Hi AMF101! I was banded in Toronto on April 24'06 and am due for my first fill on Monday. They told me that I can expect 4 to 5 cc fill. A little nervous. Soooooo, I think that sounds about right to me.

Hello, I'm not sure how things are where you live. I'm from Toronto. My BMI was 42 and my weight was 272 and I also was told I was not "very large". I cried thinking even these Drs where going to dessert me. I WAS approved. I did have complications but was re-banded earlier this week. I feel really good now and am looking ofrward to A THINNER ME!!

I want to thank everyone for your kind words of encouragement. Surgery went OK. They also fixed a hernia and added a tubaligation!!. Still sore and a little light headed. The port incision is the worst. I've taken the week off work so I'm hoping to be able to go back to work on Monday.
Thanks for the encouraging words and prayers.:bananadoggywow:

Hi everyone. I'm back here after a long stay away. I had a band put in last year and they perferated my stomach as well. After the removal of the band, extensive re-constructive surgery and a month in the hospital later, I chose to stay away for a while. Anyway, crazy or not, I'm about to try again. I'm frusterated and scared. Anyone out there experience anything like this?? Or even a happy ending to a really rough start??

I'm scheduled for surgery at the end of the month and I would love to here from anyone else who might be able to give me some insight on Insurance, my DR. or the clinic he works at.

Thanks for everyone's input. I finally called the Dr. He says that this is needed (for 2 wks prior) to try and trim the liver of excess fat. This allows easier access for him during surgery and in turn seems to make erosion almost non-existing. I'll try it, I guess. I tried a Caramel Denone Silhouette Fat Free yogourt last last night. Not too bad at all. I'll have to try it frozen too.
Wish me luck. This diet starts a week today.

My pre-op diet consists of ONLY yogourt and water!! UGH!! Is this the usual???
Any help out there???

This, to me, is my slow but continuous journey towards my success. I have a surgery date of April 28/05. I'm nervous and anxious all at the same time. My husband is in my corner but my parents are horrified. Needless to say, they no nothing of my surgery date. Only the fact that I "was" considering this path. I'm Canadian and have no insurance. I'm also not sure as to how to use this site, so please be patient with me.
Thanks for listening.
Anyone afraid to tell their boss?

I agree, my boss is so judgemental! Two close friends at work know. No one else. They see how I eat now. They think I have GREAT self control! If they only knew (hehehe). Why go there. I ttook a week holidays. Knowone even knows I was in surgery. It's YOUR choice. This is not an obligation. There is nothing making you tell anyone. Smile and let them praise your hard work. Trust me, it helps alot nut it's NOT easy.
GOOD LUCK!
