diet with me even tho hes not having surgery. Wich helps alot so he is upstanding what im feeling..I got 8 more days to go..

  5. I think it really depends on the bariatric surgeon/hosp/patient/type of procedure. My Dr put me on 12 days preop and another person I over heard was 3days and some none..the reason for preop is to ensure your liver is small enough for the surgeon to get to the stomach. I was told if they open you laprascopic and your liver is not small enough you will have to have an open procedure which is cutting down your stomach. The facility im using is a center for excellence facility. I actually am doing extra days preop just to make sure! Lol my nutritionist also went over all diets we will be on how to eat and I was practicing alot of the habits for last 6 months.
