  1. Can you go back to the person you had your psych evaluation with before the surgery. Talk to your surgeon he can get you back in with that person. Also call the country social services in your area. They offer counciling. Call Cathlioc charities maybe they have something or can point you to someone who can. I will be praying you for you
  2. I am due to be sleeved in 19 days and I am so scared of this happening to me. I am seeing someone and hopefully that is going to give me tools on how to deal with the emotional eating. When you talk about logging your food how do you do that? Do you log calories or protein?
  3. That's why I love this site. There is a lot of good info here.
  4. Once the swolling goes down you will have a fast loss of fluid
  5. I have been seeing a professional to help with my food issues for about a year. I know why I over eat, but I think it has become such a habit that I have no idea how to break it. Plus, I think once you have over ridden that full feeling to many times it takes more food to make you feel satiated. Now it is not just emotional it is physical. I had the lapband for 5 years and felt full and comfortable on a lot less food. Now that it is removed I am hungry all the time. I never feel full.
  6. I went in Sept to have the band removed and going back on Jan 28th to have the sleeve done. I would say take as little as possible because you have to get the suitcase back home after the surgery. They do not want you lifting heavy weight after the surgery. I live in Ny so I had a 4 hour layover in Atlanta airport and it was hell with a suitcase. Wear pants with a stretch waist for the flight home.
  7. I am due to be sleeved by Dr. Alvarez on January 28th. I had the band removed by him in September. Everything went well there. The pain was terrible for a couple of weeks after I came home so I am hoping that this time around it goes easier. I have read that the sleeve is easier than the band removal
  8. Blessing to you. Keep up updated.
  9. I thank you for posting this. I am due to have my revision to sleeve on Jan 28th. I had the band out in September. I have been so scared waiting to get it over with. I am glad to hear it wasn't that bad for you. Do you have any advise on what makes it go easier?
  10. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I am glad to hear you experiences were good. It does make me less stressed. I do not have to do a pre op diet as I weight 177 right now. But the post op sounds tough. I am so looking forward to getting this done, everyday is a struggle not to put on more weight
  11. I am going to Mexico amd having Dr. Alvarez do it. I can't wait till it is over, I am so stressed thinking about it
  12. My surgery is on 1/28/14. I am scared to death. I had the lapband removed in September and I am having a sleeve done.
  13. Hi Laura. Ven awesome job. Can I ask you where you had your surgery? What size bougie your doctor used? Did he over sew? Is there anything else you wished you had done different? I am due to have surgery in January. What was the hardest part for you? What would you do different?
  14. I have a little fear about the emotional side of this too. I have used food for comfort for a lot of years. I just wonder what is going to happen once I am sleeved
  15. I had the lapband removed in Sept. I am going to get the sleeve. I have talked with 2 surgeons . One uses a 36 bougie and the other uses a 32 bougie and over sews. I am concerned about the differences. Does anyone have an opinion on this? As far as weightloss, will it be harder with a 36 bougie. I have about 50 pounds to lose. Not sure what to do.
  16. Congrats to you. I know it takes a long time but I am wishing you well
