    Pjtp...again!

Back again...it seems that the original PJTP thread has been closed and deleted...can't find it on a search anymore. FYI...hope everyone updated their subscription to this thread so we don't lose anyone again...

    Tummy tuck 9/9/09!

Hi Minidriver! Yes, your surgery WAS very reasonable...I have seen prices quoted at DOUBLE that...almost makes me wanna get on a plane... We'll see what my local guy comes up with, and in the meantime, I'm going to keep talking to Dr. Schulman...

    Pjtp...again!

PJTP...Good morning Everyone! Ran my 3-mile course this morning - only walked 2 blocks, so I'm getting stronger and still loving the c25k. NSV - Put on a size 16W dress this morning and it fits beautifully! I look skinny - for goodness sake - I NEVER thought of myself that way. I was so discombobulated this morning after how well the dress fit that I totally FORGOT jewelry...that is so NOT me, but oh well... It's a beautiful sunny morning (though not warm - can tell Fall is in the air) and all's right in Ebony's world... Have a wonderful day, everyone! BBL!

    September Exercise Challenge

Hi Everyone! Did my 3 mile run this morning - walked two blocks of it today - one because I couldn't see where I was going (it crosses a park / green and the streetlights don't quite cover it, plus it's a dirt path) and one block because my left knee went from a twinge / light ache to a obvious ache. After I walked a block, it eased up, so I ran the rest of it. This was Week 8, Day 3's routine. I have one more running day this week - Saturday morning - and I'll move on to week 9 next week. It took me a little more than 30 minutes to do the entire route - about 35 total, but I'm feeling great and feel strong. JollyGreen - I love your emoticons! LOL I do know about the cold you are talking about - it was in the upper 40's this morning when I ran, so I layered my clothes. I wore a running tank (close fit to support the 'girls' since I'm full-busted), a long-sleeve tee shirt, a long sleeve thermal pullover (not sweatshirt-heavy but medium weight), and my running vest (reflective trim front and back for visibility). I wore yoga pants (not heavy sweats) and had gloves on for my hands. Because I wear my hair in a big afro (think nearly Angela Davis-sized) no hat yet, but I'm going to get some knitted headbands for when it gets colder. I was fine during the run - actually was a little damp at my innermost layer, but didn't feel cold at all. I get cold easily now that I've lost my "insulation layer" :w00t: so I tend to layer more. Dress for the weather, and you should be fine...because I run at 5 am, there's nothing else open to do an inside run, and by the time I get home at 7 pm (after a long commute) I am hardly likely to go out again unless it's still warm when I get home. Make it work for YOU, girlfriend...adapt and overcome! As long as you keep walking - do what works for you! You are gonna be fine now that you're able to run again, and I bet it comes back quickly! I'm losing inches like crazy - the only thing I can attribute it to is the running, since the scale is moving slowly if at all. After my recent fill, I dropped 4 pounds right away, putting me under 200, but nothing since then. Still fine-tuning my eating - the recent fill made me change some things - and the fewer carbs I eat, the better I feel / more I lose. It's a balancing act because I'm still on diabetes meds - if I feel 'spacy' because of low blood sugar, I tend to head for carbs, and once I get started, it's very hard to stop! It's a process...and I'm winning - so I'm gonna keep going!

    Pjtp...again!

Hi Y'all! Oh but the campyness was the fun part! But since I love action movies (and martial arts movies, and comic book movies, and make-you-think movies...) I'll probably go see it. My latest must-see is "Where the Wild Things Are" - can't wait for that one! Yep - I'm a kid at heart... Didn't go see Bewitched - nothing against Nicole Kidman (I think she's gorgeous) but to me, Elizabeth Montgomery was the only Samantha...

    Tummy tuck 9/9/09!

Hi Minidriver! Ebony makes note...lymphatic massages - must do! I just found out there is a plastic surgery "department" at the university where I work - they are a teaching hospital and I know a lot of the residents there. I've sent the chief physician an inquiry regarding their requirements and such. If I can get it done right on campus, that means less expense (possibly). The medical plan at my job might cover more of the expense that way...it might also be easier to qualify since they work with my bariatric surgeon. How long was your process of approval, etc from start to finish? Or were you self-pay, and so did not have to jump through hoops - I can't remember right now...

    September Exercise Challenge

Hey there! I've done the week 8 workouts - so far, the farthest I've run is 3 miles, round trip, with about 4 blocks worth of walking in the 3 miles...I was so proud of myself! I'll keep the distance the same for a while and work on stamina and speed. Usually by the time the program tells me I can walk, I'm MORE than ready! My first 'official' 5k (I don't count the walk I just did) will be in October, in Mystic, CT. They have a Penguin 5k that I've signed up for. I plan to be running the full distance, and am planning on that being my first and only 'race' for this year. Once it gets colder and there is frost on the ground, I won't be running. I will still walk, but the running will have to wait for non-slippery ground...

    Pjtp...again!

PJTP...again! Wednesday edition... Back to work this morning - still not 100%, but considerably better than the last couple of days. Lots of stuff on the desk to catch up on, but here I am PJTP'ing...:scared2: Housework - YUK! What Slim said! Missed you too, girlfriend!:tt1: Oh yeah....I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it...:w00t:
  9. Hey Notorious Novembers! Don't feel bad about that...I think I posted before that sometimes I do a week's routines for 2 weeks before moving on. It's important not to overdo it, because an injury can sideline you for a while...good for you for doing it! I agree with Delivered - good luck and many blessings to you and your surgical team, DD - may there be a swift and challenge-free surgery, and your weight loss continue without a hitch!

    Pjtp...again!

Thanks, Slim! ***doing happy dance*** I'm really happy about it...I NEVER thought I'd see that size again! Once I get more of this tummy off, I'm sure they'll fit better, but until them, I'm celebrating! "I love it when a plan comes together..." Col John 'Hannibal' Smith - the A-Team:tongue_smilie:

    September Exercise Challenge

Hi Everyone, Been down for the count the last couple of days...some bug got a hold of me and I've had NO energy. Took a short walk with DDog this afternoon and it nearly wiped me out, but I did it. Back to walking / running tomorrow - I'm still committed to that 5K in October, so I gotta do it... Hang in there, everyone! Georgia Girl - great to see you back! I'm using the C25K program as well and love it.

PJTP...original version! Hi Glouc! Happy Tuesday to you too! Hi LJM - give that gorgeous baby a kiss for me...I do love babies! Hi BBK! *waving wildly* Glad you are dealing with the weather...that's one thing I DON'T miss about Michigan...the changeable weather - though here in CT, it can be just as crazy. We'll have 65 and sunny in my hometown, and 1 hour away, where I work, it will be 55 degrees and cloudy / rainy / drizzly...go figure! I hope you are feeling better soon! I posted on the newer PJTP...again thread as well - more detail on my clothing NSV... What CC said - get well soon! Finally finished my homework and turned in my last quiz for Business Math class - got 100% :scared2::w00t: Start working on final exams tomorrow - as soon as they are available for download. 100 questions for Biz Math, and polishing up a paper for Humanities...gonna be a busy week for me! Back to work tomorrow - I'd rather be home, but can't - it's coming into our busy season...still looking for another job, though...I'm just not really happy where I am, but happy to have a job in general. Have a wonderful night, all!

    Pjtp...again!

PJTP...again! Having a weird couple of days...was home with a general "sick" feeling yesterday. Lightheaded, body aches, no fever, but everything else felt like the flu... Today, a little more energy, but started the day with almost NO voice - it's so funny when I, the motormouth, cannot talk. My DH and DD make gentle fun of me and then tell me to Shhh when I try to talk! ***Major NSV Alert*** Just came in from jean-shopping. I am "growing" into my true figure I think...pretty straight up and down, not a big difference between waist and hip, so traditional women's jeans are baggy in the butt area - just where I don't need them to be (at least until I do a few thousand more squats!). Ended up buying two pair of "slim fit" (boy that was fun to type) "Cowboy Cut" Wranglers - men's jeans - iin a size 36 x 34 and a 36 x 36 (need the length 'cause I'm tall). My DH kept encouraging me to go smaller...:w00t: I tried on several pairs of women's jeans, and the best fit was a size - are you ready for it - 12!:w00t::w00t::w00t: I think it's because they have some stretch in them, and they were a 'relaxed fit' which meant there was more room in the seat and thighs. I was actually pretty happy with the size 14's (considering I just started wearing 16's a short time ago) but the dedication to my workouts is definately paying off. The pounds aren't moving as fast as I'd like, but the inches are leaving, so that's cool too. I didn't get the size 12's because they were too short - just not enough length in the legs, even in a "long" inseam model...I'm just tickled to wear a smaller size...:seeya: Going to go put them on and try them over my cowboy boots - gotta make sure they fit over the boots, ya know! Next time my DH wants to go line dancing, I've got the perfect pair of jeans to wear! :scared2:

I hate it when people post just to post.....

PJTP...Hi y'all! :tongue2: Been down the last couple of days with some kind of virusey-thing...not quite the flu, but not feeling my best. Hoping to get rid of it today so I can go back to work tomorrow... You'll be great for December, Fanny! I know the 'getting stuck' feeling - I have that occasionally, but not too often (thank goodness). After my long plateau and recent fill, I dropped about 9 lbs, but I'm holding steady at 196 now. Want to lose another 20 or so and see where that takes me. Being sick for a couple of days has sapped my energy...took the dog out for a short break and I'm whooped! Guess I'll have to ease back into my regular routine...I just feel so tired right now...

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Hi Tina! OMG - you two definately can understand and relate to each other...it is so difficult to understand why people do things like that. I could NEVER have left my kids - even when I was unhappy in my first marriage, it never crossed my mind to leave my son. Never. You'll be fine through this - you two have each other, the strength of shared experience, and you're both going to be so careful about doing it right this time that it will take more than one slightly unbalanced ex to mess that up. I applaud you both for being willing to trust and love again. You are both strong survivors, and you're teaching your children a great lesson - just because one person hurts you and betrays your trust doesn't mean that ALL people will do that. Congrats - and many good wishes for a peaceful and wonderful future for the two of you...:smile2:

PJTP...again! Like Kat, I want to make sure I get notifications about this thread... If we decide as a group to close the original PJTP and move here, I'm down with it - I will follow my PJTP family where y'all go. Just let me know what happens...if you don't see me post for a few days, and it's not a weekend, hit me up on PM so I don't miss y'all! :smile2:

I hate it when people post just to post.....

PJTP... It's definately MONDAY! :frown2: I'm not feeling my best today - too much outside activity on the weekend, perhaps? I have a headache, sore throat, and body aches...just hoping it's not the flu! Had a wonderful day Saturday - went to NYC for the day. A football game in the early part of the day, walked around the city and had dinner, then went to see Cedric the Entertainer with DH at the Beacon Theatre. The Beacon Theatre is GORGEOUS! Lots of gold leaf, intricate carvings, kind of an egyptian motif. I'll see if I can get a pic off my iPhone and post it... My DH had the most interesting (yet gross to me) appetizer - Octopus! He thought it was wonderful...I couldn't get past the LOOK of it! I had the chicken Alfredo - now I know why they call it a heart-attack-on-a-plate! I try to eat fairly clean, but you could just see the butter and cream oozing out of this dish - the chicken was good though, and since I have "Jillian" my band to help keep me in control, I ate mostly chicken and only a little of the pasta: All in all, it was a wonderful day - a belated anniversary celebration (our actual anniversary is August 23 - 19 years). We had a good time, didn't get home until 2 am, and had to get up at 7 am for church! Taking it easy today - I guess this little cold virus (or whatever it is) is my body telling me I've over-done it a bit and time to sit down for a while. Luckily, I have tons of homework to do and exams to prepare for, plus loads of laundry to get done...off to get started. Everyone have a wonderful day!:smile2: P.S. Regarding moving on to a new PJTP thread...I'm up for whatever - if the majority of posters here want to move on, I'll definately go with ya! You're a part of my online family, so whither thou goest, there go I!:smile2:

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Hi Tina! I would document - print out the messages and save them. You might need them if this gets to be more than just an annoyance. Find out from your local police dept what constitutes 'stalking' and what, if any, action you can take against her. Above all - protect yourself and your family. Set your profile so that only friends can see your info, then if FB allows it - block her. If necessary, send them copies of the hateful emails she sent to you so they know. Documentation is important in all of this. Let us know what happens - I wish you and your guy all the best. It would be nice if folks could just LET GO when a relationship is over, but sometimes you get people like this woman. Give him every chance to reiterate that there is nothing to her accusations, but at the same time, protect yourself, your heart and your family. Love ya, girlfriend - take care of yourself...:smile2:

You know you are a bandster when....

Hi Everyone! :seeya: I love these...especially the case of water instead of soda... OMG - isn't it great? Here's a few more: ...when you no longer worry about having enough room in theatre or movie seats because you no longer fill them up from side to side! ...when you can buy less expensive shoes because you no longer wear a WIDE size! ...when you can shop from the sale racks because you no longer need the large sizes that always sell out first, because the store only stocks 2 or 3 of them... ...when you no longer have to think twice about buying a smaller, fuel-efficient car, because you FIT into the drivers seat without the parking brake digging into your side or your butt! ...when friends who haven't seen you for a while ask "Where's the rest of you?" ...when you anxiously await the "buy one, get one half-off" sale at GNC so you can stock up on Isopure Protein drinks! Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon, everyone!

    Want to start running...need encouragement

Hi BillOH, Congrats on your latest run! Sounds like you have really hit a good groove with your training and you know your capabilities well. I'm hoping to get there at some point... My DH measured out the course I ran the other day in preparation for some weekend running, and found I had actually run 3 miles instead of 2.5! Amazing what a difference that made to ME, mentally. 3 miles seemed like such a BIG deal that I thought I might never make it there...well, I did! I've signed up for a 5k in Mystic, CT in October. It will be my first formal race, and I'm going to work to run the entire distance, no matter what the terrain or the weather. If they have the race, I'm going to be there! Don't know if my DH will be able to be with me, it depends on his work schedule... I'm committed to doing it though...it may be my last chance before the really cold weather sets in and snow hits the ground. Once that happens, I'm indoors until spring...I'll try winter running for 2010-2011! :seeya: Just bought and am awaiting delivery of an elliptical trainer (not a big fancy gym unit, but a sturdy unit for home use), and I also have my rowing machine (that one is a gym machine - they upgraded and I got a really good deal on it, since my DH does maintenance for them). Between the two of them and some weight work, I should be good to go for the tough winter period, and then when Spring arrives, back onto the sidewalks and the street! Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon, everyone! Homework calls and next week is finals week!:blushing:

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Good morning alleycat_trucker, Thanks for the reminder that not ALL men are like that - and you're right, men and women do cheat. We've seen stories on these boards about women who got thin because of the band, decided they needed a 'new man' to go with the new bod, and then cheated. They are just as wrong as the men who cheat. Thanks also for holding up the banner for faithful husbands who do NOT cheat and who love their wives...you are definately not alone in that, and it helps sometimes for us (as women - the primary posters on this thread) to be reminded of that. In fact, Tina has found a great guy this time around...my first marriage ended badly and my current hubby (my 2nd) is a good one as well. We have our issues periodically (what couple doesn't?) but the relationship is so good that it's worth working on them...which we do. How are you doing in your band journey?:seeya:

I hate it when people post just to post.....

PJTP...just before going to bed... Hi SNT - I started another thread in the same theme / vein as PJTP, then when the original was re-opened, I thought it might confuse people to have two of the, so I asked Alex about merging them. I was afraid that some of the old visitors / posters might not find the new one. OMG - girl, sounds like you had a FABULOUS time...and you deserve nothing less! I think I understand how you feel, SNT - for me, it's not the same either without all my other friends, but I'm not quite ready to leave LBT yet, and I'm hoping that having PJTP here again will help some others that may not be ready to leave either. I do miss my other LBT PJTP friends, but I've connected with most of them via other means...I do not believe that this will replace the original PJTP, and you may have a point that we should have left the thread behind and started anew, but I didn't want to leave anyone out... Headed to bed now - have a busy day tomorrow. Will try to check in. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!:tongue2:

Got a deep conditioner on hand? Do the color, put the conditioner in, put a plastic cap on (or a grocery bag in a pinch), let it sit for 30 minutes while you do other stuff, then rinse it out and style as usual. Try to go easy on heat until it has a chance to recover...I would air-dry if you have time... Good luck with the dinner party! :scared2:
