I had a band and revised to the sleeve. I am having second thoughts. Since I have had the sleeve I am tired and weak a lot . I have no energy. When I had the band out I gained ten pounds. I have lost that ten and five more since January. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't because the price was to high on my health. I would of stayed with the band.

I was feeling hungry all the time too. I have started taking 5HTP. 50 mg about 20 minutes before I eat. It takes away the hunger and cravings. I heard about this on Dr. oz and tried it and it has helped.

I am three months out and I have lost 15 pounds. I am a slow loser too. Hang in there it could be worse.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they pay for a revision even if you are at normal weight as long as your doctor says you need it.

I am almost 3 months put. I had a knob there at first but as time goes on it gets less and less

I had the band out and 4 months later had a sleeve. Everyone gains weight while the band is out. I think surgeon number 2 is the way to go. It is harder to lose weight after a revision so why gain it and have to lose it again.

I had a band and had a revision almost three months ago. I lost 8 pounds while in the hospital and 7 pounds in the last three months. I have a friend who had the same revision surgery as I did and she has lost the same amount of weight in the same amount of time.

I had my surgery done in Mexico with Dr. Alvarez . I am doing good. It took about two months to start feeling normal. It is a major surgery. Who is doing your surgery? I am going to Bassett in Cooperstown for my follow up care. I was having some issues for a while and had care there.

I had my surgery on Jan 28th. I am in Bridgewater. When is your surgery?

They do an endoscopy and when they put the camera down your throat they use the bougie to make the opening that has narrowed wider. I am also back to throwing up again so it didn't really work.

Hi pancake. I sound a lot like you. I was 181 when I had my surgery. I lost 8 pounds the first week and nothing at all for 6 more weeks. I am now 3 months out and I am down to 163. It has been slow. Just hang in there and follow your eating plan. Make sure you get lots of Water and lots of Protein. Stay away from the carbs or the scale doesn't move. I know you can do this you are just in a stall. I was sure I wasn't going to lose anymore but I did and it will continue to come off. Probably slowly but it will come off. You can do this

I went in and had the stricture diolated and it was good for a few days and now I am back to throwing up again

A narrowing of the stomach. They go in and try to stretch it with a bougie during an Endoscopy. If that doesn't work they revise it to a RNY

I had to wait four months and gained ten pounds. It would of been a lot worse but I was real sick from having the band and didn't feel like eating at first but that last month I was eating anything that wasn't nailed down so I can empathize with you. Once you get the sleeve everything changes.

I had throwing up also and I had a stricture. They diolated the area and it has been better until I just ate some chicken

I am on Bio identical Hormone replacement therapy. I had a revision to the sleeve and I am still using it. I would never be without it. I take large doses too. It healed my fibromyalgia and I am pain free now because of it. It has changed my life.

I went to the doctor and they said I had a stricture, since I have had it diolated the nausea and the acid reflux is gone.

My dr. Had me wait four months in between surgeries

Dr. Alvarez is wonderful. It was a good stay and he did a good job. I would see him again. He is at endobariatric.com

My doctor didn't recommend I use one but I did anyways. It made a world of difference with the pain level

Is there anyone out there who regrets getting the sleeve?

I had my band out and a revision to sleeve. I have only lost 8 pounds in 6 months. NOW the doctor is telling me because I had the band previously that I wouldn't lose much weight . It has been very discouraging. I wish the doctor had told me this 6 months ago and $12,200 later.
